I have no idea what you mean with challenge points.

Well, feel free to start (the bots are already there) OR if you're lazy you could ask freeziez for the AI :)

(or freeziez does the rematch)

I don't think it's a problem, if you want a rematch, then do the match again. Who's willing to host?

The adding and removing of the extenders literally rips the axle out.

Oh haha, with some chassis editing I brought down the above setup from 561,2kg to 561,0kg.

Thanks inf! I might actually try normal ZTeks. This is the new setup I'm trying out (despite having more empty space it's lighter):

That's 8 HP-Zteks, 2 Snapper2's, 4 shinies, 4 anchors, 4 disks, 2 Y-extenders, 2 extenders and 2 blacks totalling 561,2kg. That means I have 800 - 561,2 - 16*7 = 126,8 kgs left for the plows and the wedges.

Well, I just started with a new chassis again, and the chassis is at 73.2 kilo's opposed to RPB's 77+'s. My setup is also slightly better.

Yeah... That's going to be hard.

I'm going to (try) a chassis revamp later, because I need 1,8 kilo's for longer wedges.

@Naryar: Kind of, the endresult will probably look a lot different though.

Little update:

The plows can be rotated in any direction.

« on: August 07, 2011, 07:40:35 AM »
I found out this method, and wanted to share. This allows you to easily axle load anything, even on HP-Zteks.

Step 1.
Attach an 20cm extender to the axle.

Step 2.
Spin the motor until it's on full speed and switch tabs (while still holding the spin button).

Step 3.
Make the motor spin faster by pressing and holding the spin button and quickly switching tabs. Repeat a few more times to make the motor spin faster in order to enhance success. Stronger motors require more repetitions.

Step 4.
Remove the extender and put another 20cm extender on the axle, with the side attachment this time.

Step 5.
Spin once and quickly switch tabs. The extender should've come loose.

Step 6.
Remove the extender and place your wheel/disc/other component.

Step 7.
Spin once and quickly switch tabs. Congratulations, your component should now be axle loaded.

(I'll make a video when I am home)

NFX, is your offset in the length or the width direction of the black?

EDIT: Holy ****, I just stacked two together using your method NFX, I would +rep you if I knew how to.

Thanks NFX, that's the sort of tip I was hoping for.

I think you can shave off that chassis more. Try making more block shapes instead of angled shapes. What I do if I need to use 'clear outline' is make a screenshot, copy it in paint, align the picture in paint with the ingame one, and then alt-tab copy with the changes I need.

I hope you can shave off enough weight so that you can go DSA if you drop the ice pick.

I can stack nearly everything apart from Snapper II's and Blacks.

No offense, but I don't really care, and it's completely offtopic.

@Ty4er: If I'm not mistaken you can zoom with PgUp/PgDn.

I have done it once, but that was sheer luck.

My question is, what are your strategies/tactics to stacking two blacks? Certain camera angles, what zoom, etc...

Thanks!

Not necessarily, but I can understand that you read in it.

Well, you decide, build for coolness or effectiveness. Sometimes in a bright spark you build a bot that has both, great, but sometimes you'll have to choose.

Drop the razors on the HS. Nothing is going to hit that, especially not when it's behind a mace and an iron spike.

I'd suggest changing the pointy tip to a bear claw facing downwards to munch on long middle wedges.

Rest of the bot seems nice, but the VS motors are a tad exposed. I'm not so sure how effective the face spinners are, but consider dropping them for more defense.
