Modifications / Hurricane Component Skins (Attempt)« on: August 17, 2009, 07:49:34 AM »
Its actually more involved than you might think.
First, you make a new skin. Next, you make a copy of the GMF of the component, decompile it, and change name of the .bmp in there to the name of the new .bmp you made. Now one would have to make a copy of the components's .txt file and change the name and GMF that the .txt uses. Rename that .txt and put it in the styles folder. Lastly, in the original .txt, instead of having the line say "Styles = Default" change it to "Styles = Normal, newskin.txt, New Skin." I'll make a in depth tutorial with pictures later. 4543

SIGN UPS ARE NOW CLOSED.
If you are not on the list and really want to compete, post your name and hope someone will agree to be your partner. You an ask certain people if you want. As for bots, spend this week building and tweaking and perfecting and then NEXT week you may send them. If you have extra time or already have your bots done, spend this week AIing your bots. This will hep me out a ton and make the tourney start much faster. It's really not hard, but I will do it for you if you feel you can't AI your own bot. Thanks. 4544

Redline is wrong. It is possible, but tricky. If you have my skin pack, you'll notice the 20cm extender with the green mark on the end. I had to edit the extender to accept a .bmp skin. But to be accurate, you woul dhave to add vertex points for the .bmp map to follow. It's really hard.
But it is possible xD 4548

wow, nice. One thing you should really do is make the axes look symmetrical. it looks really messy the way you have it. Since the axes are on a snapper it's really not that hard to do.

No S32, I'm his friend. But I suppose you have a point. If this were a ship, Inf would be the captain and I would be the first mate. Pysc would be the, oh whats the word..., commador? And you, S32, would be the little kid who sweeps the decks, dreaming of a mutiny that will never happen.
EDIT: oops, forgot kill. hmm. navigator? lol. 4552

Much better. you might be able to attach a 20cm to the top extender holding the bracket wedge and use that to attach the HPZ. would save you 2 kgs. dunno what you would do with those 2kgs though lol.

why not build one the other way? with the battery on the right instead of the left? so they would be mirrors of each other.

i beleieve you can just add a "Mass = ???" line in the components .txt file to change the weight. not sure... but i think so.

Well, I thought I mind as well get this going. No point in waiting any longer.
ROBOTS AT WAR SECOND SEASON RULES If you don\'t already know, RAW2 is going to be STOCK 800kg MULTIBOT (two bots per person). Of course, the general rules from BBEANS apply. 3:00 minute matches. Each bot may weigh NO MORE than 400 kgs. (Yes, your bot can be 399.9 kgs.) The entry limit will be 32 ENTRANTS. That means 64 bots. HOWEVER, if you so desire, you may team up with someone and only use one space for two people. This means each person makes a bot and they team up (much like the Tag Team Challenge). You may only team up with someone AFTER 32 people have signed up. This means one of you have to be in the original 32 entrants and someone that didn\'t get in on time may ask if someone will let them be their partner. If this is confusing, just ask in your post. ARENA It\'s a surprise. Unlike most tournaments, you won\'t know the arena or it\'s hazards until everyone has their bots in. Fun, right? RUMBLE So now you might be wondering, how in the world will a rumble work? Pretty simple. The builder will choose one of his two bots to compete in the rumble. So instead of multibots, you have 4 400kg bots attacking each other.[/color] PRIZES What, winning isn\'t enough? Kidding. Champion will receive all three maces. Runner up gets silver and bronze, Rumble champion gets the bronze one. (credit to clickbeetle for compiling the gold mace when my compiler wasn\'t working). ![]() ENTRANTS 1. Urjak 2.
