I would think that overall it would be more fair if the teams were random, but if the majority of you guys want to pick then I could change it.

I have wanted to try a tournament for awhile, but I have been having computer issues. It will be a pretty simple tournament. There will be 8 teams of 2 people, each person will build a bot in a different weight class (LW,HW). It will be set up in 2 different brackets, for each round you win you get a certain amount of points for your team, as follows:
Lose any round: 0 Points
Win first round: 2 Points
Win second round: 4 Points
Win third round: 6 Points
At the end of all the battles, the points will be added up and the team with the most points wins. (Not sure what, might just skin some components or something) Basic rules:
- Stock (not realistic)
- No cheat components
- Regular combat arena without hazards
- Tournament cannot start until we get 16 people.
- I will choose the teams by random, you will decide with your teammates who builds what class though. You can decide on a team name if you wish. If you are matched with somebody you don't want to be with then talk to me.
- When I get 16 entrants and the teams announced, there will be 3 weeks to build bots and such, may be longer if required.
- I would like bots to be AI'd before hand, but if you can't I can do it.
- After 3 weeks, I will need some time to create a splash and get the bots all ready to go, but I'll post videos every other day unless something urgent comes up after that. (I do have time to finish this)
You can enter now, I will accept entrants until we reach 16. There cannot be more than 16. This is also to discuss the rules and such.

Bump.
If nobody else was planning to build the last bots, I would like to attempt to do a couple of the remaining bots, they sound easy enough. Its been awhile since anybody has talked about this, it would be nice to get it out.

Lurking seems to be good actually, you get a better start when you start posting it seems. I don't really have much to say about it, maybe you could just go down to 6 spikes instead of 12 so you can upgrade the drive to redbirds. Those motors are more for LW bots than MW ones, unless it does fine with them.

Which car was the derby winner? The third car from the start, the grey truck with turnout pipes. There were only 20 or so trucks that turned out, but some tough competition.

Yeah, I was never quite sure what the actual HP was, sounds stupid I know. I think that it is higher than that though, probably 350-375 when I think about it. I was planning on doing a lot of work to prepare it for a drag racing car, completely new engine and all that. I just picked up a new car to work with so I might just experiment and see if I can do it with that one.

Yep. :D Here is some information I can think of off the top of my head. Haven't seen the car since July, its in storage but I plan to get it out this weekend. - 350 Smallblock - Manual (Duh.) - 400-450 HP... not really sure, probably should get a dyno. :P - Hotchkis Rear Suspension Kit (Recently bought, not currently on the car) - Custom hood, can't remember what brand though. - Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold. - Flowmaster Exhaust Pipe Kit When I first got it the car it was rusty and just a mess really, and when I started to restore it I wanted to keep it mostly stock. I changed my mind over time and I am actually debating wether or not to make it completely a drag racing car. I take it down to the track in the summer anyways, but I still think it would be cool... dunno. Goose, you can have that car if you want it.
