No weapons line, would that affect it?

Yes, the AI is told to only spin if it still has weapons.  If there is no 'weapons' line, the AI doesn't know that it has any weapons and it won't spin.  If you don't want to actually have any real weapons set, just use 'weapons':(0,)
 
The reason the AI never stops spinning once they start is because button controls are almost impossible to turn off once activated.

What .py are you using?  Does it eventually drive out of the corner or does it just stay there?  Does the AI ever turn?  It may also help to post the bindings you're using.  Answer those questions and someone may be able to help.

i'm thinking about making an ai pack (also have a tournament in discussion) and a problem i had making a pushy bot ai-ed was that it ran away from the opponent. it was facing in the right direction even. any tips?

16 bots, 1 wildcard.
DSL HW
must have AT LEAST 5 components from 3 diffrent bots.
cheatbot2 parts are allowed as followed:
-All stock parts
-All weapons from the replicas
-All armour pieces

1 update, make it count.
multibots allowed,if both of the bot's weights combined do not exceed 800.0 kg
if 1 is ko'ed, the opponent wins that round
1-on-1
double elimination.
wildcard is a 4-bot tournament.
3-minute best of 3 for each matchup
no bfe or aam unless ABSOLUTELY NECESARRY, or if it's just a custom armour shine. Nothing else. when you submit your bot, i will check the .bot file
bots must be recieved and accepted before it is added.
havoks: first havok equals a restart. if the second time there is a havok, and it can be proved to be by a certain bot, the havoking bot in question will lose that round. i will decide if a havok is either:
A: a minor havok that requires no restart, or
B: a major havok that requires a restart/dq.



Arena will be reskinned containment cube with hazards on
i can ai, but i've only been practicing for 2 weeks, so, please ai if you can.
