Right, a IRL bot, de-shell solid 150cm on a dual perm with 240kg of hammers without having to go through with them first. In an environment where hammer bot has 1 spike and VS has 2 ripping teeth.
You have a better chance of it bouncing around and OOTA itself out of the arena.
If this is allow I would just enter a clone of this but with a square chassis and 4x 70 hammers.

What are you talking about? Shells don't get immobilized when they lose half their shell and their wheels. They just bounce around the arena through the imbalance weight and dual perm torque. And that's exactly the point. A lot of bot types that can't gutrip it will automatically lose if it's weapon count is under 240kg in concussion.
It also opens a can of worm that nobody wants. Everyone who enters to win will flatten their chassis to nothing and replace it with cheap top external armors.

Or another HS/shell can take off a few panels but can't damage your chassis. And you eventually won because you have more weapons in KG and de-weaponed the other bot.

Well, considering IRL don't even allow half sheet and casters, something you can do in the botlab, I don't see being completely invaluable to top/side attacks through BFE being okay.
I mean, sure build whatever you want, but I don't think any sane tournament host should allow chassis height hacking below what everything inside can fit

You hacked the chassis down, so it motors and batteries acts as indestructible armors.

Bah imbalance hax.
Indestructible top armor is not cool, especially for IRL.

no because anything based on a group of people's opinions, no matter how large or small the group (I.E. only AU and up vs. everyone,) will always be subject to grudges and personal qualms when judging an individual's character. And no matter what happens, anybody who gets repped down will complain and whine and bitch and moan about being repped down and how nobody loves them, their parents don't love them, santa claus isn't real, etc.
EX: Some people might want to rep me down for this post because it goes against their ideas regarding the rep system, however everything I've said here is true.
^same argument can be used against any democratic systems. Let's just remove voting for everything since someone's gonna complain. "People will whine anyway" is no reason to why so little people gets to rep. I mean sure the few guys guys who abuse the system through grudge war or circle jerk (ex. GoldenFox93) needs to be barred, but it makes no sense to bar everyone else under AU in the process. Besides, recent events has shown that AU and veterans are no indicator of how responsible they are with the rep system. You want an accurate rep system ? Leave it to the staff only.
Well if you define "accurate" as "matches what's in your mind". Obviously a rep system run by staff only cannot be accurate because by definition, reputation is the OPINION of an entire group, not the few people on top.

Well, I think everyone could perfectly do some kind of airplane thingy. I thought about it when everyone decided to build planes. I really don't want to participate and the rules back me up. I can't say this without sounding incredibly arrogant but I'm kind of afraid of winning every time I join a BOTM. Obviously I like to win (who doesnt?) but others must get too right? Hey you never know. You always gonna have people complain, but really not everyone feels that way. Or at least, I don't feel like I will necessarily lose because we entered the same BOTM. While BOTM might seem easy now, it used to be a bit more competitive back when Joeblo and Click still enter these things.

Lets just hope, that Domanating can't participate, so everyone else to have a chance this time.
I can't. It's part of the rules so go for it
Actually I was more hoping you can.
Why?
Why not? Besides I don't want to be 1 of the guys who's whines about you taking the chances away from everyone else.

Obviously the bot is lacking in razors.

we have already polycarbonate, it's plastic durr
although yes there are some gaps in the armor choice that need to be filled. Mostly between 1mm plastic and 3mm plastic as well as between 3mm titanium and 5mm titanium, but others as well.
The simple solution is just lower the weight past plastic 1, and adjust the HP accordingly. I mean, the 10 armors (besides plastic) are useless at their current weight anyway. It's not so much the thickness gap as it is the weight gap that needs to be fixed.

You probably want to slap 2 wheel slot decals on the LW.

Lol come on guys haven't you seen his showcase? This guy is clearly trolling.

I think it's a stock thing, since the bots are so tall and they always try to trim those little corners.
Still, the only relevant application I see are for IRL. I think for both stock and DSL the focus should be on reducing effective hitbox, even if said chassis end up a few kg more.

This I never knew anyone would think a triangle (a strait line through all 3 points) could save me weight.

« on: June 27, 2013, 01:52:46 AM »
What? You mean people actually believed in that kinna nonsense? I been sinking in my chassis to save weight for ages.
Rather or not sinking in can save weight will depend on the height of the chassis relative to the distance between the 2 points. The lower the chassis and the further the 2 points are, the more likely you are to save weight. I sink my chassis all the time to save KG.
If you want to be really anal about that you can calculate the first derivative of the surface area equation between 2 points, and find the instance where it is == 0. You can probably write an excel spreadsheet to do just that.

DSL-S "is" whatever the you like minus a few stacking rules and overlapping spinners. You don't see anyone going into domanating's showcase complaining about efficiency. However if they ask what will make their DSL-S bot function better, that's a whole other story. We don't get to choose what works and what doesn't in DSL2 or RA2 physics. Or maybe instead of caring about efficiency and tournaments, they can enter BOTM.

Up the chassis armor? Or throw 3 flamethrowers in there.
