General Support / Re: Arena Help!« on: February 18, 2010, 08:48:57 PM »
It was py issues:
1. No "Return.." after "Tick" or "Hazards". 2. Your arena address had the arena folder spelled incorrectly. 3. You had 2 "INIT" sections. 4. Another minor thing that I don't remember right now...(indenting?) Nice looking gmf. Check your PMs, Wham.... 363

ACAMS is the man.
----------- Need some more details on this one, Eish... But off the top of my head, if while 'in-game' you hit the 'Windows' key to go 'out-of-game', then once you go back in=game, the bot files will load VERY slowly. The cure is to load a simple bot or chassis only, and then go into the practice garage and back out. Then it's ok again. If this is not your issue then please give a few more details like; what things/actions/section of the game you're in when this consistently happens. 364

DSL TC Showcases / Re: SPARKEYS DSL SHOWCASE« on: February 13, 2010, 07:09:47 AM »
Pretty nice bot, Sparkey. You put some thought into it, and it paid off. Do that full time in all things (reality) and it will help your ADD, more than you can imagine...
Good work. 369

Though I'm an avid Chevy freak and builder, that BOSS Hemi 'stang is one of my favorite vehicles and engines. A friend and I put a B+B-ed, larger stroke 460 block under those heads, and it was the deepest, and yet smoothest sounding engine I'd ever heard. Naturally aspirated, of course,...(well if [hidden]NOS doesn't count.

Here, GK. These are some of my own py notes: https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/2799PYTHON SCRIPTS.rar
Just do a search for 'camera', and you'll run into the section dealing with how to adjust camera parameters, and how to implement most kinds of camera dynamics. 373
Contests / Re: BOTM Ideas and Discussion« on: February 08, 2010, 09:29:42 PM »
Yea. Some designs are so unique they don't make it out of the 'structure(chassis) design', others won't work in the practice garage. Causes Havok to misfire in a few synapses.
So you have to play around to get a both good, and working one. Sage, I didn't notice, but did you post your nice tut vid on this? Or was Trov going to do that....? -------- On Topic: Wouldn't mind seeing a SHW BOTM. 374

Agreed. Good point Nar.
As Joe noted, much more can be done if you AI your bot because you have the advantage of py dynamics. So: in DSL, how about: 380
Tournament Archives / Re: RAW 2 Brackets and Videos« on: February 06, 2010, 01:40:22 AM »Good matches.Well, though it's still beta in form, actually it's working pretty well (doing basically what it's supposed to). A lot of work... Here are some problems: -Coding issue: That is, 'tayloring it' to face different kinds of bots in the Bindings. Still have to pipe several parameters out to the Bindings line for fine tweeking too. -It not only has an initial 'step back for a moment' option, but it also has a rough 'Evade' option, when the life is at a certain level. The latter is a crude 'face the enemy and back up' routine. Unfortunately I haven't incorporated a way to get the scores of the bots to know if one should Evade or Engage... So right now it's set: if plus.getHealth(self.GetID(), 0) < .1:. I think Trov was working on bot 'score checking'. - The bot name is different because I had to 'debug' the coding of a 'glitch' Sage ran into....so I used the bot's original name when testing. I'm interested in seeing the next round... Nice bots, Inf and Pys.... |
