i've done irl online before with massimo like 3 years ago and it was really fun to do, mainly since its probably the closet thing you can get to actually robotic combat simulation. Playing online matches with IRL bots might be kind of awkward though (or not as much fun) simply because the balance between the robots aren't good. Like if you have a robot with a great aesthetic but poor performance, having to control it against opponents with stronger robots and lose could be frustrating.
i dont see how having a better chance than in an AI battle against a stronger bot and being able to pull off some sweet upset victories would be frustrating. right now in current AI irl tournies theres so many dumb losses caused by AI thats i cant possible think of how pvp would be more frustrating aside from the fact you can't blame the AI anymore for your losses lol.

i think stock with the big 4 weapons banned (razors, irons, maces, and bear claws) would be pretty woke

It was given it's own subforum as before the announcement it was buried at the bottom of the forum in the last subsection of the last subforum. We felt that it has shown enough progress and promise (Let's be honest, it's pretty much better than RA3 already and that was given a whole forum section when it came out) to at least be featured more prominently on the forum. This also then allows us to use the announcement feature for other messages.
As for the whole "clutter" thing, I don''t see how adding one subforum is cluttering the forum up compared to back when we had like 5+ sections with only one active topic each.

dont worry, i already planned on having some for non botm and gtmcs things.
if someone one can make a neat tourney award or mega host one i would be all for it
and kix no, the only thing i would do if i had the power was to change your name back to kix

so how exactly does this loser's bracket work cause i'm lost
the two robots in the losers bracket with the lowest seeds battle. the loser is out of the competition, and the winner stays in to fight the next lowest seeded robot. this continues until only one bot is left, and they will move on to the next losers round where they will fight first.
would have been better to just have a normal loser's bracket tbh
obviously you have never watched a revolution tourney

i got bored so i decided to use a feature that was installed months ago and nobody uses. there is currently ones for gtmcs winners and botm winners. if someone wants to make a logo or something for the botm ones go ahead. also let me know how much you hate me for using this feature.

guardians needs more of a design variety imo (aside from the VS) since half these bots just look like double wedge typhoon teeth gutrippers that anyone can cheese if they just build a bot with a long single wedge but thats just my opinion.

i feel like you would have to also nerf grip levels of wheels too, since bots already seem pretty uncontrollable with 2wd give how powerful motors are in IF

First off, why is DSL-S called that when you can enter Stock/Ironforge bots into it's category? Surely it should just be called "Standard", and allow for each different meta to use it's own "standard" build style? It would save you a category, seeing as -nobody- builds DSL or Ironforge bots in the style of Stock.
DSL-S refers to the building style, same goes for Unrealistic. The current number of categories isn't an issue either. That's what the catch-all category of "Custom" was for, so if people built crazy off-the-wall bots that couldn't be categorized, you could just put it there.
To me it makes a lot more sense for that one off Stock IRL bot, Ironforge Unrealistic, Stock DSL-Standard, Ironforge IRL, and etc to be put with bots built in the same style, not thrown in the custom/artbot/replica section with some dude's motorcycle. Another thing, seeing as entries for this first one don't close for another two months, am I hosting this month's BOTM, or relinquishing that?
That was a typo. However you can still host your style of BOTM if you wish. My point is that DSL's standard style of building is called DSL-S, and Stock's standard style of build is... just called stock. Same for Ironforge, also. These are these meta's standard styles, and they should all be judged as such. Making a mod conform to another mod's build style isn't going to work, as evidenced by nobody building Stock Realistic and nobody building Unrealistic DSL. DSL, Ironforge and Stock should have categories for their -standard-, meta style of building, rather than this conformity.
I'll have to agree with FOTEPX. No one builds realistic Stock (except me) and no one builds unrealistic DSL.
Nobody is forcing anybody to build in these styles, and as you both claim that nobody builds in them, it won't be an issue anyways, since the DSL-Standard category will just DSL and Ironforge bots built to their meta's "standard styles" and Stock will just be normal unrealistic stock.
