i guess its irl in the sense that nothing moving intersects but i would be surprised to see anything of that style and shape actually built, let alone with a sheet of lexan hanging off the back of it's hammer. maybe it's the plows/wedges, maybe it's the visible burst motor, idk. not saying i don't like it, i really do. i love a good hammer. just don't know if i'd call it an irl build

its cool to see all the deathy bands i like that i thought no one else listened to popping up. demelich suprised me! i dig them. i also forgot to include all my mclusky cds, their whole discography could fit into my list. incredible band. i think everyone here could find a mclusky song they would like. i also forgot to include anything by torche or floor. two more full discographies that belong somewhere in that picture. i saw baroness pop up on a few of these, definitely go find some torche and work your way backwards into the bassy, doomy sludge that is the almighty floor! you'll like it, promise!

i do struggle to see what's so diverse about a lot of these top 50s though. 40 disks all in the same genre with a few bleeps and bloops and that one rap cd you like does hardly a diverse collection make. some of yall are honest with it though. some people just have that one sound that gets their juices flowing, no disrespect there. honestly it's probably just the years of having my eyes roll back into my head when i hear someone say they like 'everything but rap and country' and their itunes reads like an alt rock station with a slight punk lean and a curveball or two

the motor thing really, really cripples my desire to build more... what's the fun in realism if you can't **** sh** up? and motors in real life wouldn't be that slow regardless, right? it's not the speeds of the things that were unrealistic, it was the other aspects of the game!

thanks for the feedback though, i'm going to push myself to keep ****ing around and maybe i can come up with something of legit power. either that or i'm going to hack my game up to increase power in all my motors and make tournament play impossible for myself. who knows

diversify your bands!

i admittedly had to squeeze in a couple of xxscenecorexx bands from my highschool days because they admittedly had an effect on my taste to this day (heey number twelve  i liked you before all the fringe bang kids heard you signed to eyeball!) ...and i look back 'em them with fond memories, but nowadays its mostly as described below

play faster!! thrash punk, hardcore and grind
indie twee pop jingle-jangle
motown doo-wop/bluesy scat
and any hip hop with droney, spacey beats

but my actual music collection runs the full gamut from sunshine dream pop to ignorant thug nonsense to free jazz death white noise to my mom's country bumpkin skee-daddle and i've got a little spot in my heart for everything

im honestly missing a whole ton of stuff in this and wish i could fit more cause this is mostly dragged from a nearly five year old itunes playlist that ive updated sparsely since then, id like to slide some jim croce in there and a few other things but i might have to just make another one

this one was kind of thrown together with no particular order anyways, although the top four are definitely all time faves

Anyone care to explain how I have the third most viewed DSL showcase!?
Because You're 3rd most popular DSL builder...?
Because I deleted my showcase.

Otherwise you will merely be #4, not so impressive now is it?

yes indeed they are!

so i tried to make a raptor inspired flipper and ended up with this cute little guy who just can't seem to garner up enough strength to flip a single damned thing. shame. a lot of these motors are weaker than i expected them to be... i'm going to have to cut down a bit and add in a stronger burst and hopefully it makes a difference.

i have to wonder how people make all of these bots with spectacular extender work while staying within the rule of sevens and not going over weight. le sigh

so i open up to throw together a quick build and dont feel like getting all irl-y with it tonight. i just want to build something destructive. so tonight ive learned that the little double-motor really doesnt spin all too ****in' fast. go figure. really unimpressed by this thing. still havent made anything worth skinning or naming yet
