Off-Topic Discussion / Re: yay superbot is back
« on: July 16, 2018, 10:35:19 AM »
RA2Winner, was this topic even needed? Superbot may not have been the best member but the way he was treated/talked about after he left wasn't on either.

All that being said, good to have you back Superbot.

It's a tad confusing but I think it sounds like an improvement!

This sounds relatively fine to me, it would help if those who voted "no" actually explained why they weren't a fan to help the mod/admin team out!

New Blood - 10 spots left!
Weapon Wars Clamps - 1 spot left!
Weapon Wars Rammers - 1 spot left!
Weapon Wars Unique - 2 spots left!
Wildcard Warriors - 3 spots left! (may be increased depending on numbers.)

Maybe I'm just dumb but what are those weight limits? Or is it just a rule so there aren't like dozens of shell spinners in one tournament? :o

All those you listed are for Heavyweights! You can enter as many events as you want with whatever robots you want.

In other news, I'll be posting an update later today about the bots I received yesterday (Day 1)...I'm just still going through them!

Also I think people would be a lot more open to your ideas if you provided examples of what said bots would look like under your ruleset.

Sorry about earlier. That is a good point: will discuss it with Mystic when I get up tomorrow: thanks!

IT'S THAT TIME! Entries are now open! Please send me your entries in FOLDERS named after you so I know whose bots they are!

As a reminder, here are all the events:

I look forward to all your entries! I'll be posting daily updates regarding what spaces are open!

So is it first come, first serve?

Nope, to make it fair: bots will be checked through on a daily basis. For example, I'll check through all of tomorrow's bots in the evening and then I'll post an update of what spaces are left and who has got in! This way, it allows me to look over all the robots I get sent, instead of just using what I get first as that isn't fair on people in certain timezones.

So I'm guessing you pick the best bots for the tourney if you get more entries than the event can hold?

Yessir, just like the real shows. Not just powerful bots but visually pleasing bots too!

Discussion / Re: A New BOTM, Going Forwards
« on: July 06, 2018, 12:38:56 PM »
Should just be called BOTM and replace the other one in my opinion. To make up for this however, I do have an idea: the "Challenge" category. Basically, like the current BOTM, a theme or challenge is put forward and robots are submitted for that like every other meta/category. I'll admit the idea is flawed but I just figured I'd say it for people to think about.

Can't do that because of the way things are ATM. Trust me, if I could, I would.

It's why this needs sorting...having 2 BOTMs is just annoying.

It will be IRL antweights
Have fun getting entries for that
It's IRL, it'll get entries.
Ok that's true IRL will get a lot of people intrested. It's just that antweights is such as an odd category too base it around. I can see it being quite difficult for some players to build too that weight catogorey. Although what do I know

I doubt many users will enter antweights, like I like IRL and even I'm not interested in that

No offense but I have to agree with Hop here...but perhaps everyone else will join!

Got 3 new bots to share! First up is the blubbery buffoon Tusk! I wanted to make a walrus robot, that's all the story to it really: not the most effective either!

Next up is a Terrorhurtz (and to a smaller degree, Beta) styled robot which fuses a hammer and an axe together: I'm pretty pleased with it (also you get a cookie if you can guess where the name comes from!)

Lastly, the return of my signature bot after it was ripped to shreds by Jamie's Hollowing Out Souls: here is Deadgnaws! This is the second version with an improved wedge and visual features!
