and congrats for acting like emotionless idiots in this topic. so it wasn't the smartest move he made, it's still bad it happened.
I feel bad for any familly or friends he had yes, but the actual act itself was incredibly stupid, and as the guy in the video said, he took a pro-longed pause before deciding to ram into the door, any loss of common sense was obviously there to begin with.

And congratulations on this darwin award! Anything you'd like to say?

1. Steel Avenger
WHAT?!?
You don't like panic attack but your favourite robot is steel avenger!

why may I ask?
He also hates Chaos 2, Wild Thing, Diotoir, Behemoth, and Storm II. Why? Because they all beat it  :idea2:
Everything beat steel avenger, it was one of the worst robots ever in RW.
It was too weak to be competitive and to boring to be a joke bot.
Sure it wasn't the greatest, but I did at the very least think it was decent enough. Until it got flipped in most of its bouts, I don't really remember it breaking down.
It's weaponry was pathetic.
I know axe bots are usually not that goo, but you still had decent ones like dominator 2 for example.
I can't recall a single match where steel avenger pierced a proper opponents armour.

Suppose. Or we could do the Series 2 version and have the arm on a servo-powered boom, almost like That Darn Dustpan!'s arm.

Or Mortis's Tanto Blade.  v
I hate series 2 dead metal but love the series 3 onwards one.

Nice rep BTW, sorry I ignored it  :laughing
Can't remember series 1 Dead metal as i haven't seen much of series 1.
Pink though? Surely tha should have been matilda.
Thanks! Although the Series 2 Dead Metal was a far better one than the crappy Series 1 one. Did you know that it (S1) was originally going to be pink?

That would be a challenge. Especially all the random spikes on his armour.
I think the saw system would be a bit trickier. I mean, with it coming outward at an arc and all.
An extender or something like that on a servo could do that couldn't it?

lag free would be best yeah but we don't have that luxury. i'm happy enough with this lag reducing find.
Well even if this gets popular here, i'm sure people would be able to improve it.

Could be handy.
It would be great if we could get lag free online play, I'd love their to be some tournaments that require driving skill rather than just AIing everything.

Have we not had this thread already?
It's funny how people always talk about what they don't like more than what they do like.

Anyway for me

1)Panic Attack
2)Hypno-Disk
3)Nightmare

The BBC must still have the rights to more series than just extreme 1 surely?
Or did they have to buy the rights back from channel 5?
In which case why didn't they buy them all?

interestingly enough I believe BBC never sold the merchandising rights to RW which was a contributing factor of its cancellation (new network couldn't make anymore money off it)
Well that's interesting (assuming it's true ofcourse).

Also, does anyone know who owns the arena nowadays, I heard that one of the teams bought it (storm 2 IIRC), but I do know there was some controversy around it, mentorn tried to block the deal I think.

Oh dear god.
I watched part of one of his videos last year and it was TERRIBLE.

People who find this guy funny won't have the intelligence it takes to watch a full movie anyway TBH.

« on: October 09, 2010, 06:14:55 PM »
could someone explain them? :)

without just giving band examples. like why they are considered like that.
:ermm:
It's a bit tricky, pointing out the difference between ALL the sub-genres you mentioned.
For example though my favourite metal sub-genre is prog, which is about complex song structures, longer song lengths, usually extra instruments (e.g keyboards, orchestra) and can have varying kinds of vocalists.

Thrash though for example, is a faster and heavier version of classic metal basically, at it's core is usually quite simple musically, tends to stick to a band of 4 (i.e no keyboards or extra instruments).

I'm assuming they don't think the first four series were exciting enough.  When G4/TechTV was showing Robot Wars in the US, they only showed Extreme 1 - Series 7, and eventually started doing Series 7 only.
Really? Weird.
I guess I just assumed it was legal issues, although it still mistifies me if they wouldn't want to show certain series considering they are showing extreme 1 quite often

Dave is a piece of crap along with watch.

All dave shows is the same 3 episodes of QI and all that watch shows is doomsday and that sh**ty RTD era Dr Who episode.
Yeah that's certainly a fair view, not at all over-exagerating or generalizing.

Why are they repeatedly just showing extreme1 of RW?
They're part owned by BBC aren't they?

Can anybody shine some light on whats going on here for me?
