So is the concern here just that we're not active enough? It's hard to follow all the different things people are discussing and what the big issue is that we're even trying to solve. Personally, I guess I don't really see an actual problem; not every community is meant to be super active, and being less active doesn't have to mean anything bad.
Regardless, what I would advise is to have better incentives that recognize people for their hard work. RA2 is a weird kind of game that's about being creative and sharing your stuff as much as having "fun" building a bot. I think something like an organized, official-looking system that recognizes and/or archives our tournament winners and hosts would be good. Everyone wants a taste of the glory when we achieve something we're proud of! Lots of people already do this in their signatures. Taking part in the community can be a lot of work and it should be encouraged with rewards that are more concrete.

Which part is it that you're running out of answers for? I'm fine with everything as it is right now; we're a small, niche community with small, niche discussions. Sure, those things you mentioned would be nice to have, but what exactly is the problem that's making you feel like you have so much responsibility here?

Should probably have something to help the opponent slide up into the spinners instead of the arms and casters.

I like the rammer, it's messy but scary. But, 4 pinks???
Popup could survive with less battery than that. And maybe try splitting that thicc chassis wedge into two or three arms?
HS could be made invertible?
Hammer could do with a lighter front rack so it can have some kind of trapping arms on the side.
Can't see anything in the HS but it's pretty.

Put an extender before the pistons and mount the drive off that so it's more stable and your motors are less vulnerable. If you rotate them right you should be able to get invertibility with shinies as well.

Since it's my GTM birthday and I missed the talk on discord, here's another post. I think music is a really important part of indie games, much more so than other genres - here are some good songs:

It was always coal miner for me. That's why I got so obsessed with Facespinners. I thought they had to be the best bot type.
This is a dramatic revelation! I don't know if I actually had trouble beating it, but I hated facing Ronin for its double wedge chassis.

It must have been difficult to recall something like this and type it out in a forum post; I hope sharing has helped you feel a bit better about what you're going through.
I think we all know that life isn't always fair, right, or justified, and everyone has been in a terrible situation where they felt truly abandoned by fate. I believe that you'll be able to find your own way to deal with it all, just like any person has to do when they find themselves in hard times. To me, she didn't sound like the right kind of person to make up one-half of a relationship, but if you truly care about someone, you'll be able to look past the flaws that others won't understand. Maybe if you had overcome your frustrations and really tried to help her, she would have lived through that night and you'd still be together. Maybe she was just too far gone and no matter what you did, the outcome would eventually have been the same. In the end, you can never know how things might have turned out, no matter how many late nights you spend thinking about it. Even if you did know, you can't go back and change what's already passed, so all you've got left is to accept everything in your own way and use it to become a stronger person. The world keeps on turning, life goes on, and your experience will reshape who you are for future years to come. So goes the story of life.

I liked Philippa/Pwn and Hoppin/Jamied. Gulden/Lightning and Pyro/Mystic were good too
Praise Lord Badnik for the resurrection of his laptop hard drive

>that asbesto-cropped weight
My guess is that the weapon motors being right there inside the drive is causing issues. The reactive force from the spinning Z-teks would interfere with the wheels trying to turn. Otherwise it looks good, assuming that very vulnerable T(?) isn't holding anything.

That's it, today marks another anniversary of the game that's kept our community alive for so long - happy 15th birthday to Robot Arena 2! Although we're not the same GTM that we once were, I think we've all got things to appreciate about our time here, and the fact that people are still around is a wonder in and of itself. Personally, I'll always remember Ava's antics around his DSL HW challenge title from last year. Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's signing card! I think it turned out really well, and it shows just how many of us were still alive and kicking in 2018. And if any stragglers still want to get in on it, I'll edit the OP with any more submissions I get for another week or so. With that, I guess we'll have to see if we can make it to 20 years come 2023!

I'll be doing this again for RA2's upcoming anniversary on Feb. 18. There's a link to the last one in my signature if you're wondering what it's supposed to be. Basically serves as a kind of time capsule which shows the members of the community at that point in visual form.
You can PM your individual signatures to me or just post them in this thread. I'll be updating this post each day to show how the image is getting filled out. Do not modify the active card, I only need your own signature. If you want it in a specific region or beside a specific user you can mention that too. There are no restrictions on image size, but larger submissions will be resized to fit in an area equivalent to 250 x 250, 500 x 125, something like that - reminder that there is a new attachment system for images uploaded through the site, but imgur or something works too. The card will be announced as "finalized" sometime on Feb. 18, so everything should be sent before that day, but I'll probably still add your signature if you're a few days late. It just won't be there for the day of the anniversary.
[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ] Until then, feel free to discuss the poll question or anything else about your experience with the game and this community. What are your favourite GTM memories from the past year or so? Or from your entire recollection of the forum? Do you still enjoy everything as much as you used to? What do you think this is all headed for in the future? Will RA3 ever be playable???
Whether you've been following or not, I've been adding new signatures to the OP each day and there's still lots of empty space available after the day 5 update! With the 18th fast approaching, tomorrow is the last day to send me your signature and get a guaranteed spot for the anniversary image, though I'll probably give you most of Sunday as well. I'll be making mine sometime tomorrow and look forward to those last-minute submissions.

OP updated with signatures for end of day 1! Really didn't expect to get this many submissions in the first 24 hours, but it seems people really enjoy this idea even for a 15-year celebration. Any updates or other requests for what you've submitted are still welcome before the 18th.

Are we also allowed to send profile pictures?
It doesn't necessarily mean your forum "signature," so you can send anything you feel represents you as a user. Though having your username somewhere is recommended.

I am appalled that I've only posted in this thread once before! I have a YT playlist of 100+ of these songs that I still update, and those are only my favourites. I will post a few from games that came out last year I guess, but more to come.
