I guess there are judt 3 people left who are active. all the others dont care bout ra anymore...
This comment irritates me. We've got a whole bunch of showcases active. Who are these three people you count as active?

New stuff ahoy. Decided to try my hand delving deeper into the GMF. There's the Nifty 6V reskin on the left, which is now 12V. I do have a 6V version of the texture if someone wants to use it instead of the stock Nifty skin, it is attached below. To install, overwrite battery2.bmp in the Components/battery2/maps folder. Then there's the 'new' Nifty 6V on the right. It's 2/3s of the height of the real Nifty, making it a bit more manageable. Lastly, I added a third attachment point to the small battery pack, allowing it to be placed on it's other side. There's an interesting issue that needs to be solved however: I raised each battery as high as the chassis allows. For some reason the game acts as if the battery was as tall as it is with the default attachment point when checking to see if the battery intersects with the top of the chassis. But the collisions are fine everywhere else. They can be stacked on top of each other like a tower happily, and I can't intersect a component with them at all. (I'm not counting stacking in the sense of the stock metagame)

*5th attempt to post after forum timeout errors. Holy balls, I was forced to try IE* I put this in DSL discussion as this isn't so significant in stock. At least I don't remember it to be. Not in modifications either as at this point it's more to do with game theory. I was just thinking about the thread and experiment on battery consumption ( https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php/topic,2654.0.html ) back in October 2009 and I don't think anyone has thought too deeply about it, at least beyond making use of it on bots. It raises some questions. Particularly, is it fair to keep the current burst motor consumption as it is when every spin motor draws '10 amps'? This is most visible in the heavyweight class, as a typical 2WD shell spinner can be powered by 19.5kg of battery (3 ant batteries) relatively safely, but a 2WD flipper or a hammer based may exceed 100kg of batteries alone to power the burst motors. That's 5 times as much weight on power for bots that already can't be a constant threat like a HS or VS. Burst motors have to retract, after all. If we change it, what do we change it to? My guess is that we scale down burst motor consumption to be in with spin motors, and reduce the power or general effectiveness of batteries to fit in with the scaled down power economy. Bigger burst motors can still draw more amps unlike the bigger spin motors, but you won't need to install a nuclear reactor for a burst motor like you have to today.

Putting out what I have right now. Not doing anything special until I get a go ahead or something. 398.7kg. Plastic 3mm, I think? Steel 1mm, 175kg.

It'll be a little harder in stock I think I believe I have my entry ready to go.

I just encountered this myself, couldn't log out either, clearing cookies and active logins fixed it. But why did it happen in the first place?

I've done small tweaks like that before (Adding more attachment points, weapon rebalancing, powering up arena hazards) so this could be up my alley.

Yeah, I had to steal Ripblade's thunder because I didn't have a clue how to build a DSL VS.
So how should I go about making an IRL VS?

Eeeh, the three versions of Godzilla beforehand had a wedge. It wasn't very good. V2 uses DSL-1s for plenty more grip. Weapon extender strength had to be sacrificed to accommodate them, but I've never had them break off before the extra wide plate, which naturally isn't easy either. 6 batteries to help in the later stages. Now, here's the MW I just built: Yes.

Been watching Nostalgia Critic have we? Good bot man. Looks cool and clean.
Used to, good eye. Good Burger was obvious, but Godzilla is a no-brainer for a heavyweight robot based on the movies. I'll try working on the bot's speed when it's not 1am. And when I'm not on a phone. I need a wheel that'll ride low like the rubber wheels but stay invertible. There's mot much room to work with given the side protection, and a rebuild will be tricky, at the least tedious.

Just to pitch in I believe Beta from DSL uses a motor for it's hammer with a specially made AI but it also has a special motor that limits movement to a 180 arc.

I don't have WBWAPS anymore but it wouldn't be too hard to remake I suppose.

To comply with regulations, Good Burger now uses a 40cm Titanium extender for it's flipper. Now, moving on... Godzilla isn't designed to win by knockout. It's designed to survive, relentlessly pushing forward, attacks bouncing off a nigh impervious defence while chewing up it's opponent with the jaws and ferocity of such a mighty beast. Nothing's managed to get it under 90% health yet in 3 minute testing. That's an Extra Wide armor plate on the front between the spike strips.

True, but at the same time a razor havoks 90% of the time the weapon is fired, and has to be fit in the chassis in a way that doesn't pass through the blue controller or the BSG, but also doesn't poke out of the chassis and become the equivalent of a non-damaging flipper. I don't have a spare gram, let alone a kilo for the small controller.

I'm still trying to come up with ideas for this team I am going to call Hollywood's Finest. In the meantime, Good Burger v2. 124.9kg, increased damage, actually gets under things, but at the cost of 1mm Plastic instead of 1mm Titanium. Worth it though.

Ah, fair enough. Yeah, being beat by 2 years fits with being gone for 2 or 3 years.

Sue me. Is this a first? A (kind of) serious AW DSL popup?

Cheers, it'll probably be Option C then, maybe I'll edit it quickly so the hexplate extender sits under a flippermaker for protection.
Any other ideas for a movie based AI team?
