I'm not nearly as worried as some of you guys seem to be. Although I doubt it's likely that the old components are a sign that the new game will be somewhat backwards compatible, I think its just no surprise or worry that they would still be finishing off modelling/collision mapping on the new components that we've seen a glimpse of in the concept art. At any rate, the devs are clearly paying attention to or are involved in this community, so hopefully the game will be mod-able as I think that's probably the most important thing a RA2 sequel should have. One thing I will say though is that the release date is actually a little disappointing, its too close lol. Seriously, I think this could be really great, but maybe even better if they did take more time with it, I mean we've been waiting 13 years and I doubt anybody even expected an RA3 at this point anyway.

I like it, but yeah was gonna say you could probably save a notch or two on the chassis height, and length too actually. Just saying, real menly men rebuild, they don't use BFE.

I'd also like to contribute, ideally for black storm or megaton, assuming i can get some quality bots flowing.

Just like to say, that this was filled insanely fast haha If you need another backup i'd be down (you wont need more than one though).

What other have said basically, front looks like neat, typical IRL style, the back though is kind of funky. It's like a piece of modern art, representing the directionless and convoluted nature of the modern world.

Messing around with drums: 799.8kg, Titanium 3, motor guard also allows it excellent wedge ripping capabilities. Still messing around with other versions of this, this one has nice wedges though. Sadly that is as close as I can get the snowplow with it still protecting the bottom half of the weapon motor, but the 60 Matilda teeth reach through enough.

I'd be interested since its dsl tbh. Not sure about the bot type thing entirely though, is the arena open? Otherwise giving your opponent flipper would be an easy win? Shame everybody loves me though, so i have no rivals...

Hi, sorry for the delayed reply. I've gone through those steps, but i think now its an issue with the drivers, probably caused by the other issues. Its a pain in the ass but ive reduced the effects somewhat by changing my power settings. I can work round it until i get home and can fix it, but yeah no need to blame RA2

Yeah its having it in fullscreen for sure, ive had the same result. Sometimes it will even screenshot your desktop instead. Its a pain but just switching to windowed mode for pictures will work fine.

Would anyone be interested in a small (8 player) standard IF tournament? Probably HW, BO3 double elim. I feel there aren't enough standard tournaments these days.
definitely

Looks super awesome. Is there a way you can AI it to make the drum spin the opposite way when inverted?
Oh, and would it be possible to rotate the blades by 90 degrees? They don't have normals on the flat side, you might get more damage out of it.
Cheers man, with that set-up it was impossible to have the blades vertical, so this is a version with 60cm blades instead set-up slightly differently, more efficient tbh (with titanium 10 armour now) just looks less impressive and is slightly less punty haha:

A bit bland for IRL atm, and too under-weaponed for standard.
Any recommendations to make it look better?
You could build a frame around the bot (incorporating the wedges or not), Motor/weapon protection, maybe a different or more elaborate wedge set-up.

SHW Trov chassis VS with invertible Mako-wedge, I call it Bipolar Butterfly (because it looks ridiculous): (Right way up) Blackbird drive, two dual magmotors for weaponry, Aluminium 3, 4 ballasts in the front. Wedge works surprisingly well, only problem is if it gets stuck on its front it can turn into a bit more of a bipolar fish...

i think you probably can get away with light panels and get an extra couple of knives on the HW itll also be lighter to just use 4 anchors to attach the motors to the chassis instead of a disk...also i doubt you have enough batteries
Too right they don't have enough batteries, both 10 amps underpowered! They were both based off a different bot which i should have showcased instead, which is the reason for the flaws, but ah well.

Nice, if a bit exposed. If you want to save quite a bit of weight to use on extra armour, you could always experiment with a trov. chassis version, though again that would necessitate a rebuild and could affect the wedges, but still could be cool.

I know about the motor, its stylistically designed to be that way. Another version use a 150cm disk instead of a bar for more weaponry and motor protection, but it just looks crap.
