Real Robotics Discussion / Re: Robotics Questions MEGATHREAD« on: August 01, 2013, 03:42:35 PM »What would be the easiest/cheapest way into robot combat? Im in the ukThat depends on your location. The cheapest way would probably be a feather weight wedge. I would recommend: Drive: A pair of Robochallenge 12volt drill motors. I'm not from the UK, but this seems to be the most popular drive motor. Wheels: Again, Robochallenge wheels, which are pre-made with the threads required. ESC: A pair of BotBitz 85amp EScheaps. If you're feeling daring, you could hack the ESCs your self, but it's risky. Radio: Hobbyking HK-T6A. Decent radio, but I would recommend the link cable to add mixing and the likes. Battery: A pair of 7.2volt NIMH sticks. Lithium batteries are preferred, but they burst into flame if miss handled Charger: Turnigy ACCUCELL-6. Needs a power supply, but you can use a computer supply if crafty. 424

Also would recommend the two kits from FingerTech:
The Viperhttp://www.fingertechrobotics.com/proddetail.php?prod=ft-kit-viper(The one I own, very nice kit that was made even better with the wire blocks) The Lifter/Clamper kithttp://www.fingertechrobotics.com/proddetail.php?prod=ft-kit-servo-combat(Based on the bots made by Team Misfit, the guys that made Micro Drive and The Bomb) 426

Whoever decided to put the same thirty second, unskippable ad on every video in a LP series on Youtube should be the victim of a blood eagle. What are you talking about? Did you miss post this from somewhere else? 428

Chatterbox / Re: How did you find GTM?« on: July 24, 2013, 08:49:01 PM »
I was around the old official forums for months, and I jumped on the GTM band wagon when the ATARI forums went bust, then made an account.

Remarkable, Ripto hit the shaft hard enough to bend it but failed to brake the gearbox it self.
You should send the photo of the bot to Fingertec, they'll feature it on their Facebook page. 433
