another game streaming service like nvidia gamestream, but it doesn't require an nvidia gpu and it allows multiple connections. it's not perfect, and decent amount of the people probably won't be able to fully use it, but it's the best way we've tried so far.

It also sells your info to Brazilians, but that's already happened to most GTM users.

Challenge Board / Re: Challenge Belt - January 2018
« on: January 27, 2018, 12:19:54 PM »
"I win! I win! I win! I win! I must go and double my salary!"

But I personally feel that the execution of the idea only limits down the potential of the number of participates who can take part. Yes.  :thumbup

I'm aware that there are multiple factors to this including that how this forum has descended into DSL-IRL building, and half the forum isn't really in the swing of building anything but DSL-IRL, People were able to compete in multiple metas before. It's not like the mindset for the metas are too far off in a challenge belt environment, they will all be competitive before anything else. Even outside of the challenge board titles I see people brag about wins in losses in IRL anyway, so it's not like IRL is just for fun/for the art anymore.

So I much rather prefer the challenge belt rules to be rewritten so anyone can enter the belt to mainly prevent one person from holding the belt, all because they were the only one who entered. Agreed, this would have kept the fodder bot from winning the first month's event.

Dual perms should not be needed for this... thing. You can downgrade to TWMR2s, or whatever they're called, and get some more weapons on this piece of monstrosity.

The first one could be renamed "Spinner from the Occidens."
Was that video game tournament in which someone entered a robot based on Robot Arena 2?

"Must use slim wheels. NO shenanigans." is a contradiction.

Thinking of mega online tournament...
Gimmics
DSL IRL
HW
That's not a gimmick.

How whould this work
54 enerants (18 per region)
3 on 3, one house bot controlled by host (or a contestant if host is fighting)
Multiple hosts for multiple regions
Now fun part...
There would be 3 regions... USA, EU, Asia, mainly spit between time zones
Each host for each region
Each host will make own vids... (Us host, us vids...)
For grand finals, we set a certain date/time and fight it off...
Is this good? (No im not ditching my tourney... Ima finish it very soon)

I have comments:
You do realize this a massive project, right? Not even AI tournaments, where the entry requirement of building once within a time limit, get 54 entries very often.
How are you splitting up timezones? Is this for the brakcet? Are they sub-regions?
You'd need like 3 hosts too.

VS is an acronym for Vertical Spinner.
HS would be horizontal
FS is for the face. Like having a small grinder on the front.
SnS is for Sit and spin.
It's actually illegal to write spinner in some Eastern European nations, so we created these expressions.

Double-Sided Terror is better than most bots because of it being a creative and it looking like something you would have seen on TV in the 2000s. If you want "Red Dead" to really throw robots around you can make it a bar spinner with two giant hammers.

Hooray! I was rooting for Spin Boinker the entire time.

I might unironically build that in DSL-S.

Actually, I was under the impression you couldn't be selective when it comes to picking those that can press keys, but I think it was Jason being lazy. Even so, the point stands that, if one guy ****s up, he could blame it on his opponent pressing his buttons or the host rigging it.

I just meant that keeping as few people in a server at one time as possible reduces the total numbers of suspects for a button press.

As for blaming the host, you don't see people blame the host (U AID IT WRONG) often, do you?

I don't really get this

If two robots use a similar control scheme, you should probably be able to change one user's scheme without issues appearing.

Edit: It goes without saying, but you should tell someone that's the controls were changed, or let them set up the new bindings.
