I tried to re-make Gladiator to make it somewhat smaller and better. This is the end result. I give you...



799.3kg of pure pain, with Steel 3 armour, its no pushover. The axe hits much faster and harder than the original using the large burst piston.



Comparison with the original Gladiator.

Hi! Welcome to the forums!
The design is pretty sound for a spinner, though there are a few things I'd look at.

The bottom DSL bar looks like it intersects the Perm motor. While not really a problem, is a personal gripe.
I think the weaponry could be improved personally. If you are to do the 2 bar setup, I'd stagger the bars perpendicular to each other, this will make it harder for another bot to hit that piece of chassis.
As for the chassis, try rebuilding the shape to end at the Perm, the area with the weapons in could be shed to allow more weight to put into defence and weaponry.

I think someone will say things about the battery but I am no expert in DSL 2.2 so I'll let someone else do that.

But for a first bot it looks pretty good. If it works, it works.

Hey guys, in the period I have been away, I have also gotten an avid interest in music production.

This can be a thread where I dump some of my music. With Robot Wars coming back, I would also like to make music based around that as well as other things.

To kick off, have a 'remix' I did today of the DSL opening theme.

Due to all the wonderful things that are happening, with Robot Wars coming back and all that, I have decided to re-download this game and DSL 2.2.
I would like to start getting the habit of building things again, and now I have finally learned to run RA2 in compatibility mode so it doesn't crash every 2 seconds, I think I can do that.

By far the best thing I have built in the past few days is the HW axe-bot Gladiator, using those new piston burst motor things.



Armour is Titanium 3

Also, the first time I have ever de-frocked Grog.

I have forgotten how to wedges at this point. This gets outwedged horribly.

However, some showcase scanning and old critique reading reminded me of hinge and small wedge is best.




Armour is Titanium 3 again, and weapon motor is a 6-mag ultra thing. So fast.

I kinda want to keep with the vertical spinner thing, works well.

Also, any ideas on why the paint import export thing is still broken?

Yeah. It kinda has the bad habit of not winning anything, and getting really slow after like 2 minutes.

I'm reading through all the advice given to me back in the day, and then I'm going to rework this thing.
