I didn't make any parts non-standard, because the replicas use them, and then you couldn't use the replicas online, blah blah...
But apparently some part is non-standard for some reason.
Easiest solution: Edit RA2.cfg in your main folder and change AllowNonStandardMultiplayer = 0 to 1.

Amidst all the BBEANS stuff, I managed to make a new bot. VHS (Vertical/Horizontal Spinner) - MW Drive: 2 Magmotors Batteries: 2 long batteries Weapon motor: TWM3R2 Armor: 3mm aluminum The two bots in the pic are actually the same bot. VHS's weapon is mounted on a servo, and by rotating it, it can be either a vertical or horizontal spinner. It even has enough power to switch modes mid-battle. The skirts are mounted on limited axles, so they always touch the ground no matter what mode the bot is in. This is quite useful, because VHS can flip opponents with the vertical disc, then go horizontal to hit them without flipping them right side up. It can also get under bar spinners like VENGEANCE in horizontal mode to hit the chassis, and in vertical mode it can take on wedges and hammers. And if it loses its disc, VHS still has two little spikes that it can thwack bots with. With the optional V/H weapon, invertibility, good drive, wedges, and thwacking spikes, VHS is the most versatile design I have.

Only thing I can think of is that there's something wrong with your connection, or the site was hiccuping. Try again later and see if it works.

That bot looks mean. Suggestion: Replace all the skirts with polycarbonate, so my bot will stand a chance
But seriously, the only potential issue I see with the design is that the weapon might be a bit too heavy for that motor. Spinup time and max velocity might suffer. But then, if all the DSL AI are easy, they might not.
It could also be detrimental that the weapon can't hit bots until you get under them. Usually you want to design VS's so the weapon pokes a little ways in front of the wedge. But that would require almost a total rebuild, and having it in the wedge makes it toss bots higher. So it's sort of a tradeoff between easy hits/big hits.
Looking forward to seeing how it does in the tournament.

You don't need to waste weight on "supports" for the axle. The only requirement for realism is that nothing intersects something you couldn't cut a slot in. (Trying to enforce a 100% total realism rule would be a nightmare.) So having your teeth intersect the top disc is fine. Looks like a tough bot. Cool-looking too. My suggestions for the extra weight: Replace the front Ti half-sheets with steel skirts (they're way more durable) and maybe try using one of the silver DSL discs (because they're more durable than the shell discs) with 2 or 4 hammers mounted on it. You could also use some grippy wheels for extra speed, like Techno Destructo wheels. Now I'm wondering if I'll regret saying that...

Easily one of the cooler-looking bots likely to appear in the tourney.
I like the Turtle too. It looks sort of buggish. Reminds me of some of Korium9's bots, with that shell on it.

Yeah, that's the "all parts unhidden" glitch. I'm not sure what causes it. You did install the 1.2/1.3 patch before installing DSL right?

Now that's a cool-looking bot. Great jorb. Try using a skirt hinge to attach the spike strips instead of baseplate anchors. It should work much better at getting under opponents.

What was the old entry?

1-hit kill is an overstatement, but they're decent bots. I just recommend having some sort of hinged wedge to get under opponents better (like a skirt or flipper segment or something.)

It could be built. The wiring and getting things working right would be a bit of a pain. I wonder how it will do? Yeah, I had to make custom AI for it to get it to work right. The AI uses a "primary weapon" and a "secondary weapon". Initially only the primary weapon is used. When the primary weapon breaks, the AI stops using it and switches to the secondary weapon. It also has two "Other" weapons that it uses all the time, for srimechs, etc. But the good news is, I can use that code to AI other bots too. Should be pretty useful.

Then something is wrong. Do you have that problem where all the cheatbot2 parts are unhidden? (to test, enter cheatbot2 and see if anything new appears)
If not, what parts are crashing?

This is going to be my entry in BBEANS2. Name - Fight or Flight. 2 E-tek drive, 4 PC625 batteries + 2 Battlepacks, Beta burst powered grab/lift mechanism. I forgot what armor it has. Something basic like 3mm Al or 3mm Ti though. Fight or Flight is the heavyweight Fear Itself. It works like Complete Control in that it grabs bots and lifts them into the air, then drops them. The frenZy hammer clamp also makes a good hammer weapon for when the flipper breaks. The name refers to its abilty to either fight (hammer) or flight (grab and lift) and the well-known "fight or flight" panic response in many animals. That's Grog getting beat in the lower left corner, so shell spinners beware!

Ask Xikaze. He had the same problem but somehow solved it.

All of those are non-DSL2 components, correct? There is no reason any of the standard components would crash.

Did importing work without DSL?
Is it only some bots you can't import, or all of them?
What happens when you try to import a bot?

OK, anyone who wants to make 100 new announcer comments, go ahead. The current announcer is better than anything I or FB could come up with. FB could make some crazy, silly comments (random stuff like opera singing and Gollum imitations), but nothing serious I don't think.

The bot was called Jawbreaker. Here's a pic of an updated version but still looks the same: http://www.teamjawbreaker.com/NastyOverbite.jpgMake a few modifications to that first bot and it would be a pretty good replica.

You can get one from Dummy's site games.paradum.com
Click the link to the old site in the corner and go to the Code Dump.

I'm not sure how that happened; the easiest solution for now is just to open your RA2.cfg and change AllowNonStandardMultiplayer to 1.
