Try the weapon setup I used here, DSL discs are overkill.  Everything is mounted off the side panels.

1WD's overrated
Saves on battery power, less extender work, more weight fore weapons... I am really not a fan of 1WD bots. They'd only really work when there's one spinner, with the torque turning the bot in the other direction, so the 1WD would cancel it out and the bot would actually move forwards.

Transport Tycoon just got a complete open-source release last month. It is still rather fun. Good little sandbox game similar to SimCity. I just downloaded it and started playing again. I used to love the original game back in '96.

Why not use side panels rather than Discs?
Also, IMO the motors are better closer to the chassis, rather than to the outside.

I would but then the weapon won't hit as well. In testing, nothing knocks them off due to the crazily powerful weapon.
