Cheers Badnik, Been a member since about 2003-2004 actually, I remember I joined the RA2 community around the time that the first Dark Pack came out. I disappeared not long after I made the skin for AON arena which surprisingly is still available from the beetle bro site. I think it could do with an update though! Anyway, has anyone done Rosie before?

Bloody hell, that's a canny few replies. No I'm not making anything that's either not on the list or what I don't think was popular enough from RW. As for Tiberius, I'll get the components uploaded for you all but not the replica itself as it is a cocktail of other people's custom components and I couldn't possibly provide them all. Natster, yes the strimech arms damn well actually! Thyrus, cheers for erm... letting them know! Anyway I have a minor update. Can anyone recognise which contender this is? This is the MkI shell I made which is wrong for Rosie but bang on for Tricerabot so it might be worth doing that as well but only as a later addition.

If you mean the Spitfire shell then no its still an arse to get underneath stuff with a low ground clearance, if you mean Wraith then I haven't made a crack at it yet... but I have made something american.

This thread is starting to get stupid now. If people want to make something decent then take the advise given from the experienced or just sod off, cant imagine how people like that would last with a job. Here, lets hope this gets the thread going again without pettiness.

Its from Whams pack with upgraded parts and more inclined body and wheelie bar. I could be bothered to do my own entirely from scratch if I'm honest. I could do a few custom parts to upgrade his Panzer mk4 into Wraith though, particularly by making a plough which actually gets underneath the opposition.

Here Tom, this might be of better use to you, I'll pm you a zip with the botfile and parts shortly.

They didn't cheat. It complied with the rules, it was just a smart way to get around them... the gits.
Anyway, Isn't there already another thread for this?

Trov, I am willing to make robots such as Dead Metal, Sgt Bash & Shunt but to be honest, I cant skin for the life of me so I would have to make a set of components grouped by texture and then cobble then together in RA2. from then on I dont think its possible export an entire bot including the attached components as a GMF. What I can do however, if it helps silence the question that people have been asking for the past twelve years, I can make each entire robot unskinned and pass the files onto you for skinning and exporting?
JD, the closest thing I think were going to get is a static house robot that fills a corner but can be moved around, much like the fridge in the RW arena. But in my opinion, keeping within the confines of the games abilities, that is the best your going to get and we'll have to settle with it. As long as their presence improves the look of the arena I think everyone can remain reasonably happy?
Also if it quietens things down at all, I am planning to get a simplified Series 4 and 3 arena into the game so players have more 'realistic' arenas to choose from. I wouldn't hold your breath though as there has only been 9 people in the last twelve or so years who have made arenas and I'd be damn lucky if I can become the tenth.

what mod is that?
Probably the one HB's on.
I was wondering because of the countdown graphics.
Well the majority of the UI has been written over the top of the DSL UI so since I havent replaced the countdown graphic yet, I'm assume it came from the origonal DSL pack. Right, did anyone ask for a Steel Avenger replica? More pictures here: https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=15064.msg634006#msg634006

Cheers lads, I'm glad you lot like it because I don't. I do like what I've done here though, now this will be in the pack!

Cheers lads, yes I would have preferred making the Series 7 Robochicken but it was an arse to skin so I gave up! Heres the new Tiberius but I didn't really make an effort with this (as you can probably tell) so this wont be making the pack.

Upon requests, here is a new Tiberius III utilizing a set of freshly made costom components. I have to admit, when I made the parts, I was paying no attention to the real thing what so ever so it is a bit off but here it is anyway. If anyone wants the custom parts for this then just say. Also if anyone has seen my Robochicken and improved Hypnodisc from my thread, then they will recognise these. They had a bit of a tussle and despite being well armour, the viagra powered Hypnodisc I've conjured up just ripped through it and almost glitched the game in the process! Hope you like these!

Please excuse the bluntness of this message, I spent quite some time writing the previous reply out merely to get a crash so I'm not in a good mood right now.
Cheers Trov, its quite difficult to get an understand of what is needed to be done when there are no tutorials of suitable threads for this kind of thing so I am very greatful that your willing to offer your help.
The GMF of the file I want to edit is attached below, this is the saw section of the GMF which I assume is what I need need to replace.
EDIT: the gmf code were too large for the post so I have attached them as well

Right I understand that this topic is quite ancient in internet terms but I think it would be best to post here rather than make an entirely new thread for more or less the same subject. I use 3Ds Max 8 and I'm having a crack at arena editing before I make the full dive into creating an arena from scratch presumably in a similar manner to how components are made. I decided that replacing the saw blades in the Robot Wars with the angle grinder bumpers would be a good start so... I selected the sawblade text in the gmf file and replaced from *Mesh to the space above *BACKFACE_CULL with that of the exported model of the grinder under the display and collision but when I tried compiling the file it resulted in a constant stream of errors and upon loading the arena in the game, it crashed. So, what Am I doing wrong here and is there a similar method of getting it working in arena? I understand that there is a more visual way of editing arenas as Wham has posted a screenshot of the editing process when he lowered the arena walls but I have no idea what it is and how to use it. Also before it starts sounding like I'm badgering everyone, how do I resize the arenas as I think the RW arena is also far too large to look accurate. Yep, was able to lower the walls:

Seeing as this isnt for my RW expansion pack, I thought Id post Tiberious III. No where near being my best replica but it works damn well! I'm tempted to make a proper shell and claw for it then include it in the pack now. Also a rough looking Robochicken and an updated Hypnodisc (including a component download link) are in my thread here: https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=15064.msg633428#msg633428

Looks like Chernobyl It is then! Right, just need a bit of brushing up on my skills and to understand how the area attachment points work and I should be able to get something going. If anyone can offer any advice then please do! great work here I would love to see major tom from series 6 and extreme 2 also mousetrap? not to be too demanding though love this work
I do think Major Tom Is essential but I think it would be too difficult to get the skin to work on the model without warping. I'm assuming all this crap could be easily corrected but there isn't anyone doing custom components at this moment in time. Wham obviously had the same issue as me when he made the Roaming Robots pack but looking at replicas such as Diotor, he obviously found a way around it but he doesn't come on the bloody forum any more. I work at Nissan doing body wrecking shifts on the assembly line AND co run a 3D printing business, I regularly go out clubbing and my girlfriend is always over but still I find the time to get on here somehow. 3 things: 1. Will you be replicating ALL of the series 7 robots? I'd love to see rhino, Grim Reaper and judge shred 3! 2. Please keep the UI! 3. I know I'm being pedantic but PLEASE send me your first replicas like kronic and Raging Morg. Also the old tsunami and the new one!
1. Hell No, so would I but nope. 2. I intend to, I'm only going to be touching up certain areas and improving the colours. 3. No haha. Wait and see what comes out of this pack, If I sent you everything before everyone else, then it wouldn't be very fair would it? Right, while waiting for your replies, one evening I knocked up Robochicken to try and touch up my skills and I have to say, from the rear I'm chuffed, from the front where the head is, I'm absolutely disgusted. It has not worked out how I wanted it to. Once I can get the skin working on the front body block, then I'll work on the head and make a blow up glove for the head properly. I'll tell you what though, its a damn good fighter! But to uplift a few spirits, here are some new wheels for Hypnodisc. They are an optional extra to make the robot look more true to its real like counterpart and they are now available for download here: https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=188 It might be worth mentioning that in this picture, I am infact using Chaos 2 and clearly getting my arse kicked.

Cheers lads, TommyProductionsInc, your too kind! I dont have as much confidence in myself as you seem to in me, its very uplifting to hear. Badnik, increasing the grip value doesn't seem to work effectively on this particular wheels. Akshaylan, the elements of the skin were taken from screenshots i took myself on the game. I have noticed that I have erased a section of a corner piece and there is an annoying aura around the menu board. All will be corrected in time, unless I forget. Right, I'm going to have a crack at actually making an arena now, I have a few ideas for what to make but I could do with an opinion or two for which would be the most desirable yet simple. The ideas I have listed are very different from the obscure things people usually come up, I want my arena additions to have the same natural dark ere atmosphere depicted in RWED. First arena idea is something based in the well known location of the worlds largest nuclear disaster, Chernobyl. Generic Abandoned Warehouse. Naples Catacombs Or an abandoned mine! Now before anyone complains that these ideas are not legit arenas, well keep in mind the the DSL crew and Robot Wars game developers made arenas of the same idea and concept as this. Just probably not this dark. So, which shall I have a bash at? Chernobyl will most likely be a plain arena with bumper cars as obstacles and a low bumper wall as a flip out zone. The abandoned building would probably be the simplest to start off with as it would be a box arena. Naples' catacombs have the open tombs which can act as pits but hats generally it. And finally the coal mine, which could be collapsed at one side to prevent wandering and have the pit gates and shaft at the other to act as both an OOTA and pitting zones.

Thanks again lads, the buttons do need tweaking a bit so the hues match the background. I'm not looking forward to doing the main menu though. amazing work.
are you skinning the claws with a bmp or do you use hexcolors in the gmf like the domeparts do?
I skin stuff with either bmp or tga through Photoshop, mind I dont know anything other than that to be honest. Small bit of news... something that isnt on my list. I've never been happy with any of the Wheely Big Cheese Replicas that have been created for the game as they tend to be missing out the detail on the body and the bottom flipper panel is never the right shape so I decided to make my own designed in the same way as the toy. The skins all work as I wanted them to which I'm very pleased about, just need to add the logo to the flipper panel. I hope you like it lads! The wheels are obviously from DSL and dont provide much grip so I might reskin another pair of wheels of a similar size to create WBC's exhibition tyres for player use.... And yes the flipper is powerful, it can easily throw 1000kg about 15-20ft in the air.

Cheers lads! I do plan to get Bulldog Breed (DSL) & a new Storm II into the pack. I've given the former a very nice power upgrade on the flipper and it is now able to flip robots out of the arena. Storm II i want to redesign myself as the DSL version has a tendency to flip itself when it rams something, I want it to ram robots into walls at full pelt... Mind If your not careful battling my scoop equipped Tornado then it will ram you out of the arena! As for M2, Ripper & St Agro... we'll have to wait and see what happens. Supernova on the other hand is essential merely for the fact that it is from Sri Lanka, never mind its destructive capabilities! Thyrus, normally i can but because of the odd wedge(ish) shape of the claws I cant, although I do have a cunning plan but I will definitely not be able to skin them. I've been playing around with skins again last night. Please tell me what you think, my apologies for the old font still being there, i haven't a clue how to change it.
