Final Z finished second in BBEANS 6. I kloned it somewhat for Wheels Are Tasty 4 1/2, which finished fourth in Clash Cubes IV. So it's a pretty good design if you get it right. The exposed 400HP motor is a worry, though, but you can survive relatively well with it. I'd have something on the underside of the disc, just to keep the weapons off the ground.

Longer Perm? Either that or mount the drum on the top part of the axle.

Plastic 10 armour is generally overkill on a serious bot. Titanium 3, or Plastic 5 is generally a good choice. Plus, when it spins, only the weapons on one side will hit the opponent, the opposite weapons will be useless. I'd swap the complicated setup on the ends of the bar for a big heavy hammer, ideally the 70kg one if you can get away with it. And a tip that will be very useful, spin motors need ONE ant battery to work at maximum power for 3 minutes. No idea why, but it's just how the game works. That'll save you some more weight for either weaponry or defenses.

I'd say showcasing it would be a better option, because you'd get a multitude of opinions, rather than just one. I might be completely wrong about how the bot should be improved.
![]() If you don't showcase robots, though, it's going to be harder for you to improve your building skills, without the advice of other members. It might be quite blunt sometimes, but it's still worth listening to. 3786

There are exceptions to this, however, but you learn these exceptions through time more than anything else. I would say S_M is one of the regular members who offers good advice on most things, and is worth listening to. There are others, as I've said, but experience is the best teacher in those circumstances. 3787

I think because they thought they could get a reaction out of him. Unfortunately for them, he surprised them by not giving a toss the next time they tried it, so they sort of gave up.

That's true, there was a bunch of members who just said "Can't let you do that, GTM". And repped him back up again. Which bizarrely resulted in him being on both the Most Praised AND Most Smitten lists.

He did get a bit upset when people started repping him down for no reason. I think that's one of the main reasons the new system was put in place. They tried it again, but it didn't work out at all.
GF93 is definitely improving, in my view. Still got a little bit of the exaggerated Flashheart persona going on, but he's been handling stuff quite well, I reckon. Especially with that whole "Operation Rep Down GF" that never really got off the ground. 3790

I do rant sometimes, if a topic is brought up that I feel quite strongly about. Such as religion, football, or celebrities. In my mind, the human race would be far better off without any of them, but it's become apparent we're not going to get rid of them any time soon.

By not mentioning it.
I'll have a scout about the thread to find one of my earlier rep rants for you. EDIT: Here you go. =) Oh, for crying out loud. 3792

For a first bot, that's actually pretty good. You've got a good choice of motors and weapon components there, and it looks to me as though you might have DSA (Double Strength Aluminium) on it as well, and eFFe glitched the weapons on. Very nice that you know these glitches already. However, there are a couple you can do to improve it.
Pink Batteries are almost universally never used outside of the Antweight and Beetleweight classes. For this, you ideally want a Nifty Battery. It gives you 50% more power than three pinks, but is only two-thirds of the weight. You'd need a slightly taller chassis for that (three "clicks" of the chassis height slider), but it would provide much better longevity for the weight. Shiny Hubs are almost always the best wheel choice you can have, due to their supreme lightness compared to other wheels. This would give you an extra 12kg to play with, for things like extra weaponry or defenses, which I would say this bot needs. Maybe something like a plow on the front to protect that exposed HPZ motor. Another way to protect the HPZ - by mounting it inside the chassis - would be to try something called Snapper Loading. It's one of the trickier glitches to get right, but it saves a huge amount of weight from a larger chassis and heavy extender setups. You need something called the SnapperII Burst Motor (It's in the SZ+ AI Components download if you don't have it), and Sage has a video on it in the Tutorials board (RA2: Tips and Tricks). ty4er suggested an Axle Mount, but that causes something called the Axle Glith of Death, or AGOD, where the position and collision mesh of the components is messed up, plus the robot tends to be quite unstable. There's no way around it, unfortunately, so I'd try to avoid that as much as possible. tl;dr - You've got some good potential. Take on people's advice, lurk around to see what works, learn some more of the glitches, and you'll be building great bots in no time. =) 3793

I really like the looks of that thing. I would try to have the stabilisers at less of a backward angle, though, it looks as though the bot could tip forward as the weapon spins up at the moment.

40cm parallel to the one holding the weapon motors on? I think it looks alright now, you just have to try and find a way of making it invertible.

Ah, right, I see where we were going wrong. =) Would the bottom drum be able to be removed, thus the DSL disc and Lightning spikes could be added? You could use a Large Drum component instead of two mediums, I think that would look a bit more of a likeness, personally.

DSL TC Showcases / Re: Ayak420 Showcase Need Help« on: October 14, 2011, 01:48:46 PM »
Micro Wheels are a bad choice. You idealy want Hypnos, or Minis if weight is an issue. Good choice of weaponry, though, razors are the most effective choice for Flail Sheck Spinners, but I wouldn't have Light DS teeth there, they won't be hitting anything because of the flails there.
