Here's the first of Apollyon's matches at DragonCon-
The rest are uploading and should slowly trickle onto youtube as they finish.

Video will show up eventually, but Apollyon went 5-0 in the 12lb class

Some video from DragonCon-
MCM was having issues with the lifter digging into the floor, making driving difficult
Still managed to beat Pop Quiz with only cosmetic damage
Kobalos and DDT fought 4 times before a winner was declared, this is the first match.

Hey S_M, I have a question about your three component rule. I noticed your entry (the minion one) uses four of the same wheel type. Isn't this against the rules, or is it only parts that are unique to the replica that must follow the rule?
The rule is up to 3x the quantity of that component used on the replica

Simple fix:
Swap the polarity of the motor's going into the esc and flip the "servo reversing" switches for aileron and elevator on your transmitter.
May not be quite right if it's a motor timing issue. If the transmitter has trim adjustments, that would be the best way to do it. (push the stick so it's going straight, then adjust the trim to the left if it's veering right, right if it's veering left, repeat until it goes straight when you push the stick forward) In addition to that, the surface and which part is dragging will alter handling. I'd suggest putting the arm all the way down, then driving it on a flat, relatively smooth surface for trim adjusting.

So I have some sad news to report. My source of drive motors (Harbor Freight 18v drill motors) dried up. I don't have any spares so as of now I have no way of maintaining three robots through one event so currently I'm debating about pulling Shish, and DoorStop and only running Phoenix unless I can find some replacements. I don't have money for dewalts or banebots gearboxes so don't suggest them.
Stats I'm looking for for the motors are 550 RPM after the gearbox, 18v, size RS550 motor, single speed
The motors looked like this and the drills looked like this if you see anything like that drill in a store PM me with the details; brand, store, ect.
This looks like it may be exact- http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200314674_200314674Not exact, but the GB dimensions may be right on these- http://www.harborfreight.com/power-tools/cordless-drills/192-volt-1-2-half-inch-drill-driver-kit-96526.htmlhttp://www.harborfreight.com/power-tools/cordless-drills/18-volt-3-8-eighth-inch-cordless-drill-with-keyless-chuck-67024.htmlhttp://www.harborfreight.com/power-tools/cordless-drills/18-volt-cordless-4-tool-combo-pack-90374.html is the same price as the last one, and has a bunch of extra tools, looks to have the older style drill as well.

Have you tried using a basic hinge set up... when the whole arm goes up, the claw stays stationary and grips the opponent. Simple and lightweight.
Wouldn't do much, the claw was meant to grab hold while the arm was down and keep the other bot grabbed during the lift. I may be able to shave the needed weight after the event, but getting it working was more important than the claw with DragonCon in a few days.

Had to drop the claw servo for now due to weight/space issues, but the new ant's still a lot of fun-

great idea! i might add some eyes to it as well so it can "eat" other robots
I'd be careful, if the arm's strong enough you could damage part of the weapon or chassis trying to do that.

I think a good guideline for IRL realistic is if you can find a real life example of what you're trying to do, it should be allowed. If the realism is at all debatable and you can't find a real life example, it's not allowed. Example: Flails do exist in real life. There are several examples of bots with 2 flails on a spinner. But 8 flails? No. Similarly, hinged wedges/forks do exist in real life. But huge long 120cm angled sheets? That's taking it too far.
I like this criteria, however, in response to the last point- Maybe the more specific version would be related to long wedges that are essentially parallel to the combat surface.

Congratz to all our winners and everyone who competed in this tournament!
Now BB3...
At the rate 2 filled up, I'll need to keep the .rar with my bot on a flash drive and keep it with me at all times.

I think the flex in it should be useful when fighting spinners, absorbing their energy and not allowing them to get to the wheels.
Bingo, it's made with spring steel. Should handle hits fairly well.

Made some modifications to Kobalos- It's a blast to drive with the 11:1 sparks in it. One mod isn't visible, I have abec-5 bearings in the frame rails to help support the spark shaft.
