I presume that by looking at the pattern, .col would be the collision files. I dont think that the .chs, .are, .arm ect. files are recogniseable by programs, is there a way to open them up and see if they hold any other files in them? If not send a couple over and I'll see what I can do with them. As for meshes and textures for drop zone objects, sure send them over, couldnt hurt :3 And mwahaha an accomplice! ;D The Japanese Rooftop is one I was acctually really wanting to do next! :D I loved that arena haha! (And the Sao Paulo Scrapyard! :D)

Thyrus - On your head be it :P

Ianh - Hmmm... The stadium itself could be quite easy to do.... but how would you propose events like Javelin, Gymnastics and Fencing take place? :S Sprint I can understand (Clicks race mode), Long Jump and High Jump would be a case of best pnumatics, Weight Lifting maybe flipper power? Boxing just pnumatics with the Iron Gloves on the end, no problem (i've made a couple of boxer-bots meself :3) Wrestling.... just normal combat? :P

Thyrus - That's what I've not been doing. They'd probably find it annoying. If they want to help, then they can say for themselves, but I don't want to pester them.

Ianh - And what would your idea be? :3

Hmm well the robot wars one maybe took me around 5 hours? (give or take) but the WR one took maybe 2 hours, but that could be down to the fact that I was just going along just making something with no real plan, just seeing what fits where and looks good :P If I had a plan, between an hour and 3 hours :) The replicas took me an hour each aswell :)

GoldenFox - Shall be worked on :P

plazmic inferno - Well if I was to find someone who would want to work on it, I would quite like to work on a completely new, uber RW AI Pack of my own :)

Ianh - Absolutely! :D I'd love to help with something like that! I have plenty of ideas for arenas under those categories, so don't you worry! ;)

Welcome! Come in to my store, I have meshes galore! :D

Right, Enough of the Madonna lyric parodies :P

This here thread will be open for me to post any meshes I should make, whether they be Arenas, Replicas or Components :)

Here is some of my stuff for 'exchange' :P

(The forth one I was intending to be an arena for my new 'reloaded' version of Wild Robots :P

Basically, the rules are, if you are able to make it into a working RA2 component/arena, you can have it! :D

Other than that, they are pretty to look at! :3

Anyway, new stock shall be coming in soon enough, so stay tuned! :)

Modifications / New Robot Wars Arena (GMF/Coder Needed)
« on: March 31, 2013, 12:43:36 PM »
^^ Shall do! :P

And thanks! :) I might try and make some 'mesh-remakes' of some of the other arenas on the game :) (Fancy being my partner for this, Ducky? ;) )

Actually might aswell start a 'Mesh Market' thread :P I have a few robot replica meshes, ect. Might aswell post my meshes on there and if anyone fancies having a go at the mesh convertion themselves, then they're welcome to it :)

And by that I mean the side on the outside of the arena 'lexan audience walls' that has nothing there (you can see the arena wall with the roboteer pods and the two side with the audience and numbers, the remaining wall is the one that I'm on about)

And that's fantastic to hear- once they're on and sorted out, would you mind providing a few pictures of the finished mesh? Thanks.

Certainly  :approve:

I am quite proud with how this has turned out :P It's like 99% done, only thing that really needs to be done is the Drop Zone object (might make it a Washing Machine, but make it collapsible like the Computer in the DSL Test Arena, so it's more realistic than an unbreakable block of a fridge lol) and some details at the back of the venue (can't remember that well what went there...)

Other than them... It's done! :D Now to wait and see if anyone would like the job of coding to a GMF and PY (still feel it's rude to ask directly... lol) And I know it seems a bit dark, but hopefully once a few Omni lights have been added it should make it more brighter :P

Ducky - I might be able to do something.... Is there anything aswell for the robots? (Like the components, bodies, ect.?)

GoldenFox - Hehe I would ask, but I don't want to come across as an annoying noob :') I'd rather someone say that they wouldn't mind helping rather than me pestering them haha :P And well here's to hoping... :P

Good news! Few more details and I dare say that this mesh will be finished! :)

@Ducky - Ahh, no problem :) What else do you think you'd be able to get your hands on though...? (E.g. meshes...)

@GoldenFox - Maybe... it would most likely be the smoke particle effect, but I dunno if one of the more advanced modders would be able to tell me if this would be possible?

And as for making into a working arena... it is really out of my league for sure. I've tried already working between ASE and GMF, but everytime I keep hitting some form of snag (e.g. No collision, crashes game when clicking attach, positioning is completely messed up...) However the mesh always does show up, so that's some success I guess! So as i've said already - someone more advanced would have to do the converting part for me. I know I've said this already, but I'm really sure this time. I'm happy to give out the mesh when I'm happy that it's done (should be not that much longer...) But unfortunately guys, I can only do the mesh and skin. If you want this to be a working arena, I'll need a second person involved.

OMG Ducky, Thank you soo much! These will be a MASSIVE help! :D Was just wondering though (sorry to pester haha) but would be able to get the UI for say AOD? I think with the 'garage' music ect. a nice little UI pack could be put together haha :P

@Joe - Well if you would like a quick mesh... ;) And it's all currently being done in Milkshape - so it's literally just a mesh atm. However if you would like to have a go converting it to a GMF (ASE is the closest to a GMF - it can be converted with a little changing here and there, however I have tried an arena and it doesnt work so far, so something like this would be more in your area of expertise...)

@Resetti - The arena floor is level with the bottom of the pit :P

@Ducky - If you wouldnt mind! I'm really in need of all 3 skins for the garage doors, and the remaining 'number pannells' (the ones that go around the audience area perimiter). As for sounds, anything would be appreciated. No guatentee on what could be used, but might aswell have more of what I need than not enough :P

As for an update, not much ATM as been busy, however I have 2 weeks off now :) Sooo hopefully....

General Support / Re: Mesh falls through floor?
« on: March 30, 2013, 10:44:52 AM »
Thanks Trov, however it still doesnt appear to be working :/
Just had a slight idea - the way I meshed it was by mainly putting planes together, and IIRC, if a mesh is too thin, it seems to fall through the floor. It wouldnt be a problem like that would it? :S

Well all it would take is one click of the scale button and I can enlarge it if needs be :P (or shrink it for the Ants ;) )

Not too sure about that :S
It should be the same type as the ramplate collision :S

Well I guess the main things I will need help with are:

- Converting to GMF (Some things about it are easy, whilst others are hard!)
- Getting some form of commentary
- Some help with aspects of the .py file (Like hinges, fire, ect.)

Another thing I'd really love to do, but would definitely need help with, is make a version of this arena in the Pinball setup as the test arena! However while I could probably easily mesh everything like the barrels, ramp, ect., to make them moveable and not static is something I dont think I could do either.... :')
