I was interested in seeing how Team Ro Jo Cole vs Shimapan Hunters would've turned out
Would they also be best of 3, or one win?

Just one win. I haven't got much time to do these.

Us vs unknown quantity and ISGTM would be cool I think

How would that work?

Would anyone like any bonus fights before I close this up? Would like them tonight so I can have them uploaded for the morning.

If not, I'll just throw in a few that I think will be interesting.

I don't know what exactly happened(I guess the losers bracket was cancelled at some point but now added back?) but it's nice to see this continue.

"Firstly, this tournament was never meant to be a double elimination but for some reason, I put it down as one anyway. I didn't want a double elimination tournament because this was a tournament to put me in the mindset for running tournaments. It's something I haven't done alone before and I wasn't ready to run a double elim."

Never thought that a AI would continue to attack a dead bot, and it looked like the team bots attacked eachother? I wonder if that's just a bug in the AI coding where it checks for a chassis in general and not if that one is not from the team?

It's because they can't get around each other. This was also a problem in the original WTT when G.K's robot, Minifridge, killed mine several times trying to get to another robot.

I didn't notice that the bot images from before the fight were cut from the splash.

Yep. I didn't have time to do proper editing. This was easy.

The bots in the bonus fight preview were the wrong ones? Or was that the 4th fight because of havoking with the second one being the actual bonus match?

Were they? Buggaring' hell. I have no idea why. I'm not bothered about changing it though. There's been so many bloody cock-ups that I'm more focused on getting it done and moving on to something which doesn't carry a stigma.

Plenty of promises, but we're yet to see any carried through tbh. And you still haven't said what you're going to do about the 2nd semifinal

Yes, because I just made them. Patience, chap.

As for the time being, the video has been deleted. A remade one will be available tomorrow morning.

Let's clear up some things.

Firstly, this tournament was never meant to be a double elimination but for some reason, I put it down as one anyway. I didn't want a double elimination tournament because this was a tournament to put me in the mindset for running tournaments. It's something I haven't done alone before and I wasn't ready to run a double elim.

As for all my errors, I've had to rush the production of all of this because of my work ethic being terrible at the moment. I'll make sure to improve it in time for next year when I begin working on new tournaments, starting with a Retooled tournament.

I'm deeply sorry to the participants of the tournament. I will improve for next time and use this as a learning experience.

It's alright, still fun to watch, also set range to 99 for spinners so they spin up at the start instead of only after touching the enemy.
Wonder where you got that spooky music from.

Will do.

All music is from Simpsons Hit and Run :3

DSC has had the same idea as me.

The majority of these robots are pretty good and unfortunately, they are mainly vertical spinners. The one weakness to my design ;-;

Basic, but nice.

I don't think you should call this the "Worst DSL Showcase" anymore because what you're building is way better than some rubbish I've seen.

To me, this shows that members of the community are worried about stepping out of line. Why hasn't anyone said this before if people had such strong views on it? No one wanted to is why. Members are worried about being shot down with ideas which could be classed as controversial. I think it's time we changed the attitude towards this. With a new admin, I believe they can lead to change the conservative nature of the forum into one which is more accepting which will mean that the forum is much more approachable than it has done in the past.
No it won't make the forum more "approachable" or "accepting". AS has bought up some points and people have agreed with them, maybe they didn't think about it before. If ideas are bad, they deserve to be shot down, and if people are scared of this then obviously their idea is not good enough to be shared. A new admin won't change anything.

Knowing that an admin is present on the forum, in my eyes, makes it more approachable.

No, that's a horrible way to look at it. The atmosphere is punishing to those who are shy and a lot of good ideas are wasted because of a lack of confidence. People have the right to express their opinion, people may look at it negatively, people may look at it in a positive way, everyone has different opinions on different ideas. Just because someone is scared to say an opinion, doesn't automatically make it bad.
A new admin will change a lot more than you think. Communication will be more frequent, resulting in more things getting done, therefore the confidence will members and guests will also raise because it feels like they are being listened too.

R01 and Badger, if you read what Mr. As has put, he has stated that we have active mods, therefore, we do not need more.

What we do need though, is another admin. I have already stated my reasoning for why we should have another one (8 posts up).

I would just like to also point something out here which I feel is very important. (So important I'm making it bold)

I find it interesting how so many people are agreeing with Mr. As on these subjects that he brings up in these topics. People seem to have a lot to say about each one but why is it Mr. As always posting the topics in the first place?

I have to agree with what's being said here. To ensure the site's longevity, we need a new admin.

With the recent revival of Battlebots and Robot Wars, right now, we need an admin that is active to make the forum as user-friendly as possible to ensure that guests will know that they will feel welcomed when entering the forum for the first time. Constant updates from admins shows that the site is still very much active rather than a bunch of people trying to say that the site's development is still active when in all honesty, it isn't really. Yes, that's also down to the members to welcome them (and I encourage all that are reading to do so) but the layout of the site needs an update to address concerns that people have had for a while. (I.E, Bot Exchange should be on the top bar rather than the homepage)

As for a recommendation, I'm not going to say anyone in particular but if it comes to it, Trov, I will be with you on whoever you go with.

Just like to point out that the tournament now has 50 participants covering all 3 mods.

Noice job, lads.

Sorry for the delay, chaps. Been extremely busy recently and haven't had literally any leisure time at all.

Finishing this tournament is currently my top leisure priority so it will be filmed by the end of the day and hopefully, the first round will be edited and shown by tomorrow morning.

Once again, sorry for all the delays but I will make sure that this doesn't happen again when I host a tournament (which I would like to do).

Robots have been AI'ed.

Skin is on the arena.

My friend is working on the splash for me as I needed to finish up the AI'ing, he's about 1/5th of the way through so expect it by tonight.

First match will appear tomorrow, hopefully if everything goes according to plan.
