On the components.txt, which parameter on the spikes is the damage causing thingy
I never really bothered to tweak the game's files on a serious level. So I'm not sure.

1. Lack of customization You can customize your parts/arenas/robots a lot easier then you can, in RA2
2. Variety of enemies RA1 lacks Pop-ups, and saw blades are actually a thing.
3. Every time you came into contact with another bot, everything stops. Because the Opponent is constantly moving in your same direction, and you can't drive out of it
4. Bots EXPLODE after you kill them Explosions are cooler
5. Lack of parts RA1 has radar jammers, giant speakers, skull decorations, etc
6. Lack of part positioning
7. Chassis look really weird Why is that a bad thing? Different chassis lead to unusual designs, and further increasing the originality
8. Bots cannot leave the ground This is only due to the fact the forklift was never fully completed, so it's not a valid complaint, as both RA1 and RA2 fell short on budgets

6 is your only valid argument.
And Andrew is right. Yes, RA1 is cheesy, but it's a good kind of cheesy.
(And apparently one that I like to play around with)

1. How so? In RA2, you can move and rotate parts freely around your chassis.
2. By "Variety of enemies" I meant that there are only a few enemies.
3. An explaination doesn't make it not suck. There should have been some sort of pushing mechanic.
4. Okay, I guess so.
5. In RA2, there are LOADS of different things that you can use as a weapon.
6. Gotcha :)
7. True, but what robot ever looks even remotely like one of those weird chassis? The second wedge one was the only exception.
8. You say that a forklift was SUPPOSED to be in it, but it's not in it.

that's a very poor flipper you have here. If it is a srimech... you're doing it wrong.

as as said make it into a rammer/flipper, that's a cool hybrid. Make it less tall, invertible, use small burst motors (like 4 BSG's is just fine)

Drive is fine, it is underpowered however. Beta bursts need 220 amps - that is 22 ants (<= not recommended) 8 battlepacks or 4 large batteries.
I already posted why I can't make it invertable, and two mag motors couldn't give it a schrimech so I had to use a powerful motor. I also explained already why I don't want a hybrid. I'll try the BSGs though.

Probably not. I used two magmotors on Mutant 1, and they couldn't flip it.

i can see this bot turning into a cool rammer/flipper hybrid. in fact i am almost compelled to go build one right now.

if you were to make your front wider, the wheelgaurds would not be needed. one of the sheets in the extenders tab would also be a more efficient flipper/srimech/whatever. this should free up some weight for the extra batteries needed to fully power the beta and drive.
Alright, I'll try that. Btw, I thought about turning it into a flipper/rammer hybrid but I kept it as pure rammer so it would be more aggressive as an AI.

Alrighty, here is Mutant 2.

Pros: Can now self right | Uses all weight | Has wheel guards
Cons: Srimech is useless after about 1 minute | Does less damage (for some reason. Srimech blocks teeth???)
Help/Feedback?

MAKE IT 10 WD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111!!!
Dafuq?
thats just 090901 trying to be funny. ignore him.

a srimech may not be the best use of weight i feel, maybe if you simply got it to run upside down it would be fine.

I can't make it invertable. It would either have bots flying over it due to no ripping teeth, or it would have bots getting under it.

It always has baffled me... is Great Britain an actual country? I thought it was a bunch a countries that are in the same region. It also upsets me that they compete in the olympics combined when smaller countries don't have that privilege.

Anywho I'm from Australia.

So I was correct? Either way they should be competing as single countries not as a group, or perhaps the USA could compete with all countries from the south american continent and compete under the name of America  :dumb) .
The UK is one country, just because it has constituent countries, doesn't deny its political status as a single entity. Funny how we compete as GB though, as Great Britain is just the main island lol.
The UK and US are similar in this way; on paper every state of the US could be it's own country (self governing and whatnot) but we're united by the federal branches of government. You guys (England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales) are all united by the royal family and parliament (I might be wrong there) excluding Northern Ireland (again I might be wrong there)

So... Britain is a country?

Pretty good for a first bot, given the average level of newbies at DSL...
Not my first bot. First rammer. My DSL bot was one of the worst things imaginable, and got deleted a while ago.

MAKE IT 10 WD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111!!!
Dafuq?

first off, 4WD npc fasts with hypnos should be more than enough for this bot. certain wheels are given more grip than others, and as a result hypno wheels and techno destructo wheels dominate DSL.
secondly, it i horribly underweight. you could bring it up to 800 by adding many more weapons (spamming razors, LDS teeth, or large beater bars for examples, spike strips and ripping teeth dont tend to fare well.)
last, a skirt hinge isnt very good for wedges (i have been told a few times that skirt hinges can be good, but i havent been able to pull it off, so im assuming that it doesnt happen too often.) i would suggest a metal hinge with a titanium halfsheet and then a small wedge connected to it.

you can lurk a few showcases to see how its done (see: naryar's and 123savethewhales). the first half or so of scrap daddys showcase are also good examples of effective robots. around 2011 or so his style shifts from effectiveness to "how cool can i make this robot look, i dont care about efficiency" (otherwise known as IRL building). you can either choose effective (my advice above is for effective dsl building)

I thought about it, and it would probably be smart to sacrifice power for more damage and a srimech. Will do next time I play RA2.

It's underweight, add wheelguards or something
Okay. Later I will add some spikes and crap to surround the bot.

Just for starts, look at Scrap Daddy's showcase to get a feel for high standards of IRL.
I follow a few Realistic DSL showcases. I just happen to suck.

Alot of empty space, attatch the teeth on multiextenders not baseplate anchors, the poly wedges aren't doing anything, not invertible, and a bit bland. Skin? I'm happy you made a showcase though.
It wasn't very well thought out.

While not terrible for a first bot, you're going to want to use up those last 120 kgs or so. Maybe grippier wheels (Hypnos)? More armor? Longer wedges?
I was thinking hypnos, but I wanted more durability.

I'm bored. Here is my first ever rammer.

(Image removed from quote.)

I am probably only going to post bots that are either awesome (but probably won't be), or bots that can be improved.

post pictures so we can see the skin too please.

instead of the spike strips maybe try something like tazbot wedges.
The skin is just green, and I used spike strips so it can cause damage.
