Discussion / Re: The 100 Most Memorable RA2 Robots Of All Time
« on: June 18, 2013, 10:12:14 AM »
I don't. I'm was a decent DSL builder with potential and i could beat that thing SO easily with any garbage i made, just my opinion.

Mechadino is right. Lack of proper weapons, slow, mish mash of components, it's basically just a punching bag.

Even for MW's.
Great fun to rip to pieces, though.

Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Studio Ghibli
« on: June 17, 2013, 08:09:39 PM »
Just bumping this for joy. Finally getting round to watching more Studio Ghibli movies and I'm really enjoying them. Howl's Moving Castle is next on the list, after watching My Neighbour Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service. But obviously I've seen Spirited Away at least 300 times. Because who hasn't? :P
I haven't yet, but I'd like to- along with Porco Rosso, Princess Mononoke, and Grave of the Fireflies.

The ones I have seen are My Neighbour Totoro (Catbus FTW), Kiki's Delivery Service, and the Japanese dub of The Cat Returns. I also have Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, which I'll probably watch next.

Anyone now for chat about the actual AI pack?
Aye. Considering what I've seen so far, we'll definitely be in for a real treat once it's all finished. Makes me wonder though, what teams they'll all be in? I did have an idea for one, in reference to the original DSL Pack-

Stark Industries
"Better living through Technology"
(Pussycat, Firestorm, Chaos 2)

w-why are you being s-so mean to me? ;_;
But in all seriousness, it's great to see you back, man.   :P

thanks, wanna fill me in on everything I've missed?
No worries, man. Couple things, really- ACAMS retired as Admin and Trovaner succeeded him, Noodle and TeamXtreemer got Permabanned (hurrah!), Click's released the DSL3 Beta, and Whammettnuht's in the process of creating a Robot Wars AI pack. You should check out some of the replicas there, they're truly awesome.

Custom Components Showcase / Re: Pay Tribute With Replicas

Grim Reaper.  It doesn't look a lot like the original, a fact that I realized when I was in the finishing stages, but y'know, I wasn't in the mood to start from scratch.  So I'm not going to include pics of the original, and if you care about me you won't post any here.  The youtube videos of it are blurry as all heck, so maybe it'll look like it has a passing resemblence
(Image removed from quote.)
All things considered though, it's still a bloody good replica. I particularly love how clearly you've done the detail on the paintjob.   :D

Well, I don't know. Seeing as I'm crap at making DSL LWs, it seems likely that I'll be sitting this one out.
ARE YOU A MAN, OR A MOUSE?
Technically neither.

Thyrus I may acctually kill you :P xD

And as much as I would love the challenge, Twn Twrn was a terrible robot and not even worth the time of trying to mesh it [:
Mind you, it was a good robot on the artistic side of things, and perhaps as something that would be hilarious in a fight against say, Terrorhurtz and Razer. Couldn't make up for everything else, though.

Speaking of Terrorhurtz, I love how the version of it here looks so far. Is it just the shadows on the axe that need fixing?

Ah, this is back again? Schweet. Let's see what I can come up with for it- hopefully I can improve on my current ranking.

But, LW? Damn. I'll have my work cut out.

I tend to have this stuck in my head a lot, particularly around Christmas.

Where was you earlier?! xD

Anyway, 2 more replicas :P

Blade's shadows need to be sorted out and name needs to be reversed :P

Axe head's shadows need to be fixed again.

Progress is being made :P
I'm officially speechless.    :D

Most OC's are recolors aren't they?
Indeed. Most of the logic of recolour "Artists" is as such-

"I'LL STEAL IT! NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW"

I'm due to go to Turkey at the end of July.

Good luck.
Thanks for that- thankfully it's somewhere a fair distance away from Istanbul or any other centres of chaos at this time, so I should be alright.

Ba-dum tsih.

Seriously, Italy is full of whining Ferrari-fans and corruption. I would rather go to France or Spain.

I love Italian food though.
Been to both, myself. Spain in particular is quite notorious for its tourist industry (Say, Benidorm), but If you know where to look in both, you'll find some absolutely lovely places. Both times I've been to Spain, I went to AndalucĂa, which I'd say is definitely one of my favourite places I've been to. Portugal's really nice, too.

In terms of places I've been to- Scotland, France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Holland (briefly), the US (Florida), and I'm due to go to Turkey at the end of July.  I'd also like to visit Ireland, Italy, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Germany, and India.

But Nary can't even lift.
when you are 121 lb at 17 years old, youre probably scrawnier than naryar.
Good God, that can't be healthy- only 54kg at 17?

I think we need to send a submission to Jerry Springer and we all go on his show. Naryar will probably yell out JUSTICE and throw Jonzu into that big fan thing in the background.
Now that'd be cool. And then presumably followed up by him engaging in some badass boasting in a hilarious French accent, singing La Marseillaise, and punching Sylandro in the face.
