But razors have very little HP. On a bot where the weapons are permanently exposed you want them to be strong at least. Anyway, the way he's mounted them will mean that attacking a chassis's going to be hard, and since that's a razors forte I hardly thing its a good thing to use here.
Yes, but the bot has decent chasis armour on it, and he will definately save some more weight with a tightening of the chasis, so he is better increasing it's offense now.
If it were me, i'd perhaps use smaller or more compact wedges and add some spikes around the spinners, or maybe even use normal twms and try and fit in an extra spinner there.

Then again, i'm just throwing ideas out there  ;)

Wait, a rammer or a pusher (What have I started :'() is gonna rape the weapons. It needs medium beaters BTW. Also it you angle the motors up slightly you might be able to gut rip.
Hardly.
He could probably fit large beaters on there if he redesigned the chasis.
Razors are a better bet anyway.

Well, atleast you made it a middleweight this time.
Redesign the chasis though, you will have to put everything back on your bot yes, but it does save potentially a lot of weight and improves your bots a lot.
You should also get rid of the dsl bars and use the sheets again.
Also, I don't think it was good advice to get rid of the razors for the beater bars, i'd change them back if I were you.

Any Comments on my first popup? or is it to awsome for words (highly unlikely)?
good for a first try? bad? Yay? Nay? (on a side note, ai'd it beats PoP! VII and PoP! VIII)

EDIT: w00t! Middle weight at last!! :)bigparty  :party :party
*does small dance to commemorate bubbleman becoming a middleweight*
Now, onto the bot
Is it invertible? It really doesn't look like it.
Ermmm, probably going need to see the insides too say any more about it.

Grrrr, you see that little bit below the bot, that ssays what the weight of the bot is and what weight class is in.
Now if you look carefully you'll see that it says "heavyweight" meaning that it is too big to be a middleweight.
You've also got a lot of empty space there, try shrinking the chasis down, use a bit of trial and error to get it as tight as possible.
Also, it'd help if you posted what armour your using.

^that^
Aaaaaaaand.
BUILD TO THE WEIGHT LIMIT!
You can easily make that thing a middleweight by downgrading the armour.
Remember the limits of each weightclass.

[Offtopic I have bad vision fullstop, then again, it just could be my brain working too hard on everything else that it sometimes forget to fully process what i'm looking at :laughing]

@GF93: Yeah, Cunning Plan is the SFTW. It has Piglets for drive.

*cue Nar with ragetoon*

I thought Astro's were the worst type of DSL motor.
IIRC astros are made for drive not weapons like piglets are, that's what angers Nar.

The wedges are attached to metal hinges.
Aaaah, that's ok then, my eyes are shot, I should probably get some glasses.

ALWAYS build as close as possible to the weightlimit of whatever weightclass your trying to make
Also, e#teks are not very usefull, too big compared to other DSL motors if you ask me. Like bubbleman said, mags are probably your best bet.
What are the wedges attached to BTW?

Like I said before, I think vlads are spot on for the job, they're easy to make invertible, they're quite grippy, not too big and most importantly considering this is a 2WD bot, they are slightly stronger than other wheels of the same size and weight.

me too, but you never know how fast it will be when ai'd (as thats what it will end up being if it is entered in a tourney)
still, if you have enough weight left, a change to techno's from vlads wouldn't be bad.
Yeah, it seems to me that most of the wheels in DSL are well balanced anyway.

Well, Advice time!
Use a single Mag for the spinners, with the space gained add some metal hinges (door hinges), get rid of the spikes at the back, use multi extenders when you can, with the weight gained from the weapon motor transfer put on technos, make the chassis smaller, put in 7 or 8 ants, and try to get it down to a MW. also, srink the chassis hight. all in all, a pretty good first bot; WWWAAAYYY better than my first bot.
Seems to me to be good advice, although personally i'd probably use vlads instead of technos

Yep, it's the way spin motors work in this game so the ants are VERY usefull in DSL
As far as I know BTW
1 ant=1spin
3 ants=bsg
7 ants= small JX
14 ants= Large JX
21 ants= Beta

*prepares for somebody more experienced to correct that list*

Actually, yeah I can see what's going on there now.
You don't really need that spike on the back part either.

But the main thing you should do is rebuild the chasis so it's smaller and then place in about 5 ants in there rather than those big batteries.
One thing that helps a lot to know is that 1 ant=1 spin motor.

5 mm plastic is quite good actually.
First thing though...WAAAAAAY too much power you only really need 5 ants on that!
Also, is that a hex plate attached to the baseplate anchors there?
