Yes, the mechavore disc is on a servo, meaning that it can nip away at sides when the ring spinner itself is stopped. Servo is set up Icewave style.

Incredibly disappointed that the people of GTM would have this vulgar, stupid bot be on the front page. Can't we just let Grim Harvester stay there for another month? What kind of lesson does it teach new builders that a bot without even the slightest hint of consideration for effort, originality, or style can win BOTM? I can't believe that 19 users be so stupid as to vote for the bot that will destroy our forum and likely start multiple flame wars. I'm getting off this place as soon as I can and I suggest all those reading this do the same. GTM will not last long with this bot as BOTM.
