i'd say that aslong as you don't see most/all of the metal hinge, it's fine.
It doesn't function realistically though.
yes it does, put a low to the ground axle on a bot and it's pretty much the same. the only thing that bothers me is when it sticks out of the chassis unrealistically
That's a skirt hinge, or an axle mount you're thinking of. A Metal Hinge physically forces the wedge into the ground. If this mechanic was applied in real life, the bot wouldn't be able to move forward. It would simply get stuck in the floor. Metal Hinge, or "sprung" wedges, are exclusively used as side protection, as the bot doesn't move sideways normally. Panic Attack is a very good example of how Metal Hinges are used IRL.

motors must either be inside the chassis or have sufficient supports
1. It must be at least slightly combat effective if it was to be used IRL. So no rammers with axe spam, or popups or flails etc.
sometimes flails can be irl
Flails like The Mauler are IRL. Flails like Iron Spaghetti, Minifridge, are not IRL. Flails cannot be used in the same plane that the weapons are spinning in. Also Skirt Hinges should NOT run parallel to the floor, or at any angle which it would dig into the floor and become stuck if it were in an IRL arena. External motors should ideally have supports at three or more points which are not approximately in line, but can be on the same plane.

Sigh... Someone remind me why I am here.
Because there is an unusually large void in your schedule, and your left hand can only do so much?

Metal Hinge Wedges = Poor Show.
Aside from that, it looks pretty good. I really do like the use of Beta Panels as supports, though, and the skirt hinge wheelguard things. I'd consider replacing the skirts for Side Panels, that way you might be able to get them long enough to cover the wheels without going over the edge. Perhaps Baseplate Anchors or ME's would be better to attach the Small Wedge somponents with. If we got an internal shot, we might be able to see why they don't fit. Also, why are there two Perm chains there?

I can't say it was intentional. I thought his drums were built from DSL discs on the top and bottom. Plus there's that drum like this in my NAR AI team, I built that back in November. (Man Trap, Gauche =P)
wait, i thought Man Trap was the SHW, Bear Trap was the HW =P.
Man Trap was the HW, Bear Trap was the MW. Scrap Daddy did build a bot called Bear Trap for BTTB2 which was HW, that might be what's causing confusion. The SHW on my team was called Death Trap, though.

Trying to make a HW for one of the tournaments at the moment. 798.6, Plastic 10, 4 ants. NPC Normals (12KHP), Perm 132 Small (8KHP), and 40 LDS teeth. Poly skirts on the back protect the chassis a little, but mostly protecting the CF extenders. Steel skirts protecting the chassis, Titanium stabilisers, angled so as to get the weaponry as low as possible without hitting the ground. Likes removing exposed components/wheels, esaily capable of scoring over 150,000 points per match. Flipper segments have so far not been taken off. Also invertible.

I miss him too. Thankfully my evening marksmanship classes have really improved my aim recently.

When did telling someone to "get murdered" become a joke?

Perhaps ACAMS has banned everyone called Steven. Or October 16th is GTM's Annual Bass Fishing Day. There may be a million obscure rules that only he knows about, and none of us have a clue.

I'm going to be blunt:
It's a great bot and will go pretty far, barring stupid matchups or bad luck. I can't tell if that's sarcasm or not. That's the thing with you. Glad you like the skin, though, I was wondering if 1024x1024 was too much. But any drive other than RADs would have meant that too much weight was spent fitting everything into the chassis, and I would have either had to lose the wedge, the caster defense, or both. Hence the pre-building maths, it's annoying as planning something out, only to find you don't have the chassis weight right for it.

Yay pre-building maths and ultratight chassis. Presenting a possible RIW4 entry, Creep. 248.9 sans Smartzone, 1 Black, DSA. Snapper2 wedge, which is wedgier than most of my bots, and 3 eFFed razors on another Snapper2, which also self-rights. RAD drive, so it's a bit slow, but the five casters help against HS and the like, despite the narrowness. Although opponents do get caught on them sometimes, but that doesn't happen often enough for it to be a problem. Should do very well once I get the AI and Smartzone placement sorted out.

SnapperII on its side, 20cm from the axle and secret AP. It's slightly similar to Death By Purple 3, except that used all maces and had a ramplate instead of a plow. In that case, it should do pretty well, I'm just wondering if the weapons are a little bit high.

You've still got the loser's bracket to redeem yourself. =D
Also, PMbomb'd.

They are all names after characters in British comedy sketch shows...
LW looks alright, not sure if the central hammer is unrealistic or not. MW looks good as well, should be tough if it can get under the opponent. Plow might hinder it a little, though. HW does look good, side spinners look a bit small to me, and I'm wondering if the VS will knock opponents away from them.
Overall a pretty strong team. Should do reasonably well.

Looking very good. I'd consider swapping for Irons for a bit of extra reach. Also, how far over the corners of the machine do the casters extend?

I'm not too bad at archery, going by the twice I've actually tried it. The only weapon I can think of that I have is a 6lb sledgehammer.

Decent LW. Not sure if it's anything new. (Image removed from quote.) 248.7, DSA, 2 stacked Nifties. Also invertible, probably. Weapon motors and Snowplow are all on individual BA's stacked together. I'd originally wanted the bot with irons or maces, but the Snowplow BA wouldn't exostack, so I used a 20cm extender and gave the bot a second Nifty.
Can you raise the drive Rads and the BA that holds the snowplow by 1 click so that it can have a lower groumd clearance?
I don't think so. That would mean raising the CB as well, and I don't think I have the space to do that. I'd say given that this setup is wider and not held by a single extender/connector, this should be even better than CP4. Me gusta
It certainly appears that way. I've tested it against pretty much all the LW's in Starcore V4a, and it destroyed everything. ...everything.
