We'll see...It's been about a year since I last built in stock, and last time I did...well it wasn't pretty. Oh, and btw G.K. What's the rule on multibots in this one? Half out is done, or both of them?

Very nice Joe! Might I even go so far as to say pretty? I've got about 1/2 my team built. we've got Goldfish--Rammer/flipper rebuild of Hammerhead Shark. Nothing great, but it works CHUD Runner--Fullbody flipper rebuild of Blood Runner. Pooh Bear--Forward flipper rebuild of Grizzly Bear. I'm also playing around with CHUD Runner 2, Bud The Chud Runner, A SHW version which is a really bad idea that has many glaring weaknesses, but I've had more fun driving it around the arena than any other bot i've ever made. Oh, and an as of yet unnamed bot that is a piston flipper. Not effective at all, but you asked for originality, so I'm trying. :P I gotta build one more and then i'll have a team for ya.

Hmmm...I think I'll give Good Ol' Boys a try, if you don't mind. Not sure how good it'll be, flippers are far from my speciality. But this gives me a reason to get better at building them.

I am surprised at Yoda's claim that Tiamat is flung OOTA so easily.
Well, doesn't happen everytime, but it CAN was my point. Seems to be about 25% of the time. And that was me driving straight into the blade at match start. Glad to hear Hide does eventually come out, though, makes me feel a bit better about my chances. .

so it is the standard DSL Blade Arena ? I dont remember the Blade being powerful enough to oota UHW's
Just a heads up...I just tested Tiamat vs. The Blade, and it's more than powerful enough to throw her OOTA in one hit as well. In fact, it threw her so hard, she smacked into the wall and right back into the arena. I do believe my only hope is my wedge being long enough to reach Hide before being thrown, and lifting it up enough that it gets thrown first. That or ignore Hide completely and get a WBP on Seek...can't wait!

Future tournaments, yes, but in this tournament, click should be commended for his cunning. Agreed. He used the arena to it's fullest advantage, as any of us could've. He's basically made the most powerful Bar HS ever. And I applaud him. However, I do think this should be the last tourney it's allowed in. Otherwise, any future one in this arena will become a battle of this type, and those designed to destroy it

In the process of skinning my team now, then i'll AI them real quick and they'll be on the way...Strangest lightweight I've ever built. and suprisingly psuedo-effective

Most excellent. Video was much smoother than I expected, that's for sure. And I agree with the epicness of that OOTA. *Looks sideways at Click* I had a feeling...

Let's see: Took over the arcade scoreboards Learned how to AI Ran Survival of the Fittest Rust In Pieces 2 Champion BTTB2 Runner up Got halfway through building the 7 deadly sins bots Helped spawn RIMP as a minor meme and stayed mostly quiet throughout

I seem to have made the Anti-OOTA machine. Never have I had a bot that caused me to say "Well, there he goes...Oh, nope" more than Gluttony. Yet again, great vids.

One plate is out of alignment. :O
Try using a static motor setup so you can get better wedges.
That was the only way i could get that plate to attach. I figured having one like that would be better than not having it at all. Correct me if i'm wrong, please. And I have now changed the weapon motors to static as per your suggestion, and yup, works much better I like the design. The thing is, the way you've attached the weapons at the moment, they're going to bounce like . The plane of rotation of the weapons on a VS and the snapper they're mounted on should never match (I learned this in BTTB1). Try rotating the snappers 90 degrees, and try having them both on one SnapperII. I reckon you could get better wedges somewhere from that, maybe swap grannies for shinies?
Suprisingly, not so much. The left one is pretty much cemented in place, and the right one barely moves. I'm shocked by it. But, as stated earlier, I have moved them off of it anyway. And as for the grannies to shinies, Bot didn't move with shinies, plus I have a bit of a soft spot for the grannie wheels. So it'll turn faster, I imagine. And to reduce the likelihood of flanking.
yup. Also why after trying Nary's suggestion, i'm returning the plows to where they were. It actually did work better UNTIL I get flanked. Then it's game over. The original way, I had a better chance of recovery after getting flanked.

I was just worried about the stabilizing aspect of it. Poor thing pretty much gets immobilized every time it turns without them. But, yeah, you've got a point, and i'll give it a shot.

In the interest of advice and fulfilling what I assume will be the prerequisite for the next BTTB, here's my first entry into a stock showcase. My entry for BBTB3. Darker Shades of Gray. 2 stacked black batts, DSA 18 Irons total Beats about 1/2 of starcore AI, and usually holds it's own against the ones it can't beat. Go easy on me, haven't built in stock for about a year now.

Sorry, Doom, I truly am. After much experimenting (okay, an hour or two), I think the endless existence route is the only way to go in stock. I did manage to get one to stay balanced for a full 6 seconds once using a HPZ, but then it fell over and never moved again. anyway, Guess it's time to figure out how to make an efficient bot in stock. i'm sure i'll be joining the losers bracket quickly
