Haven't AIed anything in a while, but I don't see why you couldn't give it a circular or half-circle smartzone mounted vertically (essentially parallel with the wheels), and then set a button to jam both wheels into reverse whenever a bot is in the smartzone. It seems like it'd be rudimentary and there's probably better specific AIs out there, but it's simple.
That is what 09 and myself did but it still does the thing where it 'regrets' attacking and just pulls back. I asked 09 myself whether there was a good way to get around this issue and he didn't know of one, that's why he said he 'sorta' got it working.
From watching a video of it, it definitely looks like the opponent is falling out of the smartzone. Since that one was bouncily running on saws, a wider smartzone would be a good start, but also maybe a farther out smartzone to keep it committed to backing up. Other options would be to put the backing up on a time delay if possible (Basically committing it to go through with the entire attack before proceeding with anything else). Either way, at least in the case of the beetleweight, I'm not sure it really even has the power to do a ton of damage. But most beetleweights don't.

I'd do my best to get something together in time for it.

about your full body hammer... well you should be able to put a 3kg control board in there and i'm not too sure about the weapon extender work.
pretty sure that hammer setup can be more focused and not sure about these titanium and CF extenders.
Eh, CF if there because I had the weight, just to take a hit from the main extender. Not really gonna work on that one much since it's pretty junk anyways. I think I'll give some IRL a go...

So what should I practice building? Not really sure what's popular these days. I've figured out that DSL-S is what I always generally build but what are there more tournaments for and stuff?

I think we all just changed our avatar to ACAMS's yeah. Like with the Pikabobs it was all custom ones but with ACAMS I remember just changing it to the ACAMS can like everybody else.

I would love to restart the "Pikabobs for everybody" game. But got that was awful trying to figure out who was posting what for that week or two.

but all my work...
You've made me change my avatar for the first time in literally years. Someday Pikabob has to come back because my relationship with that creature is just deeper than any of you can imagine. But purple Pikabob rocks. He stays for now.

I know that I have them all saved somewhere. Just looks like it's not on this computer.
And the Purplechu will live briefly, I can't leave Pikabob forever.

Attempted to make another (good) comic. This one is about a real joke made in the chatbox.
(Image removed from quote.)
PS make Somebody a veteran.
that pikabob is pretty good
I find the green dots strange though. It looks like Somebody is sick.
Who's sick?
heh
Somebody.
Who I'll make a purple Pikabob for vetEdit: The purple deed is completed. Thanks Thyrus!!!

Came up as an idea for one of those "tank tread weight doesn't count" tournaments, for basically some extra armoring. I don't see why it wouldn't work with wheels too.

True. As long as there's enough torque in the motor to keep the belt moving over the locked hub. Are you SOL if you lose the belt though?

Are you worried about the thinner ends of your wheel guards getting bent over into the wheels? I don't know the thicknesses and stuff but it seems like it wouldn't be too hard to lock up your front wheels that way.

Built another robot and stuff. Popped into my head in class a couple weeks ago. Built it first as a MW and it sucked hard. Rebuilt as a heavyweight and sucks slightly softer. A tracked full body hammer BIGMEATYCLAWS 798ish Titanium 3 17 ants IIRC 2 Large JX bursts Large Tracks on NPC Fasts Self-righting is sketchy at best but it can land some good sized hits. No idea how AIing would work since the steering switches when the hammers fire because the chassis flips over. Ohhhh well. Can beat most of the DSL 2.1 AI.
