Granted, there were plenty other unIRL bots, such as Top Comment, but unfortunately you were the first guy that popped up in my head. It's not a personal attack on you, I was just using your entries as an example of some of the stuff that can be entered. Shark, for instance, might be technically an IRL design, but I've never seen any shell spinner with weapons such as that one. The comments were explaining how the seeding system seems a little flawed, rather than trying to take shots against your entries, but they weren't exactly - and I know I'll get some backlash for saying this - within the spirit of the tournament, in my view. Cue Naryar going on one of his tirades about efficiency and ballasts and empty space and suchlike. From what I've seen, in this sort of tournament, if you can manage to place aesthetics first, give efficiency a lower priority, and still build a decent machine, then everybody has fun. I'll still try and get stuff in, though. Hopefully signups won't open on Sunday night, I'll have to wait until Wednesday to actually enter something.

I can't remember what albums I have. I've got the Greatest Hits one, and the one with It's The End Of The World As We Know It on it. Well, they're not mine, they belong to my mum.
Is that the name of the actual song? I have been wondering for ages? D:
Yeah. I think you might have to stick (And I Feel Fine) onto the end of it, though, I'm not sure.

Better is a purely subjective viewpoint. In terms of IRL building, I would say he was quite crap. =P IRL building doesn't necessarily have to be inefficient (lrn2semantics), although if a bot looks like it could be built IRL, and is skinned well, then it's more likely to go down in a tournament such as this one.

But if they do enter, then they bump another entry out of the bracket. I - at the risk of being decapitated - REALLY don't want Urjak stretching the IRL rules as far as he can, and pushing a much better "IRL" entry out of the brackets. I think a better way of making this work would be that a seed can claim their spot in only one of the four brackets. That would give the unseeded machines a chance to battle as well.

It looks like the weapon would be REALLY high up. I'd try to reduce the angle, and get the weapon a bit lower down, personally.

I'd agree with the downsides of the seeding system. For one thing, 12 out of 20 seems too many, in my view. Plus, I would much rather see dragonsteincole's machines in the tournament than Urjak's barely realistic stuff, but Urjak's "seeding" as a result of winning more matches, means he would gain automatic entry. I don't think that's fair, personally.

Very nice indeed. And yeah, square discs would be better. Maybe half hexplates on something might work.

Halfsheets have a "secret" AP in the center, that allows you to attach it directly to the baseplate. However, the chassis must NOT be minimum height. DSL Discs require a Baseplate Anchor pointing directly downwards, or something similar.

Ah, Facebook... Words cannot describe the stupidity of 95% of it's users.
But they can have a damn good go.

I caused a lot more damage than I thought I would do. Good match, dsc, I was a little worried about that one. =)
And now freeziez. As long as he doesn't OOTA me (which me probably will), I should be fine. If I'm not stranded on my back.

Saying your opinion's fine, provided we know it's your opinion. Natef had a similar problem recently, and I think you could circumvent it if you chose your wording slightly differently.

Did You Know? The Welsh word for "vegetarian" literally translates as "meat refuser". =D

Looks very nice. I'm a little bit curious as to how much the Iron Spikes prevent bots getting up onto the flipper, but it looks execllent nonetheless. Would look a little better if the Iron Spike on the left wasn't rotated like that.

It's better than becoming aggressive if someone makes a joke about you. If you can make jokes about yourself, it makes it easier to take them from others. It's a smiliar situation to the Danish guy who drew that cartoon of the prophet Muhammad, which angered the Muslims enough to force him into hiding. Just given the Showcase rules a quick read through. Seems alright to me.

Sounds like a good plan. Would, however, be a little better if there was images to go along with it, rather than us being left to fill in the blanks ourselves. =)
