Disappointing as it is, it turns out he really dodged a bullet. Remeber how I guessed that she was 26? She's actually 40. And that isn't a spoiler, it's presented in a way like you were supposed to know it all along. Also she has kids, that's a mood killer for me. 3084

Also, keep in mind that body weight is based on surface area, not volume. Your robot has a very complex shape, and that's actually making it heavier than it needs to be. I personally don't use anything more complex than a T-shape

They have the best weight-to-damage ratio among all the small weapons, and they are normal-less (IE the whole surface area of the weapon is defined as damaging rather than say one designated point like the tip of a pole spike) 3086

Chatterbox / Re: Anime...?« on: May 07, 2011, 11:10:28 PM »
I think the best animes are the ones where they didn't have the American audience in mind. With Naruto, Yu-Gi-Oh, Bakugan, etc sure it's Japan inspired and ostensibly Japanese, but let's be honest, they knew that America was where the money's at, so they had to dumb down the plots a bit.
Comedies usually don't have that problem, that's why I prefer them. 3088

*goes to check* Nope, looks like it doesn't. The real version probably had strategically-placed ballasts inside the shell - mine is hollow.

It's true mine can't compare to that because my replcia of ROTS doesn't exist yet. I might do it at some point, I'd probably BFE a disc to cut through the centre of the outer shell if that's allowed.

It's the series 5 version but I didn't like the saw so I just made the spikes instead. 3093
Chatterbox / Re: Anime...?« on: May 07, 2011, 01:08:48 PM »I just intend to know all the puns first. My advice, not worth your time. The forum posts that list all the references are a page long - per episode. Lucky Star rarely references the same anime twice. Haruhi is the only one that's done frequently. I was kinda under the impression that nothing ever happens in that show. Well the plotlines are cohesive, they'll have episode like a "studying for exams" episode and a "class trip" episode for example. It's in the same vein as Azumanga, a slice of life anime where stuff happens but it doesn't necessarily follow the conflict-resolution formula that most shows do. 3094

MW fair enough, I guess there isn't much you can do with that, I'm assuming you're right on the precipice of the weight limit.
Me personally I'm a replica-building samurai, I don't mind if my replicas die in battle as long as they retain my honor. I'd save weight by replacing the teeth with a single vertically mounted Hypno tooth on each segment and use plastic-1 armour 3095
Chatterbox / Re: Anime...?« on: May 07, 2011, 02:06:17 AM »
I know what you're thinking, don't judge Lucky Star on the Choco-Cornets scene in the beginning. In fact the whole first episode is not a very good tone sette (I don't know what they were thinking making that the opening episode, for goodness sake they have one of the main characters out sick on the first day!) The pace really starts to pick up after that.

I'm particular to Lucky Star, Azumanga, K-On, Minami-Ke, and Haruhi of course.Yes, Lucky Star is very good :D Hang on, I missed this earlier, are you saying you watched Lucky Star and not Haruhi? How is that possible??? Lucky Star is rife with Haruhi references, ![]() 3097

Ok, you seem to think you deserve + rep just for building a replica (ref: Rep Reset under Forum Feedback). I'm assuming that means you're open to all feedback good and bad. So here goes.
-Too small -Flipper should come over the top of the spinner -Obviously built to win replica battles, no visual appeal, further evidenced by..... -You've provided a pic of the internals rather than the chassis that should have a pretty-looking copper coloured skin. -Self-righting polycarb extender doesn't belong -top should be uncovered Word of advice, when I compare your replica side-by side with the original, it should be hard for me to spot differences, not similarities. 3098
Site News and Feedback / Re: Rep Reset« on: May 07, 2011, 01:09:03 AM »How did I abuse the system? All I really did was up-rate people because they did something that deserves an applaud. I also should get credit for that R.o.T.a.S. rep in the replica thread. *spits on the ground* Comments like that are why you had such a negative rep before the reset. I'll be happy to tell you the reasons I wouldn't uprate you for your ROTS replica, see Replicas thread 3099
