General Support / Arenas not working
« on: March 01, 2018, 03:52:37 PM »
Apologises in advanced if this has been answered somewhere before but I had a look and couldn't find it.

I tried to use the RW S7 arena in DSL 2.2 so I copied the folder and the py. to go with it into the Areans folder of 2.2 but got this error when I tried to start the match

I've never tried adding arenas from different versions of RA2 before.

What did I do wrong folks?

That looks much better :D try also large Collison wheels, they are the same size as the rubber wheels bit with less of the hun sticking out

Didn't have the weight unfortunately :(

Aside from the wheels, that 'bot is clean as ****. I love it! ^_^

The opinion is shared. Best bot so far imo

Thanks both :D it's funny you mentioned the wheels as not long after posting I did this...

I can be a bit of a T-minus wheel whore sometimes

My first 4 bar lifter attempt, I'm chuffed with the way it came out

The skin is really nice, the weapon support looks good, and the weapon looks deadly, all in all a really cool VS! Makes me disappointed in Babaulti .

The only negative thing I can see is that it might get stuck on its sides (although that’s pretty unlikely).

Babulti is a good bot, it has a more complex design which can be a bit harder to pull off but I'd say you managed it :)
As for getting stuck on its side, it does very occasionally but the disc generates fair amount of gyro which usually stops that from happening

The skin on that flipper bot is beautiful

I like them, but exposed wheels always trigger me

I'm going for Rhino but my predictions have about 10% success rate when it comes to robot combat in any form

When I get at least 16 people to say they would be willing to enter then the mods should move it to signups. BW will also be taken in at the same time so if you are entering a BW then send it at the same time

Cheers :) I'll make a BW too

I'm glad this is a thing, I might throw Richter into this as I'm no longer using it for RG.
When will sign ups start my good man?

Very neat, clean and well made looking, if fairly conventional in its design. Nothing really negative to say about it other than it could do with more antennae  ;)

I always forget about antennae! It's got a retro vibe going now which is neat :D

As an adult I really should not be as excited about a Lego robot combat tournament as I actually am  :dumb)

They are cheatbot. I'm guessing you downloaded avalanche's version of the game which Mr AS's balance patch pre installed which makes a bunch of cheatbot components available by default.

That is exactly what I did and I had no idea that was the case! thanks for letting me know :)

On a different note here is another one of my potential RG entries for the CW division. Taurpedo 2
Ditched the giant bar as it was a bit fragile and gimmicky. Not many people seem to use these style discs (not sure what their name is) but the 100cm is perfect size and fits the aesthetics of this robot well

Are Heavy Metal Noise teeth legal in Robogames?

They aren't cheatbot so I'd assume so but now I'm unsure...

Was going to be my HW entry for RG but I'm not sure I like it enough as it didn't quite come out how I wanted and I doubt the weapon is potent enough

Cassius Chrome sucked so much, but I like this Lego version. Also Growler has a sort of dinosaur look to me but it's still awesome
