Went to watch this with a few 16-18 year olds. We all liked it.
I felt like there was something missing though. I think I wanted a bit more dialogue.
Also, the movie picked up the pace really quickly about half-way through and I didn't expect it; threw me off entirely.

Something that I was already interested in prior to the conversation. Was thinking of buying one. During the conversation, I went and checked the community market and found one for £59. Bought it and now I'm taking offers on it. I told this guy that I had found one and had bought it. He took it surprisingly well so kudos to him.

To make this clear, 100%, if it's a single elimination tournament then points are awarded based on games won.
Double elimination means that points are awarded for winning a round, not a game.
The reason for this is so that points balance out. For instance, if it was done on games won in a double elimination, the points would be severally imbalanced. You also have the chance of 2nd getting more points than 1st which doesn't make sense.
That's how I've done it and will always do it so it is as fair as possible for people joining the seeds.

If you're going to change the scoring system then you should create a new score table. Or you should just add the points at one per individual match like you're supposed to and then not be inept when organising future tournaments. I vote for option two.
I've said it twice now, I haven't changed the scoring system and I'm not going to. The scoring system is staying the same now. People wanted double elimination so I changed it to that for this tournament. A tournament we did with double elimination last time, I did the same thing because I realised the same mistake. I had forgotten about it. We're keeping it single now, for good.

Isn't this how it was before? Wouldn't make sense to change it now.
I've done this for double elimination tournaments in the past. This is why I'll be sticking to single elimination now with each round being worth a point to avoid any conflict again. Like I said before, Kurt would have got 7 and Unknown would have got 6. It wouldn't make sense.

The problem was that you would get 7 points and Unknown would get 6. It wouldn't make sense. To solve the problem, I've changed the points a bit to make it fairer. To solve the problem in the future, we'll only do single elimination.
