I assumed it was a Signups topic as soon as it was moved to the Signups section.

Anyway, PMbomb'd. :gawe: I ain't hanging around.

You could simply make a new topic.

Correct.

And I thought there was a website that created ASCII art of images.

Signups haven't opened, so it hasn't been accepted. Otherwise there would be no point in a Signups thread, everyone would just send their bots a week early and the signups would be full before they started.

I'm really not sure about the beater bars on the wedge. I'd swap them for a couple more razors somewhere.

As a concept, though, I think this bot is fantastic. I'd probably put you in my top 10 builders on the forum. =)

Doesn't look too bad. Wheel position's a little bit off, but apart from that it's pretty good, on the whole. Did it not have static spikes on during the Armed Forces Melee?

If you go to the very bottom of the page, it tell you who made the skin. =D

Also, this year's Christmas theme was used last December, if I remember rightly.

I think one of my friends has a video somewhere of one of our old high school friends, entitled "Fat Kid Does Fat Dance". I can't remember what he did with it, though.

You could simply take a shot of it from underneath, and flip/rotate it in PDN or something similar to give the effect of it being upside down.

Looks quite good, I think. Would Robot X Casters work instead of Stock ones?

I thought marty was in the rumble, GK hasn't mentioned it at all yet, but when did ty4er appear there?

Brutus does look very nice. It might look even better with a decent skin. Sheck Spinner's not too bad, but it could probably do with being not as tall. You could probably get some Light DS Teeth on it instead if you managed to make it shorter. =)

I'll sign up for the rumble too, please. I might actually get a shot at GF93 for once. =D

...I'm feeling confident with my Division. =D I think nicsan looks like my biggest threat, but I should be able to withstand his weaponry.

Where do you see a problem ? Exactly as it did for stock between 2003 and a few years ago (where stock stopped evolving a lot), natural building evolution towards more refined, efficient designs in DSL is a given.

The problem is that DSL strived for increased realism upon conception and release. Eventually it became about efficiency at all costs, virtually abandoning the concept of realism all together.

That problem is never going to be solved by bringing out a new mod, or anything like that. The crux of the problem lies deep within the mechanics of RA2, and as long as the .exe file remains untapped, it's always going to swing more towards the side of efficiency because of the way damage is calculated, and because people will naturally want to win. The recent uptrend of "IRL" building seems to be solving this problem, and bringing DSL back to the way it was intended to be upon release, but there are still a few people who edge towards efficiency a bit much for my liking in that aspect.

Better, but still not great. If you take a look at GF93's War Bastard, that's got a very good support setup for the motor. I'd try to build something similar to that, probably losing a couple of the hammers to get the weight for it. That is if it's IRL. If it isn't, then I'd suggest the drive was a bit too fast.

I still think one where we're restrictive about commonly used components would be a good idea.

I'm struggling to come up with any way you could come up with "realistic" legged propulsion in RA2, short of chaining Linear Actuators. That might be havoky as anything. But I suppose it's worth a try.

Suck it, basically. We've had this argument already. Goddamn time zones. I've actually just come up with an idea for signups to circumvent the problems with time zones.

And yes, Kurt, that would be cheating.
