um... wow. Talk about detail. I wish I had as much free time to spare as you must have.

i never seen the bot actually made.
I'm surprised. I had 2 previous versions, one of which was on my website (but now it is replaced with the new better version). lol. You can really see how much I've gotten better since those two.

Improved DSL That Darn Dustpan! Lightweight, 180 degree arc on saw arm, able to self right, handles very much like the real TDD!. Click here to see pictures of the real TDD!/SOB (I based my replica on the TC Mechwars and TSN version)

I can't say how good it is because I've never seen the real thing. I think it's a good idea from now on to always post a picture of the real bot with the virtual one for comparison.
Without knowing about the real Xterminator, I would guess that that replica is pretty good, but it would look better if you made the skin smaller so that the name didnt get cut off.
Btw, do you know that you can change your username anytime you like in your profile? (as opposed to creating new usernames?)

Some of you older members from the RA forums might recognize this bot - but this time, it's all stock! Bumble Bot uses a single TWM3R2 motor that is purposely built very unbalanced to 'bumble' around the arena, similar to a bumble ball - see pic. It is a lot tougher than it looks, but it can be easily beaten by vertical spinners and hammers. It is most effective against bots with exposed tops. Makes a great opponent bot to fight - no AI'ing required, you just need to activate the bumbler and then you can concentrate on driving your bot. It is available on the bot exchange.

Edit: This thread is now Firebeetle's Bots because of me mistakenly posting a second showcase thread. Time to start a permanent bot thread here. I'll start off with 3 of my bots. Dead End, middleweight, is so flat that it can fit under the blade on the blade arena without getting hit, allowing for a fun and easy (although cheap) victory against the AI. It can also fend for itself well enough when it's not hiding under the blade - that's a Tornado Mer gearbox spinning 60kg hammers. Terrible Abomination, heavyweight version of my MW Abomination, has a big, huge, enormous, giant, colossal, gargantuan, humongous, etc. vertical spinner powered by a 6-magmotor gearbox. Fast NPC drive and 2 orange batteries. Drumblebe3 (Drumblebee 3), heavyweight, has a nasty drum powered by 2 Perm 80's and has fast NPC drive and 2 orange batteries. It was built to look cool and be combat effective at the same time. Expect to see some of these bots on the exchange sometime.

Wait, that can't be 2 numbers close together because his score is that high too... if that is an all-stock, non-SHW bot, then kudos to you for coming up with a mind-blowingly powerful new design and I'm sure we would all like to see what's inside that bot if you don't mind:P

WTB?!? Are you sure that's just not 2 numbers really close together so it looks like 1 number, like in my Microfuge screenshot? No way you could get that much damage with stock parts... I don't think...

Nifty. That bot looks fun to drive. It's kinda funny because Firebeetle made a stock RA2 bot called Mars Rover IV about a year ago or something (he just skipped I-III and went straight to IV). It was nothing like that bot though, it had 3 powered steering motors with fatboys on them, a huge drill, and a pneumatic snow plow.

It is in the DSL bot exchange as 'Gyratory Super Bot', I think because Firebeetle made a newer version.

Funny, I've never had any problems like that with any components. My suggestion for the above bot is to use those bigger pistons with 2 connection points, so you can put on 2 things for the price of 1 piston. Also use extenders to put more than 1 spike on each piston, like 4 or something. Then you should be able to fit everything in because you won't need so may pistons.

To find out how I got 919543 damage with a LW:
The light reveals what is hidden in darkness.
Both bots will eventually be up on the exchange, but I am very busy right now with a 10-page, 15-source research paper :smt015 so it might be a while.
EDIT: The bots are now on the exchange. Looks like nobody's solved my riddle yet either, so here's a hint:
What kind of light do you have that you can use here? (Hint: Think high.)

As promised, here are some impressive battle shots and some bot stats: You can tell this bot does a lot of hits per second by looking at all the sparks. No, I didn't edit that 919543 damage shot in any way except shrinking and cropping it. I just happened to get 919 and 543 at about the same time so it looked like one number, and managed to get a screenie.

The subject of the motor speeds is being debated heavily in the top secret topic that most of you can't see, and trust me I am using as much influence as I have to get them faster again. The main reason against making them as fast as they used to be is that then the AI is too easy to beat. I think we have decided that we are going to make them faster in a future patch, but how much faster is still up in the air until we reach some sort of balance/compromise between spinner power and AI toughness.
Meanwhile, try to focus on finding things other than motor speed that could use improvement, so that we can include those in a future patch as well, allowing the realease of one big patch instead of several small ones (that would be a pain to download and install).
Or if you have any serious suggestions on how to reach a good spinner-AI balance those are welcome too.

For some reason it reminds me of Chinkilla. Probably the four vertical spinners on the sides of a big chassis. But anyways it does look like a good bot, nice jorb. You have to admit though, a replica of Chinkilla would be pretty funny and cool. Just throw on a Jay Leno flipper in the front, reskin it, change the spinners... anyways back to topic.

The patch made everything better except for the spin motors. They don't need more torque, I think, just more speed. They actually have about the same amount of torque they had in version 1. But the drive motors, bursts, additional components, all those are nicely done. And I like the new music - it fits the overall style of DSL better, and you have to realize it's not easy finding music you can distribute freely with so much stuff being copyrighted.

Currently with the motors set as they are, you are very hard pressed to make a half good spinner, and the bursts make pop-ups a joke.
The motors are ALL a little more powerful than the ones they replaced. The 132 Perms are more powerful than HP Zteks and the smaller 80 Perms are more powerful than the std Zteks.
The NPC T-64 are designed to replace the redbirds, but are as powerful as Zteks, the fast is more powerful than the HP Ztek. The little slimbody is like the redbirds, and the tiny astro is like the angle motors, so your complaint in that area is invalid.
Erm... I don't know if my patch didn't install right or what, because all my motors except the NPC's are way less powerful than they used to be. Perm 132 power = 48 25 6mag gearbox power = 48 56 Perm 80 power = 40 25 and so on I'd have to agree with micro-maul on the spinners, it's very hard to make a good spinning weapon with those settings, and FBS's are totally out of the question, they are just too heavy for the motors to spin. I hope those really aren't supposed to be the stats on the spin motors, I liked in version 1.0 how spinners actually spun as fast as they did in real life. The drive motors are good, though, I like the 1.1 versions of those.
