Check this out if you want a bot kit: http://Kitbots.com

I have used the 18 volt drill motors to great sucess with Shish-Kabot. If you are determined to use the kit you posted you probably could make a sub par hobbyweight.

I'm just throwing some ideas and thoughts out here.

1. How will your weapon damage the opponet/control the fight to win?
2. How will you build your tracks? Custom from some company or make them your self? Rubber or metal links like a bulldozer? Have you ever seen a truly affective tracked bot?

Problems I see.

1. Your weapon will not be able to cause damage or control a fight and seems like a waste of weight.
2. Tracks need to be tensioned to stay on. One hit from a spinner and you are done. Tracks are generaly wasted weight because they don't offer any mobility and you still can get outpushed.

I also recomend 4 18 volt drill motors and colson caster wheels for an unbeatable featherweight drive train.

Good luck

How good are you at taking stuff apart and putting it back together? If you search the model number of the drive on google you will probably find diagrams of how the drive is assembled and how the ejector mechinism works. You can take it apart to get the floppy disk out or you might be able to fix the ejector if thats broken.

Aww, I was hoping that we might get a better draw on my first ever tourney  :(

My bots disks are low enough to hit small wedges so hopefully it will rip them off fast. I'm more woried about SM's entry than GK's.

@Nary - SSC is invertable.

If you dont know what an Attachment Point is it is the scew shaped thingy. If you click it you can attach the componet using that Attachment Point.

Also it is better to have your motors facing the other way like you had it before. It gives your bot a larger stance and protects the motors.

Yes, it's in corndogs.

Finaly I have been waiting for an edible tournament.

The reason that you haven't seen a fleaweight tournament is because fleaweights are very hard to build and have weapons or any damaging capibility or any drive speed for that matter.

Hey looking at the poll I'm not sure if eraser and afterthought are possible due to chassis shape  and are you refering to hammertime 1 (http://robogladiators.com/Image002.jpg), 2 (http://robogladiators.com/HT25-01.JPG) or 3(http://robogladiators.com/HT3-pic1.jpg)?

Darn there goes my idea. I guess I have to make it taller because the Beta Burst also acts the same as the Multi Extenders.

I don't like the idea of spikes. They are just a bear to maintian with any spinner bots and dont do anything.

4X8 to 8X8 foot lexan box with steel or plywood floor is pretty typical in the US. I'm biased towards no hazards but a kickplate where bots can get stuck on is always fun. 3/16 inch lexan should work but for saftey reasons I recomend doubling that.

Haven't noticed any problems with it. Only complaint would be the armor on the AU replicas is still stock grade instead of DSL grade and also some of the AU weapons seem unbalanced compared to the DSL weapons.

I redid the Codebreaker skin. It is saved as a PNG because the GTM uploader won't let me use BMPs anymore.

Stag: Motor looks way too small and doesn't have a gearbox to make the output RPMs usable. You really might want to invest in using 18 Volt drill motors like these. http://kitbots.com/product.sc;jsessionid=3C124443C74D993BADBED88DDC5CEFAD.qscstrfrnt02?productId=6&categoryId=1

Or motors like these http://banebots.com/

Play around with this to try to find the best motor/wheel combination that you can afford.
http://members.toast.net/joerger/squid/newtorquecalc.htm

I also would try to stay away from RC car/truck parts. They are designed to move a 3lbs car not a 30 lbs combat robot. The amp draw on the Speed controller would be too great and it will fry.

I recomend Vantec speed controllers http://vantec.com/acatalog/spdcat.html

They have single stick mixing so you drive with one joystick on your controller and you only need one vantec to drive up to 4 motors. (2 each side) You either need a RDFR 21 or a RDFR 22.

Also ditch the RC car battery because they charge slow weigh a lot have low voltage (7.2volts or less) and dont have much capability.
