G.K. sent me his bots for my tournament Plan B, but his stock bot crashes my game whenever I try to load it in the bot lab. At first I thought it was the smartzones, but then he sent me a version without smartzones and it still crashes, even when trying to load it into multiple different copies of stock 1.4. He says he's had it working on different computers, so does anyone know what the problem could be? Here's the bot (no SZs): https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Exchange/HW/GK_Bot%20no%20sz.bot

I'd ask to enter KoTH, but that'd probably mess it up...

1.5) I will allow burst enhancing spin motors. Are you saying that, so long as it seems irl (moving parts don't intersect components or anything), we could build practically the entire robot off of a snapper?
hmm...
I guess, as long as it looks IRL...
mother brain (metroid reference?) looks effective and original too. i get the feeling that the extender work and chassis setup could be cleaner though.
mother brain could do with less extender work. wedges any good?
Wedges are ever so slightly better than if it had DDTs. hmmm, hs + twacker hybrid? how does that preform against popups?
Surprisingly well, only really has trouble against rammers.

Completely forgot about this. Whoops. I'll build something before the signups close.

Wait, didn't I resigned as judge? EDIT: Also can't find the thread for it, so happy birthday. Honestly can't believe you're just 15, you seem a lot older...

Weren't Gabriel Entertainment very stingy about us asking for the source code before?
Regardless, this could either be interesting, or just a big bust like the other attempts to delve into the source code. I'm cautiously optimistic as always.
These guys know what they're doing - either they'll uncover something new, find something we've already discovered, or tell us to bugger off. The 2nd one seems the most likely, if I'm honest, but where there's a will, there's a way.
Some of our experienced guys could act as Quality Control maybe to try and avoid that.
Yeah, but for that, we'd need a comprehensive log of everything that's already found to be NOT in-game, and I'm pretty sure that would take a while.
General knowledge would work here from some of our vets.
Hey! I'm a vet....
I'm just an undecover vet. I'm like Night Rider! Except... not cool... And stupid... :c
Being completely honest, I think you'd be fine to do QC, seeing as you're the one that brought it to our attention.
I'll still be needing a copy of that beta...
Anyone have it?
It should be in the working game section of the downloads. If that doesn't work, I might have a copy.

Can it be downloaded over DSL3?
Probably not, as many parts on the robots are only in 2.1.

Did you install it over a fresh copy of DSL or a used one? If the latter, try putting in a newly downloaded copy.

Is it actually stuck or just turning too quickly?

From now on I'm just going to use this thread whenever I need arena help. Tried FB's compiler and it's working now. My next question is probably not able to be answered by a lot of people, but how do I remove the existing walls and make new ones where the new collision points are? (btw thanks to everyone who has helped me so far.)

] Opening as gmf, saving as gmf. Not sure if that affects it.
I believe you are opening boxarena_txt.gmf. You need to decompile boxarena.gmf with Serge's decompiler then edit it in Notepad++ and then recompile it with Serge's compiler. (It may be possible just to compile boxarena_txt.gmf after you edit it and just rename it to boxarena.gmf but I don't know for sure if the files are exactly the same.)
Oh, okay then. One last thing, the compiler isn't recognizing the decompiled version. Do I need to do something for it to see it?
Rename the file and put .gmf at the end.
Okay now it's being edited, but not how I need it to be. It just edited the lighting, but I know I only changed the part the tutorial was talking about (arena collision). What did I do wrong?

Are you decompling boxarena.gmf and then recompling it?
Opening as gmf, saving as gmf. Not sure if that affects it. i would double-check the tut and make sure you are editing the right parts of the right vertices.
Checked and I can't find any other part in the gmf that matches what was mentioned.

I've been trying to use this tutorial to mod the combat zone, but when I tried to edit the arena collision to make it bigger and have a shorter roof, nothing happened. Here's the GMF: *MESH_VERTEX 0 -20 -2.264982 -18 *MESH_VERTEX 1 20 -2.264982 -18 *MESH_VERTEX 2 -20 -2.264982 22 *MESH_VERTEX 3 20 -2.264982 22 *MESH_VERTEX 4 -20 3 -18 *MESH_VERTEX 5 20 3 -18 *MESH_VERTEX 6 -20 3 22 *MESH_VERTEX 7 20 3 22Is this because I'm using notepad++ (vs Serge's compiler), or is there something else going on?
