General Support / Re: Robot Arena 2 Not Working on Windows 8?
« on: March 25, 2016, 05:44:05 PM »
You gotta go to your windows folder and delete system32 that's the program that keeps RA2 from working properly.

don't troll in technical support, bud. You've done enough funny stuff lately, so chill.
Don't worry, I know what it does anyways :/

I would print screen or even press the screenshot button, but it keeps coming up as a black screen.
Might it be with my computer? Do I need to change settings or something, like how it reads the arena files?

Same thing happens to me. I just put it in windowed mode and it works just fine.

tbh, that doesn't even make sense. I mean, the hovercraft and cannon sorta make sense, but, the magnet just doesnt. How does a magnet run with carbon dioxide

If anything, what I wanna see is some type of parts editor, that doesn't require you to go into the files of the game and mess around with it. Sure, they can be banned online, like in RA2, but it would make modding so much more beginner-friendly

I love BLACK CHICKEN. It's like a weird racial slur. I love it.

cheatbot2 allowed? That weird

Not just allowed, it's required
Required? And then need Middleweight to join This BOTM Apr 2016?

Yes, you need a middleweight bot that incorporates at least one cheatbot part. Anyway, this is a battle on looks, not function, so I don't see why you're so worried.

Uh... what's the point of the box on the front? The back hammer is pretty pointless since it's rarely going to actually hit anything. You should probably put the weight down to a middleweight as well instead of an anorexic heavyweight

The point of the "box on the front", as I have said before, is that it is a shield for the main weapon, and for a good portion of the bot, and this raises as the weapons come forward to keep it at a DSL-S standard. And, actually, the hammer did work quite well against some reforged bots I was fighting against. I know that I need to add some weight, though.

Ironforge TC Showcases / Re: Red's terrible robot showcase

A'ight, I know it's been forever, but I'm finally here with a bot that's.... kind of competent

I'll apologise for the abysmal splash quality, 'cause I thrown it together in 5 minutes :P

I've been working on this bot for a while, and it incorporates a cheeky strategy to keep it in DSL-S. Essentially, what happens, is that as the blades get shot forwards by the piston, the burst motor attached to the shield covering most of the front of the bot raises upwards and out of the way. I also added the hammer on the back to allow the bot to protect it's behind, as well :P

Anyway, any refinement tips?

Maybe the car steering motor will actually be decent this time around.

Well Icefrog works for Valve. I think in this case we would need a member of the community to do it, either by modding stock components or by making their own mod and updating  it

Btw are we gonna be building DSL-S style or standard stock style? I think stock's uber efficient building style drives away new players and really stifles creativity.

I think we'll probably have to see how the game performs, first...

I was once a pewdiepie fan, and I know how cancerous they are. Best not to let them know of this place. Plus, if pewdiepie finds the game sh**, we don't want the dev pulling a bear simulator and refusing to work on the game anymore.

I decided to bump this back up to see if there are any possible explanation and a way to fix.
Just giving details again, whenever I start the battle, go on the garage, or even go to a tournament on any RA2 game, it seems to not load any arenas. There's not even 1 arena in the selection screen when choosing to battle. Might it be a program I set default to open the file with (highly unlikely, but letting you know, it's automatically set to open with notepad +), or is it something I need to install on my computer? If you need to know anything on my computer, let me know

Again, sorry for bumping.

Are you playing the game in full screen, or windowed?

Just get your friend to get a free .rar opening software. Personally, I use one called "rar opening knife". No idea where I found it, though  :dumb)

which one of you guys posted this
http://steamcommunity.com/app/363530/discussions/0/385428458177012223/

...why?

This post pissed me off so much. It just shows off the elitist "PC MURRSTURR RAYSS ZOMG" that, frankly, turns me away from buying a proper pc. High requirements does not make the game better. In fact, that is usually quite the opposite.

The bot names for the britbongs still crack me up. I'll hope to see 'em win, in the end.

No thanks.

In my opinion, I think it should be "RA2: Past Truths" because my naming of things is really :rage
