It was a video from Scott Manley that made me want KSP. So yeah, I know his videos for quite a while.

The other one I'm going to check it out but you missed the comedian guy:

The entire shell attached to a hinge... Intriguing.
The only thing that bothers me are those hinge bits sticking out

The ripping teeth are the only thing that can do some damage and they surely look like they can pointing like that. I think you could keep them. Beater bars could maybe do better but they don't have the same range as those teeth.

You're powering the weapons with a NPC. That's a drive motor. It wont be as effective.
You could switch to a TWM and you'll save some 10kgs for more weapons or for the additional support you need. The side panel has 3 attachments points, (in one side) so you could attach a 10deg angle on the bottom attachment point and then attach the skirt on it. If the the 2 skirts are misaligned, just adjust the left one accordingly.

ahaha, thanks, m8

I know you can all see the difference, apart from really new members. IRL is pretty obvious. But Rob thought 123's components were re-skinned parts so that's an example. So it's better be safe than sorry.

If nobody cares about it, I prefer leaving it as one showcase instead of separating them.

I can always note in the bot's name that it has custom parts. Like I do when I want to point out that a bot has to be seen as IRL

Mmm... I've been posting bots with 123's modpack since October and nobody warned me about it... Maybe because I do more of art bots than actual fighting ones.

I thought they were re-skinned parts. Shouldn't this be in the Custom Showcase section, then?

Not sure about that. I think custom showcases are for showing new components that you made? I didn't make these. They are all 123's components. Most of the components actually made some of my bot ideas possible, such as Fireflower.

If I ever do send it in a tournament, it shouldn't be hard to switch the modpack's components in it.

Here's an IRL HW with a lovely dead on 800kgs

Inspired on Galacticruler's GrandSlam

Average speed and average agility
As predicted for a tall bot it does have some stability issues but only while doing tight turns at high speed. Even if it does fall over, it has a full proof srimech system.

Don't DSL standard rules dictate that the weapon can't cut through a perm's belt?

Is this really true? I always thought DSL Standard was all about effectiveness and nothing about realism

Good god! 6 awards?! Maybe I should really nerf my building.

Cheers, m8s!

Very well built! I really like it!
Is it 4 wheeled? Those vertical DSL discs on the sides appear to hide the other 2 wheels
Is it possible to have a shot of the back?

Is DSL 2.1 the popular DSL
or has it updated to something new?

DSL 2.1 is still popular but there's the new DSL 3.0, which in my opinion is way more awesome, here:
You just need to dig through the spoilers to find the download

Showcasing, especially if you're very good, isn't really that great though. When you're very good, you just get the generic "Awesome!" comments, which is nice but not really anything that will keep this community afloat.

As long as I have Bots and ideas to share, I'll do it. I don't mind if few people comment or none at all. I know they will look at it and that's enough for me

When you're not so great, you get feedback, which is also good, but as I've found, I can never really make a robot that gets complimented, so I just give up.

Try harder. Show that you really are trying hard. Make yourself visible by asking for feedback and help if none comes along.
So far I've seen a lot of Veteran members giving a hand on both Stock and DSL showcases, complementing, giving suggestions for new guys. Obviously if the suggestions are refused, the Veterans will refuse to help too.
