VS is mad, but unrealistic. Still, I like it.
Wheels Are Tasty klone looks pretty good, apart from the weapons cutting through the motors. Nice to see you getting a Perm on there, but the fragility worried me a touch. How does it hold up in battle? 323
Site News and Feedback / Re: Split the DSL Showcases« on: September 03, 2012, 12:42:36 PM »
I don't think we should split them. They're both using the DSL mod, but they've just got different building styles. Nobody was suggeating this when Thyrus was building IRL three or so years ago, against guys like Naryar, Pwnator, who were at the peak of competitive DSL building. Granted it's more accepted now as a building style, going so far as to have its own tournaments, but I don't think we can really distinct between DSL and IRL, especially when there are so many designs which blur the lines of either style.

I'm not sure this heat'll be as exciting as previous ones, personally. I'll say Kat 3 to win the heat, given previous form.

DSL TC Showcases / Re: Badger's Bots (DSL Showcase)« on: September 02, 2012, 12:29:54 PM »
Removing the straight side panels would allow you to get TWM3Rs on there, and Vlads would probably be a decent choice to go with them. That might save you a little weight to upgrade the armour if possible.

I might just be going crazy though You're correct. But it still works perfectly fine, same as the similar bot I built like this one. 329
DSL TC Showcases / Re: Sparkey's/ Jamin's DSL showcase« on: September 02, 2012, 11:36:25 AM »
Looks alright. Extender work could be lightened up, though, you're spending a lot of weight on it at the moment, and LW HS don't need anywhere near that level of drive. Astroflights are the norm, so you can get more weaponry to cause more damage.

I'll have to consult GK about this. I only allowed RA2 Olympics to go through because there had been no other activity for a while.

Number 1 should be better. The RADs are behind the plows, so that provides added protection for them. You shouldn't have a plow behind the motors, it becomes a little bit pointless then.

Pretty interesting design. I think razors would be better for this design, and RADs would be better for the spinners, that would allow you to get the weaponry into play should you be inverted. A wider stance with the spinners, and the face spinner motor moved backwards slightly will better allow opponents to be scooped up and let your weapons get into play more effectively. You're definitely improving, though, keep it up. =)

But Gazea has been memifying everyone, Sparkey returned as "Jiman" (and has been surprisingly uncontroversial), some more new tournaments springing up, and an incident involving Goldenfox93 which nobody on the forums may speak of ever again, on pain of 10% Warn. Oh, and Noodle's supposedly returned, but I have him blocked, so I am not affected by his flash-based trollery. Ha ha. ![]() 336

It looks very similar to a bot I built quite recently. I think I'd pointed the SnapperII the other way, which explains how I was able to get DSA and an extra razor on the front. I would definitely try to get DSA on it, and protect the motors somehow. Even having them inside the chassis would be alright.

Very nice build. Shame about the overweightness. You could remove the second 20cm on the weaponry to get it down to AW straight away, though.

I think you just have to edit the mass line of the .txt files of the Square Extenders, including the ones in the Styles folder. However, they won't be stock components anymore.

Nicely built. I would advise having the casters hanging off the edges of the chassis, to help keep HS away from the sides better. Inside shot?

I'm slightly annoyed that Freeview won't be receiving Practice sessions for the Belgian GP this weekend. No idea what's replacing it, probably some other sporting event. At least we get the race live.
