For those who are confused about Flee Beetle: the name says it all.  It just runs and hides and lets the other bots duke it out, and in the event that another bot attacks it, it's built to withstand a lot of punishment.  JoeBlo got it right: the goal is to survive as long as possible before I have to use my other bots, and hopefully by that time at least one team will be eliminated or weakened.

Also, the humor in the match videos is good, and the False Advertising bye team = win.  You should give them misleading preview pictures to complete the deception.

And that's why it's my favorite bot.  A strategy I didn't expect that works out pretty good for you.

False Advertising...I sat here racking my brain trying to come up with a decent theme for them, but couldn't think of it.  Then that popped in my head, and voila.  And misleading preview pictures...Who's to say I didn't, hmmm? :P

Anway, Heat 3 is up.  enjoy.

The silly comments between the fights made my day XD

What about the one at the end of Heat2?  I did that just for you lol

Heat 2 is up.

All videos are recorded.  Just have to edit them.  Heat 3 should be uploaded sometime tonight

might as well.  A chance for shamelessly promoting my friend's band...

Added quick writeups as well so people don't have to watch the long vids if they  don't want to...

first heat videos are up, fresh off the press....Enjoy

WWII The LW is looks good, but how many tourneys are you gonna enter it in!?!! the MW's spinner looks high, and the wedges are far apart, will it hit anything?
MW's a Top Spinner.

I guess it is a top spinner.  I considered it a hs because the way the weapons were facing.  I always think of top spinners having the weapons facing upwards.  And yes, it can hit, does so pretty well in fact.  Anyways, i'm off to build the last bye team and then start filming.

EDIT: Bye teams are all built.  Splash is updated and now for the fun part.

The Ogre's lair pretty good for a guy we haven't heard of yet, might do well. the LW shows you can make a reasonable S'n'S with 2 flails. Is the MW a Popup or a Whammer? if it's a popup it looks under-armoured, but it would be OK if it was a whammer. the HW looks ok, i can guess it's a popup, though it doesn't need to be invertible.
Emobot is a VS.  The weapon rack is just extenders that spin with razors attached.
Dees Tabbif Lipper is...I guess a rammer/flipper hybrid.  functions more as a flipper with a static weapon rack on the bottom to do a bit of damage.

Statues of Crist I love the use of the hex plate instead of a shell.
Thanks.  Just wanted to see how it'd work.  It might be an interesting prototype, but the current bot truly needs some work first.

This will be a good tournament, 'twas a good idea of yours, Yoda.

And thanks again :D

And by the way, expect the first heat to be posted sometime today (wednesday) barring any unfortunate incidents, or tomorrow if incidents occur

PREDICTIONS ! (okay, okay, no predictions, but COMMENTS)

CotW: LW: could probably do with more weaposn, MW is cool, not sure about effectiveness, and the Heavyweight I love.

World War 2: Lw fares pretty well in the test matches i've run, mw seems to have problems with self righting, and HW pretty decent at OOTA's.  It's also pretty damn tough

Freezepops:   sorry, you persistant youngling, but i don't see this one going far.  But, points for having the only hammer bot in the tourney.  Also, I couldn't tell you this before everything became 'official' but...Don't use perms for drive, buddy.

Team Pwn: Accretion disk is NASTY in a good way.  watch this little guy.  MW is pretty solid, but HW has some stability issues.  All told, a solid team.

All Hallow's Eve: Honestly, I just wanted to make a halloween team. I sacrificed a LOT for the MW.  But I HAD to have that chassis.   No real power here, 'cept maybe Samhain (Gluttony Jr.)

Bash'em Up: decent little rammer, bizarre mw, i always think it's facing backwards. hw's not too bad, but probably hurt by the flail rule.

Coleoptera: Flee Beetle!!! My favorite bot that  won't cause a single KO.  You really have to see it in action to fully appreciate it.  Kheper is cool, not sure about how well it'll fare, but i love the look of it and am rooting for it hard.  Gigawhirl, I think it's wedgier than it looks.

The Ogre's Lair:  The absolute strangest names for bots.  I gotta say, i'm pretty proud of him for these.  LW: much better than his first one, i'll say that.  MW: I think it might suprise you.  but, it really depends.  I've seen it last all of 5 seconds and in one test match, it actually swept everything.  HW:  Honestly the star of this team, obviously depending on the wedge.

Team S_M: LW: not a bad popup for sure. mw: solid flipper. HW:  Love the design, as i've said with other bots of this style.  but probably needs more weaponry.

Team Uncia: sorry about the name, I originally was asking everyone what they wanted, but forgot with a few of you.  Officially, it's now Team Uncia.  anway....LW: Nice flipper, probably won't fair well once the other lw's are out, but we'll see.  mw: decent hits and throwing.  HW: my second favorite bot of the tourney...that's all.

Team Plasma: lw, fares pretty well and get's some quick ko's.  MW.  haven't ran it through any test matches, but pretty sure a step up from your original mw.  HW: Tough as nails, but has a tendency to get pinned.

Anonymous:  LW: Doesn't score many KO's, but usually sticks around for awhile.  MW: Good build, should get some points for the team, HW..Not bad at all...

TTT10MTM: lw: a lot of the times, more a flipper than a rammer, and by that i mean it flips itself.  MW: zero invertiblity and no way to self right, like a turtle.  HW: I was actually hoping for a complex spinner to show up.  so :D.  However, weak weapons and piglet drive.  Sorry, bud, but it won't fare well.

Statues of Christ:   quick, fun builds, that's all.  Also a way to pad out different bot types.  Since we have 3 heats needing bye teams, i might make two more.  I'm sure i could throw some together real quick.  On a personal note, Gumby Jesus came from "Christ of the Ozarks", the absolute creepiest Jesus statue i've ever seen.  Big Butter/Touchdown Jesus no longer exists after being struck by lightning, and my personal favorite jesus statue, Christ of the Abyss.  The only one I know of actually submerged in the ocean.

Click's LW looks like a dummy. I'm not sure if it can take a beating from 3 LWs, though.
It doesn't have to last long in this format...

410
hmm..think i might be able to fix that...but, just in case...

Heat 1 is Bubbleman vs The Ounce vs Squirrel_Monkey vs Bye team

Allright, Signups are officially closed.  I'll accept updates for the next three days, at which point we'll get this underway.  And though sign ups are officially closed, Since there's still a few spots open, I guess I could take a few late entrants as well.

  • And last, but not least, Yoda, you are rebuilding GF93's bot Maximus.   You must make a HW Beater Bar Drum.

nice! been wanting to play around with a drum for a bit, but haven't had the motivation.  And i love the looks of maximus.

For bubbles, here's a link to my showcase so you don't have to go digging.

The small Perm 132 has always weighed 90 kgs for me.

The same for me.

well you know the extract and play version in sages sig works 100% correctly

That's the one i'm using.  He has also now gotten a clean copy of dsl, so it should all be taken care of.

Thanks for all your help guys.
