So Super Komodo beats Ryu: Hellfire, and Die Thyrus Die beats Ryu: Hellfire.
Very interesting. Got some tweaking to do before BB9.

Also, I may just retire from LWs, unless I can sort a decent weapon for reSpawn that isn't a drum/spinner

					Sorry for your loss, Tuna.
Think it was actually helloface's bot. But looking at the two, there's no real difference.
Was a refreshingly brief fight. I figure the next fight is going to be a lot harsher to my bot though.

I decided to try out the latest version, and that chassis builder is spot on. Will a chassis design take into account things like strength and rigidity for the chassis as a whole, or will each cross-member be an individual part that could be damaged/broken/cut?

Thought i'd made reSpawn invertible, but LWs are my weakness. Should have just figured a better weapon than a poxy hammer too, kept the side skirts.
 SLAF only scraped in too.

Just from my experience with the bot in Battlebots, I'm pretty sure it will do well here.
It's been upgraded inside to take advantage of the weight-limit, so if it performs as well as it did as a MW, i'll be happy.

Real disappointing end to both Carbon 7 and Super Komodo. Guess Mike gets revenge on me for the MW fight, but it was deeply disappointing how it happened.

					Kurt vs. DSC is up.
In both HW fights i've been scared of the hammers, wondering if they'd get a lucky strike and just knock the disc off. Starting to feel slightly more at ease.

I should have just re-submitted Refbot. Probably was not allowed in the rules though.

Not feeling terribly confident about any of my matches. Opponents all look perfectly matched to be more effective than my own.

Random Robot Battles is the only time you will see Carbon 4 winning a battle. Goddamn that surprised even me.

Years of skinning racing cars for games, and RA2 mainly. RA2 has the better texture work though.
I think the term is weathering, which is taking something and making it look much older/imperfect than it actually is. So for these forks, I basically took a black image, and built it up with textures and such to make it look like it's actually been used, rather than a pristine part.

Also, work big. Make it super detailed, and then scale down if needed. Much easier than taking a small image and stretching it so it's big but crap quality. Even 1024x1024 is relatively small by today's gaming standards, but for RA2 i'll scale it down to 512x512.

3rd Update: Skirts. As a FYI, the components are separate models. It's not just one big static object, in an ideal world i'd convert them to RA2 parts. The texture I made for the forks:

I have a texture sheet that has a top, a bottom, and the sides. What i'd like to do is texture everything from the top view first. So basically apply a material and then resize it so the texture fits over the model. Currently, when I apply the material to the model it tiles, so I have the same texture repeated over the model.
When I select a single face, and right-click, in the context menu there's an option for Texture > And then a few options that allow me to resize the material so it fits. But If I select any more faces, this menu is absent. This is my problem. There is no way for me to adjust the material for the whole object, I can only do it face-by face, and for an object that has 6600+ of them, thats obviously something i'm not going to do.

I appreciate the help but I was maybe a little unclear - I can get the texture I want as a material, and then apply that to the forks as a whole. But the texture is very small, so it tiles over the forks. What I'd like to do is select multiple faces at a time, and then resize the texture over all of them. But I only see the option to do that one face at a time.

Day 2's progress Unfortunately it doesn't look likely i'll be able to texture this properly - trying to texture the forks is a major hassle as it seems to only be do-able one face at a time.

It's part of the reason I chose to try Panic Attack first. Relatively simple body shape, but a complex weapon, so I think it's a good start.
