edit: snapper are better at making wedgies

that doesn't explain why most of the bots in the middleweight division that have really good wedges use blue snappers.

i would add some type of supports to that perm so it doesn't look like it's floating in space.

You might want to bring the plow back a bit so the weapons can stick out some more.

Ran a gauntlet using the Robo Zone arena last night called the "Popup Challenge":

Horizontal Spinners had to go up against these three popups in one match in order: R4 (20 razors, high killing power, no armor), Ideal Tyrant 2 (6 razors, 6 ramplates and two lawnmower blades for armor), and Heroic Sacrifice (8 razors IIRC, caster armor). The goal was to either survive the entire match (3 mins) against all three popups or destroy all three.

Here's what happened:

Phenomenomnomnomnomnomnomnomnomnomnomnomnom 2 didn't make it pass R4 IIRC...

NLSGT managed to kill R4 but wasn't able to survive against IT2...

Absolute Chaos also was destroyed by IT2.

Pandemonium destroyed R4, and fended off IT2 without destroying him before Heroic Sacrifice came out and finished him off.

Self explanatory.

Stone Breaker destroyed R4 before being taken out by IT2.

With R4 and Heroic Sacrifice being immobilized, Tunnel Vision 2 managed to last more than 2 minutes before being counted out.

Scylla, a HS built to take out popups, was unlucky as it was flipped over and destroyed by R4.

AwesumSauce's HS/SNS couldn't get the job done either.

Not even Bumble Bee survived the gauntlet.

BEAR comes extremely close.... but couldn't pull it off.

random aw

plastic and 1 pink. the razor is attached to an axle that swings around the bot to hit stuff.

that sidehammer probably could benefit from longer and wider wedges. also that weapon rack setup on that sidehammer isn't that good with the extenders holding up the upper irons being attached to exposed extenders on the side. you could also get one more iron on it too.

LW caster VS from last year that was in that bot pack I released. Only upgrade was redoing the extender work to center the weapon. Forgot what armor it has....

Some MWs that I made a couple days ago:

Xaser 2
A rebuild of my old true popup. Plastic, 2 blacks, 4 razors. Can occasionally get under Seism 16.

Kataphraktos
A popup/wammer hybrid. DSA, 1 black, 4 razors on one ddt. Works by pinning stuff up against the wamming rack and wailing away on them with the popup arm although bots occasionally get on top of the weapon rack, causing it to work just like any other popup.. Was originally a true popup/wammer hybrid but it didn't do as much damage as I hoped. A little bit wedgier than Xaser 2.

People don't respond because you don't show anything.  If you want to keep everything you find to yourself and make a showcase that doesn't show, don't expect anyone to care.  I thought that should be obvious.

This. i don't see the point in taking pictures of censored bots getting under nuclear fallout as if it is something groundbreaking. might as well actually show the bot so some people could be inspired by it

and another thing about nuclear fallout...

come on dude anyone can do this lol, you can try it yourself.

a couple of other things even if you already left:

-why not release your bots? the majority of people here(myself included) would greatly appreciate it.

-how did you know that geice uses bfe on his builds?

-did you know you could have put some of those guys that pissed you off on ignore?

anyways, it's been real

Discussion / Questions About RA2 Building
« on: June 29, 2013, 11:25:37 AM »
I have some questions that I want to ask people:

1. What's the average time it takes you to build a robot?

2. Which robot that you made did you find to be the most difficult to build?

3. Out of all the robots that you have made, which one is your favorite?

Here's my answers:
1. In between 45 mins and 1.5 hours in stock, and in between 30 mins and 50 mins in DSL.

2. Terramax 1 would be the bot I found the most difficult to make in stock due to everything except the wedges being setup on one snapper. took three tries to get everything right. Nothing comes to mind in DSL.

3. VictimiZer would be my favorite overall. My most favorite bot in DSL would probably be Capital Punishment.

those wedges are almost guaranteed to suck with all those motors mounted on those blue snappers.
