I say we judge the just-completed-tournament's worth, and then give a deadline according to that.
If it is well done, then go straight away. If it is ok, maybe wait a little for the guy to prepare. If it fails... BAN from tournament section.
Maybe the ban parts a bit harsh, but the rest sounds fair enough.
It worked for TX well enough. And I means failing like REALLY failing. AKA Terror Twisters (something LRA2 did).
Hmm, yeah, actually it does make a lot of sense to ban them, perhaps there should be some kind of limit on how long you have to be here before you can start a tournament though aswell...

Yeah; there was a 6-month period where I kept on forgetting to post replicas here. I'm planning another championship, which Barry will be involved in, so I decided to drag it out of the garage and post it here.

Another thing is I think a razor reconstruction bot would get its ass kicked in RA2 - the AI would just run away - the fiend.
Errr, you should go in exhibition mode, there are replicas of real life bots in there to fight against.

Well, you can use a burst motor starting at the down position like razer in dsl.
When it comes to a servo style crusher though, I started a thread asking about that kinda thing, and people seemed to say that it wasn't really possible, but I think jobloe was working on something like it, don't know what he managed to do with it though...

What I usually do is build the largest possible (sticking to grid) version of the shape of chasis I want to build, make the bot, check that the idea could work, then resize down to what I think will fit.
There's nothing worse than having to rebuid the chasis WHILE trying to make a prototype of a bot.

You the lose that point for not seeing that there's a thread for all discusion of dsl 3.
Then again I give you that point back, because this can have a thread of its own actually.
I don't think you could, I may not knoww that much about the inner workings of RA2, but I know that it'd take quite a bit of programing to do that.
Also, I think a lot of builders pride themselves on having tight chasis's and therefore won't want any newbie to be able to build as tight chasis's as them.
Plus people like shouting EMPTY SPACE here for some reason.
