24 teams involved and I think 8 will be reserves. I know 1 or 2 or the UK teams are reserves.
. That's a lot of reserves. Does it mean that 1/3 of the bots won't get to see any action? You won't see all the fights, a number of competitors are featured and you will see their fights only. I'm not sure how many are featured.
Are they going to offer DVDs of the raw footage like they did in the original run?

I'm with you on this, but it's one thing to say these things are happening, it's another to see the evidence things are happening. It's why I want screenshots, a teaser, something. I'm not going to make a blind investment, in time or otherwise.
It's too soon; people won't stay hyped for a small-time game like this from now till the release date. Hype is like a combustible material - you can only light it once, and after the flame goes out, it's out for good. The hype for a triple-A game is a slow-burning votive candle, for RA3, it's a 4th of July sparkler.

Battle bots coming back? RA3?
Dreams do come true
It's almost as though one of those things may have motivated the other.
Which reminds me, I should probably be ready with a new season of Resetti's Wars Extreme to piggyback off of Battlebots. Nola Garcia and Derek Young confirmed as well via FB.
Has he ever built a Heavyweight before? Wonder if he'll do a heavyweight Complete Control. Jim Smentowski just confirmed he's going on FB. Dunno what he's bringing.

The Witch. The crease in the hat is made from a drillbit from the Darkpack, and the body is made from the "domes" discs. So, it's actually pretty protected from spinners and the like, but pretty easily flipped.

Can't believe I missed this one, seeing it gives me real nostalgia. Fantastic work here man. Black Widow is very cool too. What components are those disk-things on the front originally? They look hex plate size, but I'm not sure.
Ironforge introduced "hex" plates with a variety of different numbers of corners, this one's the pentagon plate. I took several of them and BFE'd them to occupy the same space, only slightly rotated to make them look like the had teeth.

This has been a hectic month for us. Busy schedules with exhibitions and err life, BB orientated everything and the shock of what could possibly be the new RA3 threatening to ruin our efforts on the Robot Wars Mod. But regardless we're still working and trying to find out the crack exactly.
And in the mean time I give you B... Guess :P

It kind of looks like a first draft of Tricerabot. Looks good as always. How will RA3 scuttle your plans? You can still release your thing as a fanmande mod, can't you? Not all old games are automatically too obsolete to draw an audience - World of Warcraft and TF2 for one.

If you take a look at the source for the page, there is a hidden message that says "We hear you GameTechMods."
Woah that's some /x/ type stuff there. Honestly this is starting to make me wonder more.
That doesn't necessarily mean it's a hoax. We're the second result when you google "Robot Arena 2," so it's not inconcievable they'd find out about us without any help.

Hopefully it'll be just as malleable as RA2; modding's big in all games right now.

Hmm if that's the true list then I'm puzzled about how "Hypnotized" was a clue.

Think we should start a "not competing" list? Obviously we cant include every team under the sun, but we have a confirmed "no" from Team Toad, and it might be good to close the book on other popular teams that would get lot of inquiries.

Nice BFE on the shape. Look good enough. Oh Resetti you may want keep your reps safe from any potential hackers your work drives others in jealousy (except HB he plays by the book and surpasses rather than steals).
Hackers? Lol, I sure hope my security program is up to date?

If I'm not mistaken we've got 2 MIT teams competing, Jamo as part of the Varibale Constant, and Charles - builder of Uberclocker - with a bot yet to be announced

I do hope they'll consider bringing out Nightmare again. Sure it may be outdated but it's arguably the most recognizable robot in America. Could be just the thing to get the Nielsens up and solidify a continuing show.

Off the top of my head; Meshiggah, Disc-o-Inferno, Elvis, Fat Boy Tin, Diskotek, Sunshine Lollibot, and Ewe 2.

Funny story, when I was in elementary school, some kid played that old "gullible isn't in the dictionary" joke on me, and I took the bait(didn't know what the word meant). But the dictionaries in the classroom were children's dictionaries that had a rather minimal vocabulary, and in fact, "gullible" wasn't in the dictionary. I got the last laugh as they had to awkwardly try to explain the joke.
