4-Mags are better for Cruiserweights (CW), which are an uncommon sub-class of HW that weigh up to 600kg.
FALSE. Tornado Mer Gearboxes can be used efficiently for simple, powerful MWs, or they can also be used for fancy HWs. 4-Mags are best for CW, but can be used for HW classes too.
Actually, now that you mention it, I made a SHW that used two 4-mags. It would be good... if it didn't AGOD, AGODDAMNIT But yeah, helloface is right. Although for HW Shell spinners, which use a heavy shells to hold the weapons, 6-mags and dual perms are preferred over everything else (mostly dual perms). Just putting this here in case you want to build a shell spinner.

I prefer it with 4 wheels, and you can do more low?, but lengthen the hammer is a little more?, looks good, but these designs have serious problems of instability (they lose a weapon)
You're not doing anything wrong, but that's just the nature of HS. They don't need to be fast, but they need to be strong. Speaking of fast, those 2-Mags are actually worse drive motors than NPC-T64 Fast. If you're building DSL-Standard, then you could rotate the NPCFs (use the left and right ones) so that they fit in the chassis. Then, put Hypno-disc wheels (often called "hypnos") on them. Wheels that are diagonal from each other are fairly common in both DSL-S and Stock standard, since standard building is about making the most effective bot possible. Now the spinner... did you know that the 4-mag and 6-mag actually spin faster than the Dual Perm? The only bad thing about this is that they have less torque than the Dual Perm. Here's a chart of the three spin motors' weights, Maximum speed and torque 4-Mag: 110kg, 213 maximum speed, 29 torque 6-Mag: 150kg, 250 maximum speed, 35 torque Dual Perm: 220kg, 200 maximum speed, 68 torque Generally, people prefer Dual Perms to the 4-mags and 6-mags for higher torque and being easier to work with than the latter, but either the 6-mag or the Dual Perm are good for HW. 4-Mags are better for Cruiserweights (CW), which are an uncommon sub-class of HW that weigh up to 600kg. What is the weight and armor? I won't know if you have the weight for the things we tell you that you should have if I don't know what you have to work with. It's like being given a design challenge without a clear materials list.

First off, Judge Bursts are cheatbot2 components, which are not allowed in most DSL-Standard (effective building) tournaments. Change them to either 2 BSG-200s or one JX (a single large JX should be fine). Second, use more than two spike strips (use 4-6) and please provide us with an inside shot of EVERY bot.
I've already told this to TBD Devastator and I will tell it to you too: I honestly don't care/worry about the skin of the bot until the components are in the correct/ideal position. Then again, I prefer DSL-S to DSL IRL.

tigercat is very good!, I am a fan of this robot, could change the extensions fixed by, "metal" or hinge "skirt" ... it would be lovely
Essentially what he's saying is: "Tigercat is a good robot, although the wedge can be changed to a metal hinge or skirt hinge wedge." If this is true, then I agree with this statement. Generally, metal hinge wedges are better than skirt hinge wedges, which are better than static wedges. All of those are better than the horrific chassis wedge. Just to clarify, a wedge-shaped chassis is only a bad thing if it is exposed and/or not backed up by any other component wedge (i.e. skirt/metal hinge). Although, you should keep the supports you already have, just improve them. Now for my input... I think that the advice David gave was good, but I disagree with the "Tigercat is very good!" part. I have seen worse VS before (Playzooki's LOL FAIL series), but there are many better ones, like Mako, the bot you were trying to remake. For 30kg more, you could replace the 12 maces on T-connectors with 30kg sledgehammers which are infinitely better weapons. Also, add another Perm (that better be a Perm-132) like you already have. Ideally the weapon setup is: two different Perm-132 motors each with a tribar with 3 30kg sledgehammers. Now lets talk drive... what kind of NPC-T64 motors are those (Fast or regular)? If they are regular, change them to fast ones. And while Tazbot wheels look cool, they have fail stats. Either use Vladiator wheels (higher grip with weight saved) or Shiny Hubs (for even more weight saved). What do you do to afford all of this heavy crap? The answer is simple: lower the armor. Mako used Plastic 1 for its armor because its weapon would reach the opponent's chassis before the opponent's weapon reached Mako's chassis, so it could get away with using Plastic 1 armor. That doesn't mean that Tigercat can get away with the same thing especially in a Popup and Horizontal Spinner-dominated metagame, though. And once again, inside shot please. I personally don't care as much about the skin as I do the insides, and really, skinning should be the last thing you do when making a bot IMO. The Shell Spinner... by moving the copals up, I mean hold Ctrl and move the mouse so that the copals move up and down inside of the chassis. No matter exactly how you move the mouse, the height adjustments are always in small intervals often referred to as "clicks". Move the copals up exactly one of these intervals. Do something similar for the piglets except you move it high enough in the chassis that the axle is sticking out of the chassis about halfway. This will allow you to save weight by eliminating unnecessary extender work. Lastly, the drum... those aren't Snapper II's. Snapper II's are large blue burst motors that weigh 13kgs... that are stock-only components. Don't use burst wedges in DSL. Replace the big tall battery with a single ant.

Here's the internal picture. Yes, I know Copals are the crappiest of the crappy motors, but it's the only thing that would fit in the bot and shell spinners usually don't need super fast drives anyway.
Copals are fine for BW and AW. But use the small ant wheels (the green ones that weigh 7kg), make your chassis the minimum height and move the piglet high enough in the chassis so that the axle is poking out of the top. That way, you wouldn't need to use an extender to support the shell. Also, move the Copals one click up inside the chassis to reduce ground clearance with the small ants. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that there are five ant batteries in the chassis. This bot only needs three. In fact, three ants is enough to support most spinners although most builders use 4-6 on heavier bots so that their batteries don't die within 2 minutes. Basically, only use more batteries if you're making a HW/SHW and have a few leftover kgs (<20) and really don't know what to use it on. Also, make inside pics of all of your bots. That way, we can give you advice on what components to use on the inside of your bot.

I really hate to crap in your cornflakes, but that is not a Beetleweight. The BW weight limit is 175kg. Also I would like an inside pic please.

there was a glitch with version 1.00 of RA2 where you could repair your robot as much as possible, exit to the main menu, and get 30 more minutes of repair time, . HOWEVER, that was patched in version 1.2 of the game, which DSL uses. so no, you will need to use an external program such as cheat engine, and know a bit of programming in order to do that. alternatively, you could use the DSL patch on a copy of RA2 that is still version 1.00. i don't have a link to download 1.00, but there may be a version 1.00 disc floating around on amazon.com or another online service like that.
I have a 1.0.0 CD. I even use it for Stock building. But I downloaded and installed the patch because the vanilla 1.0.0 screwed up the user interface (UI) of the game on my Windows 7 Pro machine. It refused to install on my XP mode virtual machine and refused to start on my Windows 98 VM. Why this happened, I don't know but whatever. Anyways, I installed the 1.3 patch on my Windows 7 which fixed everything. Also, while the single-player campaign/tournament mode is a good starting place to test your building skills, not very many of the advanced players play it seriously anymore. Instead, we like to test our building skills by AI'ing our bots. AI'ing consists of two things: configuring your bot's controls correctly and writing a short Python script in a specific format called an AI Binding that will allow your bot to be computer controlled. Here's an example of a binding that I wrote for one of my bots: list.append( ("Dell Stripes", "Popup" { 'invertible': true, 'nose': 0, 'topspeed': 18, 'throttle': 150, 'turnspeed': 2, 'radius': 1, 'turn': 100, 'weapons': (23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30) }) ) But the first step is to become a good builder. It seems that you don't have any robot showcases, so start one for stock and/or one for DSL. You post pictures of a bot that you have built and describe the bot and then we (the Gametechmods community) will give you advice on how to make the bot better.

The wedge isn't going to be very good. put the wedge on the center AP.
Done. Armor is now Plastic 3 I lowered the wedge to a single polycarbonate skirt to get Plastic 3. That's all I changed. Thoughts?

Doublepostsorry :[ But I have a new bot. Armor is Titanium 1. I wanted to make an Angled HS kida like something that akshaylan made, except its DSL-S. Since the spinner looks like a star or sun and it wobbles as the thing spins, I named it Sundance. It is hard to see from this angle, but I put a tail in the back to prevent it from falling backwards when it stops moving. The front wedge is also a stabilizer. There's really not much to say here, so... SUMMARY: Name: Sundance Weight class: Beetleweight Bot type: Angled Horizontal Spinner Armor: 1mm Titanium Weapon: 6 razor tips on a hex plate Battery: 3 ants Drive: 2WD Astroflights with wide ants Weapon motor: Piglet ADVANTAGES: +Has plenty of Razors +Fast and wedgy +Can self-right +Stable DISADVANTAGES: -Weak armor -Big vulnerable chassis Thoughts?

Holy cow you're not even at the third gym yet and you have a Scrafty? Jesus christ
Wrong: I posted what my final team is planned to be. Only my Froakie and Fletchling have evolved, and they're both in the second stage. As of posting this, they are either level 24 or 25. Both X and Y are sold out. Now been forced to order online and wait about a week. My brain's impatience gland is now burning.
Do you have access to the eShop? If so, both games are on the eShop. Just put some money into your 3DS account (with your parents' permission if you don't have your own credit card).

Second badge and I almost have a permanent team (not in fully evolved form, of course). The team is: Simisage Scrafty (has Moxie, bwahahaha) Greninja Talonflame Snorlax Raichu/Heliolisk/Aurorus (Image removed from quote.) I am getting Y tomorrow.
I have pudding in the room that the computer that I'm using is in XD Pokemon XD is a wonderful game.

edit: well heres a problem, when i load the games it just spits out an "error(2), could not load game file" error at me.
Funny, it doesn't do that to me. All three games run just fine. I really like "1 vs. All," though be warned--it is no cakewalk in the park, nor is it a piece of pie. "Fleas" kinda reminds me of centipede. I like because my dad's step dad programmed for Atari. He didn't make Centipede, but he did work at Atari This was the game I liked the least. I don't know why, but I really didn't like it.

Nice, don't like how you made your stabilizers though- they could be lighter
There are no stabilizatorizinatifiers on Razing the triBar. My next order of business is to add the four casters that will fit on the bot. Technically 8 will fit under the chassis but I'm only using four because Gabriel Interactive is dumb and forgot to make the casters weigh 3kg instead of 6. In other words... weight constraints I will get to work on that at some point in time.

Insert clever and witty intro here for this thig. I don't know; I'm bushed and I have to get up at 6am tomorrow for jazz band Armor is DSA. Hi my name is rnifnuf and this is Razing the triBar, otherwise known as RttB (he's case-sensitive). None of you have any idea of how much I had to sacrifice for the extra 12 razors. Wait, so that means... That's right: Razing the triBar has 48 razors. It's supposed to be some kind of SnS hybrid like Spin Doctor, but it havoks when it sits and spins . Although, it might be because the weapon motors are all set to spin counterclockwise at the same time. It doesn't have a second black in it, nor does it have castor armor. Maybe that's why it havoks. SUMMARY: - Name: Razing the triBar
- Weight class: Heavyweight
- Bot type: Horizontal Spinner
- Armor: DSA
- Weapon: 48 razor tips
- Battery: 1 black battery
- Drive: 2HPZ with Grannies
- Weapon power: 4HPZ
Advantages: - Fairly fast
- Loads and loads of razors
- Really fast weapons
Disadvantages: - No castor armor
- Havok-y and glitcherific
- Maybe... too many razors
Thoughts?

Intredasting, does it work ?
It's certainly different... I second Nar's question though
Actually it works just fine. The tail and front supports help make the bot stable. Also, in case you couldn't tell, the copals in the back are angled as well for support. Although I haven't rested it in battle, it should be okay. I'll work in making it more DSL-Standard-ey even though it is already DSL-S. More on that at some time earlier than 11...

Sorry for double post :[ How about this bot? Armor is Titanium 1. Anyone who is following my stock showcase as well as my DSL showcase will recognize Antempus Fugit, my Lightweight frenZy hammer. This bot, 2XS Chompy, is the Antweight version of Antempus Fugit. It actually was built before AF, 2XSC was just showcased later. This bot was designed to combat the rally of AW rammers and HS. It is supposed to be DSL-S. I really don't know what else to say other than where else have you seen an astro be used as a weapon motor. Also AGODDAMNIT Thoughts? Also this is my 100th post. ONE-MAN DANCE PARTY! WOO!

Hey guys! I know I haven't been around lately... The good news is that I quit my second job. So, I have a little extra time on my hands. The bad news is that I am now back in college trying to finish my degree. So, I am still kind of busy. But, I still <3 and miss you all! I hope to get back into bot building again.
Anyways, more to the point of this topic. I have to do a survey for my class and I think you all would make excellent guinea pigs lab rats respondents for my questionnaire.
If you got a minute, please fill out my survey. If I get more than ten respondents on this forum I will have a raffle and give away a $15 iTunes credit to one of you. (I will activate a gift card and e-mail the code to the winner).
The Questionnaire is related to gaming consoles. Your input is valuable to a study that I have to write a paper for.
Thanks for your time if you help out with this!
Gaming Console Questionnaire 1. Are you looking to purchase a new gaming console in the next year? 2. Do you typically purchase gaming consoles from a store or online? 3. Do you consider yourself loyal to a certain brand? If Yes, which brand are you loyal to? 4. Do online reviews affect your purchasing decisions for consoles? 5. Do advertisements affect your purchasing decisions for consoles?
The following questions can be answered on a number scale. 1= not important 2= somewhat important 3= important 4= very Important 5= Absolutely Essential
6. How does the price factor into your decision to purchase a new Console? 1-5 7. When a new console is released to the market, there are "Launch" games that are available at that time. How important is this to you? 1-5 8. How important is the availability of certain "franchises" with your console purchase? (eg: Halo with X-Box, Mario with Nintendo, Gran Turismo with Sony, etc.) 1-5 9. When it comes to consoles, how important is it that you have the latest technology? 1-5 10. When it comes to consoles, how important is it that you have the oldest technology? (retro-gaming) 1-5
Thanks for taking the time to fill out my survey! Do you have any additional thoughts or concerns when it comes to purchasing a new gaming console?
My answers: 1. I already have a WiiU, but I might not get the new consoles. I'll have to try them out for myself first before I decide if I want them or not. 2. I have never purchased a console myself, but I'm pretty sure that they were all from the store. Although my Dreamcast and Saturn were bought used online and my 360, which is technically my sister's, was won in an essay contest held by Microsoft. 3. I am not loyal to a specific brand, but if I REALLY had to choose, it would be Nintendo. 4. Yes, somewhat. Although, as said before, I have never purchased a console before. 5. No. 6. 2-- Price vs. quality is a balance that is difficult to maintain. Yet it should be maintained as much as possible. 7. 5-- Take the 3DS for example: an amazing concept, but the launch titles were generally mediocre and the price was so high that people were turned off from the 3DS. First impressions are important. They can be what makes or brakes an opinion of something. 8. 3-- The old franchises draw older fans back to the next console, while new mechanics in these franchises draw in the newer fans. 9. 2-- If you can afford the latest console and you want it, go ahead and purchase it. 10. 2-- I think that retro games are cool, but there are emulators for some older consoles that work on most platforms. Sure, it's technically piracy, but I doubt that the companies will freak out over a product that they're no longer making money on, even if they're still under copyright protection. Not to promote piracy, but you know what I'm saying. Those are my answers. You are very welcome, Jackie.

Take off the wheels and put them back on again. That might be why it doesn't drive straight.
What's really strange is that I followed the exact same building procedure as I did for Rude Bot (did I mention that this is actually Rude Bot's chassis?), yet it is still bad at driving. To be fair, it does have a "Made in China" sticker on it.That is sweet, shame about the AGOD though.
Actually, the AGOD isn't that bad. Perhaps its karma for using red extenders to annoy Sage. But I still say it: AGODDAMNIT I made something similar in DSL. It should be up by the time you read this post.

also the new tempus fugit has a plow. sooo..... i wouldn't say you build the definition of the LW HS :P
also the new tempus fugit has a plow. has a plow. a plow. plow. What plow? Armor is Plastic. Now, say hello... to Antempus Fugit, the bot designed to beat the SC4a Tempus Fugit! Oh how I love non-burst hammers--in exchange for a bit of hammer speed, you can have a fully-working, effective hammer with only a Nifty/Black (Stock) or 3-8 ants (DSL). I haven't done much testing on this bot; I literally just made it and am showing it right now, October 21, 2013, 10:43pm PDT. Oh, hi Sage, I didn't see you there. OOPS I put red extenders on it Lol, jk XD SUMMARY: - Name: Atempus Fugit
- Weight class: Lightweight
- Bot type: Hammer
- Armor: Plastic
-
 - Fairly fast
- Has a plow of its own
- Good hammer weapons
-
 - Plastic armor
- Has problems with AGOD
- Cannot drive straight (WHY???)
Thoughts?
