M14 vs M16 - Discuss.
M14 is more cool. But the M16 replaced the M14. The M16 fired the NATO 5.56mm round, so was compatible with our allies (assuming you're American). The M14's springs in the magazines rusted. You could fire and carry more ammunition with the M16. The M14 is much more unwieldy than the M16, but its 7.62mm rounds offered more stopping power and far better penetration through cover. The M16 uses STANAG magazines so is more modular with our allies' assault rifles... Anything else?
