Can it change to Bo3 matches? They're more hype.

No one noticed the special guest in the Wooden Spoon Cup? I paid money for that.

This is on slight hiatus due to exams, it will resume late January.

shh just let rob do a tournament

I do hate it when people want to disregard all due process just because something suits them.

I'd be very interested in watching robot boxing matches, and possibly entering into a boxing tournament, but Badger is right, you can't enter personal tournaments. If this was reworked as a full tournament id be all for it, though.

Who was the guy who was going to run a boxing tournament many years ago? He had extra rules like having to have a head that could get knocked off (For a KO) and the robot having to be taller than a barrel in the workshop.

Big thanks to Reier for letting me completely destroy his tournament format.

I do hope you have just been lazy with the OP. The number of votes hasn't changed much.

I haven't watched the second episode yet, but my problem with those filler bits in EP1 was that they were awfully introduced and edited. The interview they didn't shove in couldn't have been that bad, could it? Was I making funny faces in the background by accident?

There was an interview that took place which I was in the background for that didn't make it into the first special. I presume that's why we got all the godawful Overdozer/Terrorhurtz filler bits in its place.

Welp this thread is a thing sooooooooooo....
I kinda hate/love Chomp as its a great concept that works and is a meh bot BUT Chomp isn't good the driver's are as Zoe managed to stop Bite Forces s*** in seconds so its your choice :)

Wasn't the hit that crippled Biteforce's weapon triggered by the autonomous system?
Maybe maybe not it could have been both

It was a hit triggered by the autonomous system.

Chomp is a beautiful robot. It's a marvel of engineering (Scroll down through the photos of their Facebook page for proof of that). It's no small feat to make a 360 degree pneumatic hammer and they did that with aplomb. Pop the hood and you see that everything about that robot is beautifully designed. People seem to forget that people much more qualified than yourselves (or myself, for that matter) awarded Chomp the founders award this season, so it has to be doing something right. In the teams own words, it is awarded for "bringing an exemplary bot that does interesting things and pushes the sport in the direction in which the founders hope BattleBots will grow". It's one of the few robots that has implemented autonomous features successfully (case in point that hit on Biteforce) and there's not an ounce of excess weight on it. Basically it's CAD porn.

Unless you can come forward with evidence that they somehow influenced the judges decision outside of the fight, saying that you hate the robot based on a handful of decisions that people other than them made, is petty. The Disk'O/Chomp call was representative of the poor scoring system and that is something I hope changes for next season, but that is not related to Chomp. The (Incredibly flawed) judging criteria of season 2 and Chomp are two separate discussions and I wish people would stop mixing them.

So, to answer this threads main question, why do I hate it? Simple, that combination of green and yellow on the side, awful.
