Naryar: Yep, and the Perm is on a Burst motor, which I believe makes it even more powerful.

I'm not particularly afraid of being OOTA'ed, PulverizeR is quite slippy; if something get underneath it, it flails about wildly and then flops over bringing the disc down on its opponent like a giant hammer.  Even if it does get flipped, it mostly seems to go straight up or backwards.

Battlebots made a real mockery of the sport; between the buffoon commentators, the liberally-given bye's, the fact that they only showed a handful of the matches... painful to watch.  And Bill Nye was insufferable, no disrespect to the Science Guy, but he contributed NOTHING.

That's exactly what I meant.  I loved that gear mechanism too, so clever.  But the stores areound my area were total sqaures; they never had any blues, greens, or yellows, so I could only collect half the set.

I thought this tounrament was about making the best looking replica? Quite a few people are changing the design of the original bot to make it combat effective which is really annoying...

Agreed, guess there won't be as much competition for "best replica" as I'd thought.

Does anyone remember the "Slizers"?  They had springy arms for launching discs, they might have also been called "throwbots"?   I had some good times with those.  They kind of looked like Bionicles, I can't remeber if they were.

Are you going to finish the "north" bracket next, or go in order of numbers?

yea no probs.
i wouldnt be offended.
its up to you.
youll probably make a much better version of it than i could.

btw whoever said it earlier about the flipper segments i tried that for the weaponry but it done no damage at all. + it looked tecky with the flipper segments and hit the ground when moving foward.

Excellent, thanks.  I was thinking about how I could make the "propeller" things.  I had one idea, but I might end up having to use some non-damaging materials, but it's ok, I wasn't planning on entering it in any tournaments (also because my idea will require a ***k-ton of custom components).  Maybe the blades could act like a flipper that helps tip over robots after they drive up the wedge.

i dunno, in testing it beat almost all of the bots out there. you guys are underestimating Warhead.

NEWSFLASH:  It's because he has 8 teeth!!!  The real warhead only had 2.  I motion that Warhead should remove 6 of them for the sake of accuracy.

OK but was their any need to call my robot the SFTW?:?:         P.S Naryar YOU INSULTED ME TWICE!

Well since you asked, I wasn't impressed by your bot, as a fighter or a replica.  The wheels are huge and completely exposed, I didn't think it stood much of a chance.

In terms of accuracy, I give it a 4/10. Here is a picture of Destructive Criticism:
http://www.team-x-bots.com/robotwars/pics/pits/Pit42_DestructiveCriticism_RandyEubanks.jpg  Now, here are all the differences I spotted:

It's brown, not green
There is a wire frame protecting the wheels
The wheels are smaller than Mud Runners
It has 3 teeth, not 2
There are no "fang" decals carelessly slapped across the top panel.  (FYI, 9 times out of 10, edgeline and decals on a replica = fail)

I've always thought that a replica of Run Away should be more skeleton-y, with a small chassis, and most of its body made up of components.  Now i'm tempted to try my hand at it, but I feel as though it would be poor form to build the same replica right after someone else does it.  In the interest of diplomacy, ashman, would you be terribly offended if I attempted a Run Away replica and posted it here if I like it?

Sorry if im being annoying but can i ask how cassius2 won?

He used Battlebots-style scoring, which takes damage, agression, and strategy into account.  You did fair in the damage catergory, but I imagine Cassius beat you out in the other two.

How come it took so many hits to damage Cassius 2?

DC's weapon is a small disc with 2 DSL teeth. Not terribly effective at causing damage.  And I assume that Goldenfox used the toughest armour he could afford within the weight limit, which would be pretty tough stuff.

Awwww. Can't we just go with:  "Form over Funtion" ?  :D

I will laugh until I wet myself if I win a match.  Sonny's assessments of the bots are pretty much Spot-on.  Though I forsee a ton of upsets if bots end up out of the arena.  I kinda wish I had taken the time to make a flipper bot now.

Edit:
Predictions:

Cassius 2
Plunderbird
Pulverizer
Frostbite
Revolutionist
Supernova
Fluffy
Toro

You're right.  "Joke Entry" was too harsh.  I'm sorry.  Anyways, I'm flattered you predicted me.  PulverizeR has this wedge-type thing in front that makes it more difficult for opponents to get underneath.  Here's the photo I submitted for the splash in high quality.  I  encourage others to do the same:

Ok, time for my thoughts:

Forstbite: Fairly good arsenal, but 4WD on a rammer?  Might be at a disadvantage

The Revolutionist: Looks sturdy, but I think Joe said it was an SnS?  If do, it's in trouble, if not, still up in the air, given its 1st round opponents

PulverizeR: I found it to be a very effective flipper in testing, its ability to gutrip makes it one to watch.

Fluffy: Pretty average in terms of potency

Cassius: Should make semifinals easily if the flipper's as powerful as I've heard.

Turbo: A hardy shell spinner that will probably make it to semi's.

FrenZy: Somewhat lacking in power

Supernova: Completely exposed chassis will be its downfall.

Odin: Looks pretty good, bars can be a tough weapon

Sharkbyte: Not easy to flip, but weaponry leaves something to be desired

Crabmeat: Joke entry.

New Cruely: Rammers don't usually fare well in a spinner-saturated torunament, but it has 6wd, that could help.

Toro: I can't see what kind of motor it's using, but I'll asuume it can hold its own.

Bigger Brother: Not visually appealing, doesn't llok too powerful either,

Last Rites: Another good one.

Plunderbird 5: Underweaponed, which will probably be its downfall.

Warhead: Very cheap, Warhead did not have that many spikes.  Last I checked, there were two on the disc, not eight.

Destructive Criticism: Undersized disc, oversized wheels, this one's the SFTW.

Disector: Love the design, but doesn't look like it's much of a fighter.

Diablo: Looks terrible, but it's plenty overloaded to win a match.

Silverback: If it can OotA, it's a threat.  If not, it's a byebot.

I think it's good! I was actually a little bit worried about potentially fighting a big spinner like yours (IE. Last Rites, Warhead and Pulveriser were the ones I was most worried about), if I can be honest with you.

Oh, and what do you think of my Cassius II replica?

You defo did your part to make it farly accurate.  I don't know what that DSL dar in front is doing there, but other than that, good job.  There are a few replicas here that I would not have accepted, had I been in charge of admissions.

What happened to the Splash?  It looks kind of messed up, and the robots are more or less incomprehensible. Did you just take shots of the robots' "wallet-size photos"?  I gave you a full-sized picture, you really should have used that.

Not bad for just starting out.  If you want to challenge yourself, add some more detail to Oblivion's shell.  And I've found that caution lines look better when hand-drawn, they're really pretty easy to do.

Any chance we can get a peek at your Supernova replica?
